Watch Peter Gunn Season 1 Episode 16 The Fuse on BabyBoom
A heavyset man trudges down a quiet neighborhood street, into a dark house, flips on the light-switch, spurring a large group of family and co-workers to yell "Surprise !" It's his birthday, and he generously volunteers to pick up the pizza for the celebration. He's the reform leader of a stevedores' union - when he switches on his car's ignition, the car explodes. The obvious suspect is a mobster who muscles into unions, so the gangster hires Peter Gunn to find the real killer, before the docks explode too.

Makes you wonder how much the food , drinks and cover charge was at Mothers. That's a lot of musicians to pay . Etc. Etc.

Artimus first went to James, but Mr. West was indisposed, so he only THEN consulted with Peter Gunn. 😃

@@chrischeshire6528 ....I agree. The 2nd time around for a popular T.V. series or movie is very seldom, if ever, as good as the original. The time that the original series or movie was made is important to properly understand where society was at that time. The popular shows from the 50's and 60's....especially the 50's, did not have the high-tech special effects and other technology that later shows used. The show had to rely on a good story, good actors/actresses, good dialogue, and good scenery, and good music to hopefully make a particular show successful. For a long time now, too many movies and T.V. shows have relied on too much CGI and violence, poor dialogue and a dumb story. A real good quality movie/show with a great story, good actors/actresses, and well-developed dialogue, is rare and not the norm. Just read comments from many, many people here after watching movies and T.V. shows about so much of today's junk that comes out of the Hollywood cess-pool and how disgusted they are with the crap that Hollywood puts out, and then for comparison, the comments about how much better the older movies and T.V. shows are.

Classic TV, thanks for the upload. Nice -- the trap laid by Gunn to get Maria to summon her partner. Even better -- Mancini's theme music. Trivia dept -- Both Ross Martin and Lola Albright made guest appearances on Columbo.

Ross Martin, Maxine Cooper. She was hot in Kiss Me Deadly. Short and sweet. No fat. Better than a lot of the crap that's on tv now.
