No question about Sellers being excellent at pulling off accents, as a matter of fact a fair amount of his career has revolved around that outstanding skill. What I find extremely annoying though, is the portrayal of the mobster-looking Italian which Hollywood seems to like so much and has in fact overused through the years. Sellers' Italian dude here could well be straight out of Good Fellas or the Soprano series.

@@DeirdreMcNamara It's fair to say that over the past two and a half years, the powerhouses that control and rule the world have been cheating, lying, manipulating and misleading the vast majority of people inhabiting the planet. Apart from the French, who vigorously and consistently protested in 2021against the outrageous restrictions that were forced upon us all (they must have a revolutionary drive in their DNA), the rest of the world has remained silent and compliant. Italians are no exception.

@@fabriziomorris5320 Well, Sellers was English, and English actors brilliantly play subtlety within subtlety. I get into trouble with that a LOT in the USA where everything is "on the table" -well, supposedly, but Americans don't do subtlety. What I see in Sellers is a parody of a parody. He is, to me, making fun of Ho'wood's desire to stereotype and knock anything that is not of their cliques and cliches. Personally I think it strange that two of the world's most brilliant parodists, ie Sellers and Benny Hill both died suddenly as UK was running scared (from PIRA terrorism) into the EU. I would Looove to see them take on that lot in Brussels!

Oh quit with the "tortured genius" crap - unless you mean "tortured" by mediocrities or political nasties either envious or threatened by their brilliant wit and insights. Or as in the case of Van Gogh, "gaslighted" by his brother, Theo, storing away Vincent's great works in order to increase their value. "Here's a few guilders, Vince, buy your self some white rice and cheap wine...and if that lady really loves you, she'll wait..." NASTY. For many of the 0.0000001% the issue is envy and malnutrition. Peter did extremely well, full of fun, joy, energy, never stopped working, however...

Teri Garr...I found you. Ned Wynn wrote about Teri in his autobio about him being raised by Keenen Wynn, having Ed Wynn as his grandfather, and dabbling in the center of every scene in the sixties and seventies. That includes the drug scene, the motorcycle scene, the beach scene, the rock scene, the Yogi scene, the movie scene, all from the very beginnings. Teri was way bright and was coming up with lines like, "It's a lovely first wedding." The book is called We Will Always Live In Beverly Hills, and It's wonderful.
