Peugeot 5008 best large family car, seven seats, economical: Peugeot 5008 Review & Road Test

It would be futile to ignore the call of the modern SUV, so when Peugeot’s designers sat down to design the all new seven seater Peugeot 5008, fortunately they chose to abandon its predecessor’s MPV styling in favour of a much bolder & more solid design. They did likewise with the 5008’s smaller sibling, the Peugeot 3008, with huge success.
Power for the 5008 comes in the form of two petrol engines, both turbocharged - a 129bhp 1.2-litre and a 179bhp 1.6-litre - and a range of diesels. Of these, the 1.5-litre BlueHDi engine with 128bhp is the most economical. A 2.0-litre diesel engine with 175bhp - completes the diesel line-up. The most powerful petrol and diesel engines are only available with automatic gearboxes. The 129bhp 1.5-litre diesel returns up to 57.3mpg and emits from 139g/km of CO2.
The 5008 is a comfortable car which can handle all but the worst roads thanks to its supple and absorbent suspension. However, it does roll a little heavily in corners and the steering doesn't offer a lot of feedback about what’s happening with the front wheels.
Rear-seat space is slightly limited and if you go for the panoramic sunroof, anyone over 6ft sitting in the second row will find headroom a bit tight. Third row seats are very easy to access, but are really designed for kids. Just like the 3008, the 5008 has an impressive looking dash and instrument panel, featuring Peugeot’s new i-Cockpit instrument display as standard.
The 5008 is a large, practical and extremely easy to live with SUV. I suggest a test drive so you can make your own mind up.

The boot autocloses when you swipe your foot under the sensor at the back...the parcel shelf fits in behind the 2 extra seats.
Roll up panel goes behind the 2 seats (space in the side panels) Large feet will trigger the sensor, i have it also while standing... ;-)

I’ve got the gtline premium 1.2 petrol and it does pull fully loaded , I love this car best I’ve had and I’ve had a lot of motors .

Looking to get the very same, how is the 1.2 for overtaking, particularly on motorways, when heavy? All I've heard is really positive reviews of the 1.2 puretech but it just sounds too good to be true. Doing a test drive to hopefully see for myself, but no guarantee it'll be in the 1.2.

I’ve test driven a 5008. It’s a great car. Incredibly versatile. I think it’s too close a call between this and a Kia Sorento!!

You probably triggert the "kick to open" sensor underneath the back bumper of the car 😂 that's why the boot lid shut by itself, it has nothing to do with you pressing a button on the key. You should've known that that was an option on the 5008.

His tail gate automatically shut and hit his head before. He wasn't sure if it was this car's fault, the whole 5008 common issue or mistakenly pushed key to close it. It didn't happen in this video. That means probably he pushed that key to close it in the past.
3008 for me, all that for those tow extra seats

You are not in the top model that is the GT you are in the lower model GT line.............. for a start the GT has all leather seats. I know I have one and it's great.

My wife and I bought ours in Beijing, China. Great car (and cheaper here). Have leather seats too, but not GT. It's one below GT, but just called the 'luxurious' trim(豪华） Have most of the other options mentioned included, except the wireless charging and tables on the back of the seats. Metallic green does show parking lot dings though. :-(
Poor Colour selection. !! Had earlier 3008 loved it BUT its all about appearance for me. White grey or black 😴😴😴😴😴😴😴
