Petty Cash Book
#hstutorial PETTY CASH BOOK - The basic idea of this system is that the chief cashier gives the petty cashier a fixed amount of cash to meet his needs for the required field. This fixed sum is known as CASH FLOAT usually given at the beginning of the period.

Just clarifying, I thought the 5,000 had been used during the transactions. I expected the bal b/d to be 970 which would be topped up with more 4,030! Please clarify. Otherwise thanks, this is so helpful.

chi amaka Sundry expenses are costs incurred for small things that can not be categorized under a specific heading. They are usually infrequent, considerably low, miscellaneous in nature & are not classified under a specific ledger account.

Thank you for this class, but I will like you to clear me on the bal c/d, I thought it will be the difference between the cash at the beginning of the month and the total transaction for the month, this should balance the petty cashbook

marcia chemutai 😊😊😊 I will. I'm so happy that you got value from the lecture. I wish you success 📈
Totally agreed with the postings, however the balance c/d and b/d is not appropriate.c/d and b/d should be 970 after deducting 4030 from 5000. Therefore your opening balance for next month is 970. Thanks.
Thanks too
This was so helpful thanks I want to become the best accounts student in my class

Poke Man I wish you the best
Ok, I love the postings, and I'm not so good in accounting My question is, the float which is 5000 is suppose to be the cash inburse for the petty expenses right? Which is why it is recorded on the debit side.... And we later spend 4,030 for the expenses...is the expenses not suppose to be minus from the float, which I believe it's the cash imbursed, why sum it up? To me our b/d should be 970... Pls make me understand...I'm open to learning... thanks.
Thank you!

A very useful video. Thank you so very much. I used this video while preparing for my Business studies examination. Please help to clarify the c/d aspect. I feel the 5,000 was used in the transaction. Why was it added to the total amount spent instead of subtracting?
Thank you for the lectures. they are really helping me so much.but now kindly requesting you to do for me income statement, balance sheet

I’m confuse in the balancing, are we not suppose to deduct the total from the float and use the difference as the balance b/d as we did in the others cs that’s what I find in my book pls clarify it to me
I’m a little confused 😕 My teacher told me there’s ways in which you can work this when balancing off She said you can find the difference between the float and the total. My question to you is, is there really another way to balance off? Or is what my teacher told me is accurate? Great video by the way sir🇬🇾
Do a video on depreciation and disposal as it it a very difficult topic most including me struggle with

Hi thanks, like one person has commented below, i thought the bl c/d would be (5000-4030=970) since the receipt side has to be bigger than the transaction side, please clarify.
I loved this.could you do trading profit and loss account?
