Saw Rare Earth in Chicago in 1978. Great!! Peter Rivera never got the acclaim that he deserved!! Great rock voice!!

I hope people appreciate how pristine and beautifully this man's voice has aged over the years. He's singing these songs in their original keys, hitting all the notes, and still possesses the vocal power that gave these classics their trademark sound. I had the chance to correspond with Pete several years ago and asked him what his secret was to maintaining that voice. If I'm remembering correctly, he told me "lots of water and exercise."

Too acoustic for me Rare Earth was a Rock band for crying out loud!!! Rather see him on the drrums... Watered down rock doesn't sound good

I didn’t listen to Rare Earth all the time, but when I did my neighbors did too.

went to my local watering hall on a Wed. night in the mid 80's in WPB,FL.Doorman say $2 cover charge.Surprised I ask who could be playing "THIS" joint on a Wed. night,sorta chuckling.He say some older R&R band big in the 70's.To my absolute delight it was Rare Earth.Maybe 50 people were there,They played like they were at the Californian Jam.One of the best live shows I ever seen.Talent and true professional made it a magical night.

From CUBA. Rare Earth, one of my 3 preferred bands ever. Songs as Ma and Loosing you must be inscribed in the list of greatest songs played ever. The time of the greatest music, musicians and shows ever. Peter was a F. Great Singer at that time BUT NOW he sings better than ever. THIS IS WHAT I CALL MUSIC.

I saw them 49 years ago tonight. March 21st, 1974, in the tiny Memorial Gymnasium at Quincy College, Quincy, IL. I was 15 years old. They KILLED it that night! Probably at their peak. "Big John" was performed with less funk, and all out rock. I remember, because I have a rough, crude, but priceless bootleg. I took in a Panasonic recorder and one Memorex tape. They played Quincy. Then, maybe three weeks later, the California Jam. Those were the days!

That voice is so powerful and brings back a great flood of memories... Rare Earth had so much soul.. and man could they play their instruments.... I saw them live at their apex and they were impressive... Still listen to their live album ...

Have always liked Pete and his voice is as good today as it was back then---love hearing him keep on singing!! A true Legend!!

Good LORD I miss the 70'S

This band was my favorite since way back in the 70’s when I was in High School. Saw them perform in 1973 at The Hammond Civic Center in Hammond, Indiana.

I was born in 74 and Rare Earth is my favorite band - u see what is transported is timeless. For me this Band and Peter Rivera as (an) inspiring force behind the band brings this feeling of the endless journey and life as a journey into this world like no other.

1970=all again love this song was very big while in the Navy 1968 to 1988

It's unf...ngbelievable how his voice is the same as when I heard those songs for the first time, I was in high school in Cuba and the dictatorship forbid that radio stations play music in English except in a couple of short shows that "coincidentally" fell during class time, and even then thet played maybe 4 songs interspersed with comments about the "evils" of capitalism and how bad it was in the USA. We would skip those classes just to listen to those shows, and Rare Earth was a fixture in them. We didn't know English or the titles so we called "Losing You" like Your lovely face, because it sounded like the starting phrase. Oh man it's so far and hearing him brought all those memories. THAK YOU PETE!!

Ok. Why am I only hearing about Peter Rivera and Rare Earth in 2021. I'm a huge Beatles and CCR fan. In terms of listening pleasure and virtuosity, RE are awesome. Their second album, Get Ready (Sept ’69) is a gem.

One of the great voices of rock and roll. Peter is a rock and roll treasure.

Its so wondérful that Peter has been able to keep his voice. Sounds the same as ever! Love it!

Saw him with Mike Pinera and the organist from Sugarloaf and bassist from Cannibal and the Headhunters when they toured as the Rock n Roll all Stars. What a show!!!

He is still the best ! I loved this !

5th grade, my first album was Ecology. I still sing along.

What a great voice after all these years. Rare Earth will never be the same without him.

Saw them @ seland arena 1974 in Fresno CA. Best ever consert. He's still got the voice that is magnificent.

Looks like your still having fun, great sounds has always. I would like to see this show out on a CD. God Bless.
