Back in the day (70's & 80's) I considered myself a damn good bass trombonist. However, I pale in comparison to this guy, and others who are able to play this Fly or Die piece. Great job!

@@PeterSteinerOfficial Did some more listening to your youtube channel and went to your website. I see we have at least two things in common: We have both performed Tommy Pederson's Cogent Caprice and we have both played with the symphony in Denver, Colorado (when I played with them in the late 70's, it was the Denver Symphony Orchestra...prior to the name change in 1989). I stopped playing in 2010...just didn't have it in me anymore. However, I gladly surrendered to the likes of you, and those like you, who make the trombone and bass trombone a glorious instrument!

I can't decide who I like better, Lionel or Peter. Lionel hit bass notes better, but Peter had better tone and better dynamics. Both are crazy good though.

After listening to them carefully I think that Peter has something more in the precision and speed of execution. The low notes are better because Lionel uses a low trombone.

I was thinking the same thing, I'm not sure if it's the player or just the acoustics (I'm not qualified to be talking about this.), but I think the piano in this sounds better than the live Lionel Fumeaux Version, It certainly sounded great. Additionally, with the Trombone, I favor the acoustics, I like Peter's sound, and I personally prefer it over the original as well. Though Fumeaux has become a role model for me in recent months, and I think both versions have their own benefits to them. I just prefer the way that this was written. But I think the piano in this gave it a huge bonus from the original, because this piano is a lot smoother and blends much better with the piece. Over all, I think this was an amazing performance by both of them, one of the best solo performances I've heard In a while.
