The presser foot on my sewing machine lowers very slowly and no longer stays down when sewing. Presser foot no longer presses fabric down firmly. The pressure is missing.
Usually the pressure spring in the presser foot bar is gummed up. The video shows how to restore the presser foot function.

Super. Beseitigt das auch den Fehler das der Hebel bzw Nähfuß nicht oben bleibt? Ich will gerade erst anfangen mit nähen und kenne mich nicht aus.
Aber was ist wenn der Nähfuß perfekt runter fällt aber nicht mehr hoch genug anhebt?

This helped a lot! thank you! I was able to remove lots of gunk in the spring. The shaft moves up and down again. Only problem is: it is now rotating aswell. I may have unscrewed a screw too many in my pursuit to loosen the shaft. :(.Any chance you know what fixates the shaft so the presser foot stays straight?

The shaft is rotationally fixed via the slotted brass screw of the black holder. You can see this approximately in the center of the image at video minute 2:00 to 2:10.
