I take a look at the ruins of Peterwell / Ffynonbedr manor house in Lampeter / Llambed and tell the story of its evil landlord, the Baronet Sir Herbert Lloyd MP and his murderous plot to have an innocent man hanged only to gain a field. While I had heard the sad story as a local legend in my childhood in Lampeter, the historical details of the House and Sir Herbert Lloyd are told in the highly recommended book, 'Peterwell- the history of a mansion and its infamous squire' by Bethan Phillips, available from Amazon-
