프랑스 남동부 ‘오베르뉴-론-알프’(Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) 지방 ‘오트 사부아’ (Haute-Savoie) 도의 수도이며, “알프스의 베네치아”로 불리는 물의 도시 ‘안시’는 장엄한 산맥에 둘러 쌓여 있고, 호수에서 멋진 파노라마 뷰를 감상할 수 있다. 기원전 18,000 년 전에 형성된 ‘안시 호수’ (Lac d’Annecy)는 프랑스에서 두번째로 큰 27,59 km² 면적의 자연 호수이자 유럽에서 물이 가장 깨끗한 호수로 유명하다.
“고백록 Confessions”의 ‘장 자크 루소’(Jean-Jacques Rousseau)가 ‘바랑스 부인’(Madame de Warens)을 만났던 구시가지의 꾸불꾸불한 골목길을 정처 없이 걸어 보기를 강추! 매주 화요일과 일요일 오전에 열리는 전통 시장이 볼만하다.
팔레 드 릴 Le Palais de L'Île
호수 북쪽 끝에 ‘티우’(le Thiou) 강 입구에 ‘안시’ 성주의 성으로 12세기에 세워진 ‘팔레 드 릴’(Palais de l’ile)은 더욱 요새화된 언덕위의 성으로 성주가 옮겨가면서 18세기까지 감옥으로 사용되었다가 현재는 각종 전시회와 역사 박물관으로 사용된다.
맞은편에는 ‘생 프랑스와 드 살’ 교회(Eglise Saint-François 1652)가 ‘티우’ 강 관문역할을 한다.
안시 성 Château d'Annecy
12세기에 시작하여 16세기에 완공된 ‘안시 성’(Château d ‘Annecy)은 현재는 박물관으로 개방되어, 각종 유물과 ‘사부아’(Savoie)지방의 역사박물관으로 사용된다.
칼뱅주의 종교개혁이 돌풍처럼 서유럽을 휩쓸던 1535년 제네바의 주교 ‘생 프랑스와 드 살’(Saint François de Sales, 1567-1622)이 이곳에 부임하여(1602-1620) ‘안시’를 반종교개혁의 중심지로 삼으며 ‘성모 방문회’(Ordre de la Visitation de Sainte-Marie)를 창설한다.
프랑스 대혁명 이후, ‘나폴레옹 1세’에 의하여 ‘사부아 백작령’을 프랑스에 합병하였고, 부르봉 왕정복고로 다시 ‘사부아 공국’(Duché de Savoie)으로 자치권을 획득하였다. 이후 ‘사르데냐 왕국’ Royaume de Sardaigne (1720-1861)에 소속되었다가 1860년 ‘토리노 조약’(Traité de Turin )이 체결되어 완전히 프랑스 영토가 되었다.

Annecy, the capital of Haute-Savoie in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of southeastern France, is a water city called the “Venice of the Alps” and is surrounded by majestic mountain ranges. And you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view from the lake. ‘Lac d’Annecy’, formed around 18,000 BC, is the second largest natural lake in France with an area of 27,59 km² and is famous for having the cleanest water in Europe.
I highly recommend taking a walk aimlessly through the winding alleys of the old town where Jean-Jacques Rousseau in “Confessions” met Madame de Warens! The traditional market held every Tuesday and Sunday morning is worth a visit.
Palais de L'Île
The 'Palais de l'ile' was built in the 12th century as a castle for the lord of Annecy at the mouth of the 'le Thiou' river at the northern end of the lake. As the lord moved to a more fortified hilltop castle, the 18th century. It was used as a prison until the 20th century, but is now used as a various exhibition and historical museum.
On the opposite side, the ‘Saint-François de Sal’ Church (Eglise Saint-François 1652) serves as a gateway to the ‘Thieu’ River.
