CQC training is not for the faint of heart. First off you will never come out of a fight untouched so get used to being thrown around and bruised up a little or dont practice this stuff at all. Peter Sciarra, nice techniques, love the intensity, keep up the great work, need more teachers like you who teach techniques that actually work. No bullshit, straight forward stuff. Nice.

I teach Krav and combatives as well here in states. I love these ICS guys. Lots of real good combatives in the UK and Australia. If you haven't checked out Lee Morrison in the UK, check his stuff out.All good things.

Hi,what we do is called 'Close Quarter Combat'.it is not a sport..we basically use anything that works and helps us survive. Our techniques and strategies are drawn from many different martial arts.

I can certainly vouch for the effectiveness of these techniques. It looks almost identical to the Urban Krav Maga I practice here in the UK. Good work!

@AsnTigerzz Repetition. We start off slow and get the technique right, then start doing it in real time motion. Every hour lesson (doubled on 2 hour lessons) we work on between 5-10 def moves, so after doing it over and over again, it becomes like second-nature

@AsnTigerzz I train with peter u should weaken them up with a variety of different strikes such as a palm strike, elbow or a knee before a takedown. Hope this helped!

I'm a krav maga instructor in the U.S. and I have to say, I love your striking and overall technique. You approach it with the same brutal, straight forward effectiveness that krav employs. If I lived in Australia, I'd definitely come and check you out. Keep up the good work.

From what this clip shows, there is a great economy of motion. I really liked the defense against the sidearm draw (how many people carry in a standard hip configuration though?). But I would love to see more of this than just the set ups shown. I like what I've seen so far, but I'm still not convinced.

That looks like an effective self defense. But I have a question: After blocking the opponent's arm when he stabbed with a knife, why not counter him with a punch in the face instead of taking him to the ground?

Thats something i was wondering about too. But I think that maybe it's too much of a risk that the punch makes the attacker fall to the ground and therefore much more difficult to control the knife. So maybe it's safer to take him to the ground in the way where you're able to control him best. Again, I'm not sure if that's the reson.

1234; we need a better way of learning than just following steps. Because it might not work in a street fight; things happen too fast.

Great comment. How many times will our attackers follow the steps we were taught? In real life, none to many.

Hurting students with the intent to make a point how "effective" or "brutal" your system is nonsense. And instructors who do this show that they are amateurs. Your training partner is your friend, you respect a friend. The roughness in training needs to be slowly introduced and increased just as you toughen your shinbones slowly. If u still practice under that KM "hooligan" I would say look elsewhere. Getting pounded on like that has nothing to do with professional RBSD.

This techniques presentation isn't brutal at all. It needs to look like that to be effective. You should go to some intermediate or advance mma training class and try to survive for a 15 minut sparring, then multiply your fillings by 3... this will be similar to real life attack. You need to be in a fight to know how to fight. And come on broken nose could happened in a basketball match!!
