i love peter hook. i just love him. he's like zeus and a teddy bear in the same body. he is so fucking cool, and is responsible for some of the absolute best songs and basslines and performances in the history of modern music, and yet he's so sweet and calm and unassuming and damn huggable. pure genius x

After watching this video, I must say that I am glad that Peter Hook pursued music and not the car scrap business.

Thanks for sharing this. I have a whole new level of respect for Peter Hook. From what I just watched, he is a sincere and honest guy with an up and down struggle in the music business. Prior to this, I read him in articles as "the prick" of New Order. Now I feel otherwise. I can imagine, it's hard to see eye to eye with other band mates for so many years and they have had their struggles. Love your bass lines Hooky, the tones you made really made the songs you helped write. All the best to you and your future! Hopefully you are financial well

+permaveg You won't be saying that in another month when their new LP's released, their best album since Technique, they're really back on form.

@@grizcuz I heard it's their best since Vauxhall and I. Technique wasn't all that anyway.

@@MisAnnThorpe Are you trolling? New Order have never released anything called Vauxhall and I, that was by Morrissey. Technique is a masterpiece, mirrored the Balearic vibes seeping into UK music at the time perfectly.

A revealing interview, there is much more to unearth about British culture, Factory, Tony Wilson, Joy Division, Acid House and what it was all really about. If Dominic is still interested, get in touch

At around 12 minutes he let his guard down, I was making porridge. Listening, I stopped and I homed in. Why? Because I am writing an album, I like what he said about working with other people. About the compromise. What a genuine fella! It’s regrettable what the accountant said. Who would have imagined it? But in truth, what a life! Yours is better than most. You kept it all alive Hooky. Good on yah. And for the dude that made this, I am writing music, please take a look at my vids. I walked in the footsteps of giants in Salford. I am attempting to generate funds to continue with my aspirations. It’s good to. Or so I have been told. Play a part in it and help if you would. Be he change you want to see, I am very appreciative.

A lot of the most famous and commercially successful musicians of modern rock came from punk rock...regardless what they took, all of them seem to have gravitated to the ethos and attitude of those first bands....Hooky, Flea, Duff Mckagan, all recall seeing either the pistols, the clash, the ramones, iggy pop, black flag, the descedents, etc etc. Its always really cool and reassuring to hear. Hooky is Hooky. Theres only one Peter Hook. Yes he gets slated by people and in the press for being a twat but listen to him. Hes a very wise man. Not one of these all messed up because of drugs, hes got a head on his shoulders and knew what he wanted in life. Also what a Bass player very underrated. New Orders rise themselves was a very gradual grow process. They belonged to Factory Records a very small label in Manchester and Factory owned the Hacienda Nightclub. New Order literally kept the Hacienda open aslong as it was, as it lost money on a weekly basis. Everyone took drugs so what was point having a bar? Only New Orders record sales and royaltys kept the club afloat. Police wanted the club closed as it attracted trouble, it had numerous court cases against it and was closed a few times before dying in 1997.

He’s just one of those blokes that are annoying. Irritating face. Seems to believe in his own existence. Met Sumner. Really nice guy. This blokes just an ex alcoholic that has become very bitter now he’s sober. Nob.
