Petrified Forest National Park | VanLife Adventures
We head into the Petrified Forest National Park for some hiking adventures! First a hike to the Onyx Bridge then a late lunch break and off for another hike before ending just outside the south entrance for an overnight camp at the gift shop! More hikes next time!
As always, I appreciate you watching!
About Me - Said peace out to corporate America, a mortgage and a schedule and signed on to the open road, freedom, adventure and working seasonally. I like to bike, boat (kayak/packraft) and backpack along the way! Most videos are on my adventures along the way but will also be doing a series of gadgets and gizmos of travel! The micro world fascinates me the most…which you’ll quickly realize in my videos. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Awe, thanks!! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful - thanks for taking us along with you all.
Amazing place that you captured beautifully. Can't help but wonder what it looked like millions of years ago when it was green. Who knows what history lies in all the layers of rock and soil. Certainly hope we are not looking into the future of things to come. This is such a gorgeous planet and we need to take better care of it. Caught those glimpses of Brian. Happy to see you sharing the adventure together. Thank you for sharing with us. Appreciate your generosity. 💖

I too always wonder what it would have looked like… And what it will look like down the road…
Epiphany moment - I've been following you for a few months now and also Brian for about a year. I do remember Brian talking about his girlfriend Kelly but I didn't connect the two of you until this video. Awesome!

Happy to have my freedom again for a bit but will do a few videos on the job!
They were giving samples of the Petrified wood at the gift shop at the free campin place near there. Super interesting how the trees got Petrified and the history of that transformation.

Wow, I didn’t know you could hike through the petrified forest and painted desert! I was there 20 years ago only by car. I’ll have to revisit that area for sure! Thanks for a great video.
Beautiful Kelly!

I really enjoyed the petrified forest. Too bad you can’t overnight there in one of those beautiful parking lots
Kelly, I think we were there about the same time. Pretty awesome. The things you learn while traveling is amazing. Did you get to go to Holbrook and see the old cars and cement teepees? That is pretty fun too. When we drove through there was a Volkswagen bug tuned into a camper. Enjoy your day.

How long does it take for the trees to petrify?
@briansmith054
2 жыл бұрын
Thought I would google it!!! It takes millions of years for petrified wood to form. The process begins when wood is buried quickly and deeply by water and mineral-rich sediment, removing it from a high-oxygen environment. This slows the process of decomposition nearly to a halt, letting the minerals in the water and sediment seep into the wood.
Sorry, Kelly, but I had a hard time following your adventure. Your panning was too fast and erratic. I want to see your adventures, but I find that I am constantly adjusting the volume.

I film and edit solely on my phone so there isn’t much control on volume (even when editing). I will change to editing on a computer at some point but isn’t in the cards right now. Sorry, maybe check back in 6 months, maybe it will be better! 🤷🏻♀️
