    +Mak Muk How come he was one of the few who predicted the housing bubble when Bernanke, the entire FED and basically all economists with fancy degrees from the finest schools were not aware of what was going on? How come a "simple" guy like Peter Schiff saw it years in advance and the FED did not? Or are you denying this fact too? Keep on sticking your head in the sand. The truth can be really hard to handle when one refuses to see the reality.

So what you are saying is that the entire last decade is going according to Krugman's plan. Krugman even called Greenspan - Greenspansan. Yes, Greenspan would need to create a bubble which would lead to a crash which would lead to a Japanese style recovery. I guess you think that Krugman was wrong? Krugman was analyzing what Greenspan would need to do; Krugman did not say that a bubble followed by a crash followed by a Japanese style slow motion recovery was a good thing.

    Bill Janksy nothing you said has disproved schiff. We’re seeing hyperinflation in the stock market, that’s why it’s at 26 or 27k. That inflation will make its way to the grocery store too. 2: gold doesn’t just go from 1200 to 5,000 overnight. Once the end is near (nobody can put a date and time on it), gold will run up. It has tested 1550 already. 3: the unemployment numbers are doctored just like the CPI. unemployment and inflation are higher than reported as you know. 4: QE 4 just happened now. How did peter know it would happen? Well, look at the title of the video.

    Janet Yellen in her comments after the Fed meeting and at UMass was wringing her hands like she's scared to death about downward pressure on inflation like we're all going to die without 2 percent inflation. What in holy crap is so wonderful about 2 percent inflation and why does she refer to low oil prices as a "headwind" against inflation, as though low oil prices are a bad thing. Listening to this woman or any Keynesian makes my freaking head hurt. It's somehow good when my cost of living goes up and bad if it goes down. It's like 2 percent inflation is the holy grail or something.

    BarrySlisk Schiff is confused. The Fed will raise rates because the banks want a rate hike to increase the net interest margin. Net interest margin is at a historic low. That's banks profits. research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/series/USNIM Schiff does not understand monetary policy which is why he is always predicting hyperinflation and a dollar collapse. Neither are possible. It's like predicting a volcano in Iowa. Here is a nice taken down of Schiff by a libertarian who subscribes to the idiotic Austrian school: www.economicpolicyjournal.com/2015/09/the-absurd-idea-that-fed-is-not-going.html

  • @gregcollins3404
    @gregcollins34048 жыл бұрын

    Peter - I'm on your side, you are right. However, to me your explanation is not resonating so well. How about adding in how the success of all this monetary stimulus is dependent on it being temporary. Everyone knows (or at least used to know) that monetary stimulus cannot be permanent - that it is a gamble to "jump start" the economy. You can't keep running the engine forever with the jumper cables still hooked up. Trouble is - we've gotten away with this keynsian jump starting a couple times in the past and now it is widely believed. Well, how long can you "temporarily" leave the jumper cables hooked up before you decide the engine has got a real problem? How long can you crank the dead engine before the "reserve" battery is dead? How long after you've entered the roach motel before your realize that there is no exit? If you gamble on a temporary jump start and it doesn't work and you use up your reserves, now you are really in trouble with a dead engine and a dead battery - with a dead economy and dead credit. Yellen and the FED are like the common dumbass driver, broke down in traffic just cranking and cranking on their starter until the battery gives out.

    Peter Schiff's New Year's Resolution And His 2015 Investment Strategy By Daniela Cambone and Sarah Benali of Kitco News Friday December 12, 2014 3:20 PM How would you invest $100, 000 in 2015? Stressing that everyone needs to do due diligence and invest based on their current situation, Peter Schiff says he plans to invest most of it in international stocks, gold and mining stocks. “Right now, I think gold stocks are so cheap that you can put a higher percentage than you normally would allocated to that sector,” Schiff told Kitco News. He added, that it does not mean mining stocks are at a bottom but investors need to be able to ride it out. “I believe that the rewards will be phenomenal for people who can stomach the volatility. But make sure that you’re willing to risk losing money. And if you are willing to take the risk, I think that the risk will be rewarded as long as you’re patient.” What to absolutely avoid? “I don’t think money should be in dollars, I don’t think it should be in treasuries.” Schiff says. He adds that the U.S. stock market is overvalued. “I think a lot of inflation is coming and I think the dollar is going to lose a lot of value … [Y]ou need to look at international equities and you need to look at precious metals.” LMFAO****************************

    +olli tuovinen Once again? When was Schiff right last time? Did hyperinflation occur? Did the price of oil go to 200$ a barrel? Did gold go to 5000$ an ounce? Did China dump the dollar?? People who follow Peter Schiff really sound like a cult...

    If you don't believe anything he says you have to admit one thing. IF our economy can NOT stand a quarter of a percent we have NO, let me be clear here NO WAY IN HELL do we have a recovery!!!!!!!! Nor will we, NO ONE, nor can any nation EVER pay this much money back.

    +knickell50 The economy _can_ weather a quarter point. The point is why do it when inflation is below target? When the Fed raises the rate in December, will you drop this silliness? Hell no. You'll say .25 doesn't matter, it's the same thing as zero, blah, blah, blah, and it'll be a different argument for thinking the exact same thing.

    +Bill Janksy The point is we are robbing peter to pay paul. There are some of that were frugal and saved our entire lives looking forward to a fair return. Instead they use our money for free and prop up the market for the rich and for the greedy. This is pure bullshit and if you don't see that I am sorry. Yes .25 doesn't make much different but it is a start and better than zero. IF an investment cant make money to pay interest those investments should NOT be made and making the too big to fail banks bigger is asinine. Unless you are a rich banker of course. No silliness involved in paying a fair price for your money. You don't like people getting FREE food. No one sells us cars for free or takes care of our health needs for free. You are beyond silly you are foolish and selfish if you want those of us that worked hard and saved and sacrificed to keep on so you can have a fun time screwing around in the fkng markets.

    knickell50 Oh, please. Spare me the lecture. You want the Fed to raise rates so the economy falls apart and your gold goes up. If you are trying to live off savings account interest, you're a nitwit.

    +Bill Janksy Certainly you may call me whatever names you want, immature people got us to where we are today. Buy why do you think you should get free money to get rich and I have to furnish it? Please bring me a bag of groceries for free. What kind of a spoiled brat you must be to expect free money! I borrowed and paid interest my entire life in order to keep my business going. When you have expenses it teaches you to make your business successful. I could NEVER imagine getting free money when I was young. What makes you so special to get free money? When you grow up maybe you will understand better. I do not want the Fed to rasie rates for the economy to fall apart. IT already has fallen apart it is only held together with free money on the back of frugal, hard working, honest people. NO honest people in the banks or politics. Since the beginning of time economies cycle up and down, good and bad, that's the way it goes. Why is this generation so special they have to be propped up forever? By the way that is not going to happen. EVENTUALLY its coming down and the longer we wait the farther it will fall. I will chuckle when it finally happens but it will not help of course. By the way I actually do not have any gold. You don't have to have gold to read and listen and study and learn and remain aware of what is going on in the world.

    you should do a little more research about what you claim, the truth of the matter is if you don't have gold in your hands you have NOTHING. The GOLD market is leveraged out to the tune of 220+ ounces for every single ounce known to exist.
