Had a 306 LeMans for 2 years..bought it second hand and the first thing to replace is the gear knob...not expensive..but when I came to part shop the shopkeeper told me..if the gear knob exposed to sun and the car itself never parked in a good shade and your palm extremely oily that knob will merely survive for 2-3 years...and I live in Indonesia..when the sun always shine 11-12 hours a day...tropical climate and oily hands...and yes...2 year later it cracked.. 😅
