I would quite like to know to what extent dogs and cats are capable of abstract thinking. Example: Based on a comparison with the background, a person is able to tell how big an animal is on television without seeing the animal in reality. One is also able to imagine oneself on the screen in the appropriate size. Is a cat or dog able to understand how big the animals they see on TV are ? Will the animal be more afraid of the big picture of a sheep standing next to a tree or the small picture of a Bear standing next to the same tree?

It depends. Just like there are dumn people and smart ones. The difference is huge. One of my cats likes watching TV and playing with toys. The other one shows interest only in real life stuff. She stopped playing toys when she grew old. She prefers chasing mice, birds and me :))) and she's absolutely indifferent to whatever is on TV

The impact of humanity on creatures has speed up their evolution to a fantastic, unbelievable, unnatural speed. After the year 2200 well go from thinking they understand our human speech to a consensus they do. As in near equality like an adult parent and a toddler. By mid 2200 pets will be enhanced like humanity and regular conversation will take place by each of certain species supplemented for missing brain mass and common abilities.

My brothers cat, Earl, once sat with us as we were watching Aliens. At the part were the alien queen first shows up and shows her face and makes that creepy hissing noise at Ripley, Earl got so scared; he slammed his head into the pillow he was lying on and hissed and spat in fear before he simply jetted out of the room.

My cats only watch nature documentaries. When I’m watching sitcoms or the news they’re never interested. But once they see Planet Earth their eyes are glued to the TV lol.

When I was young I believed that dogs and cats couldn't see 2D objects and only had black and white vision, but on old CRT televisions the frame rate wasn't high enough for cats and dogs, now cats and dogs are reacting to what's on the television. Just shows when the expects thing their know something how wrong they can be. I think Cats and Dogs can see themself in mirrors aswell.

We're getting close to the day when that famous Cleveland Dogpound 🐕 in the stadium 🏟️ endzone is actually reserved for dogs. Felines will also get the opposite endzone so as to not bother dogs. 😊
