Lyrics:
This one's for North Carolina! C'mon and raise up
Take your shirt off, twist it 'round yo head
Spin it like a helicopter
North Carolina! C'mon and raise up
This one's for you, uh-huh, this one's for who?
Us, us, us, yes sir!

This is one of Petey’s timeless classics and I still have the original CD. There’s something about this song not as many people might appreciate as the song itself though So lifelong career sound engineer here, I record and mix several different genres… what tf ever happened to hiphop being PROFESSIONALLY recorded and mixed like this? 🤔 Like taking the time to step into a real multi million dollar recording facility-which your record contract is already paying the hourly rate for anyways-and having a skilled engineer deal with the mix. The mixdown for this track is fucking spectacular and flawlessly balanced. Even most big name rappers today record vocals in their bedroom with no acoustic treatment and have their homie mix it. That shits gotta stop. Bring back hiphop mixes that sound like THIS. Done fking right
My wife keeps getting mad. Were watching the polls live and everytime they say north Carolina, I say. Come on and raise up!

I’m from the West Coast but shout out to North Carolina for giving us Stephen Curry . Respect ✊ ✊
The way I was from North Carolina, Ohio when this song came on at Homecoming.
This should be the state song for NC

Any way God gave me Hook and verse I just need sit down take some bullshit out ... James Keith Coleman McBride AKA Breezy ,, 850-368-2596..
I just saw Petey Pablo perform at a concert tonight in Raleigh. It was awesome to be able to experience this song live, as someone that always heard and loved it when it first came out years ago. Never thought that would happen. I'm already from NC, but I think I'm certified now. 😆

But I miss the Ric Flair "That's a Carolina Hurricanes Goal... WOO!" Bit. That connected with me a lot since I love wrestling and ice hockey. Just, following the song, you can throw that bit in.
If you was outside during this era, you got built in Swag.. still dripping in 2024

This was the Petey we needed. This album was dope and he spot some fire and then he got all fucked up and got some dope beats and just talked calmly saying some nasty shit

I think I was probably around 8-10yo when this song came out. I was a little white girl jamming out to this when no one was home, having the time of my life delving into a world I knew nothing about.
I lived thru this era of music where every genre had good music..now everything sucks
Everytime I hear North Carolina I think of Petey Pablo.. Pray for those in North Carolina who are dealing with hurricane Matthew
I'm about to turn 18 years old. Spent my first 9 years in Roxboro, NC and the other 9 years in Durham and the next 4 in Greensboro at NC A&T Family has this blasting at every cookout til this day.

I remember when this dropped. I entered the 6 grade 2001. I am southwest Florida boy but this song had me feeling like i was from North Carolina. Some dope songs came out that year. Ugly buy Bubba Sparxxx kids beaten on lunch tables singing in my projects by coco cal. 2001 was a dope year.
Listen the best times I ever had growing up was in the Carolinas. My fathers folks are from Statesville NC and my mothers side is from Edgefield SC. I loved my life as a child spending them country summers eating good, playing with my cousins and getting burned up in that country sun. I miss those times!!!!!
Delirious brought me here.
