The greatest thing about Peter's exhibition matches would be how much easier it is to learn from watching him. Such efficient fundamentals and I love the hitting form. So snappy but I'm never tired from doing it all the while my friends can never predict it as long as I don't keep a fixed pattern.

When Peter hit the shuttle, the sound is really crisp. I know I know, a lot of it is string tension. But part of it also how crisp you hit it, and make it just sound like music to my ears.

Among all badminton players, I like Peter's game most - you can see him really enjoying the sport, as compared to LCW or LD, who are focused solely on winning. However, I was annoyed by his frequent "joke" breaks. Peter was visibly tired, & he took this opportunity to regain stamina. This became even more apparent in the 2nd set. Still, quite OK game, with a few interesting rallies.

  • @YouKnowYongHwa

+Adwin Putteeraj LD focused only on winning? He won so much already he's starting to get lazy and distracted nowadays lol. Also, just watch LD and LCW play friendly matches or easy games like these, they are always enjoying themselves. Peter Gade can get really intense and frustrated during matches also, especially in losing games.

Get lost yea you're right. I look at Lin Dan these days, and he does look like he's not really playing to win anymore. More like just trying see if he can still hack it with these young guys. But if Lee Hyunil could still do it - judging from his performances in the two recent European tournaments where he beat Axelsen twice in as many weeks - then I suppose Lin Dan is there or thereabouts.

Old Lin Dan seems much slower than Old Peter Gade. If you saw pre knee surgery Peter Gade like before 2002, he was super fast. Comparable to 2008 Lin Dan. Lin Dan has the upper hand in his prime in that he was the only player who could smash his hardest and consistently aim for the lines. Not mention his anticipation was out of this world.

@@Beeterfish oh 2008 Lin Dan would wipe the floor with them no doubt about it. 2016 Chen Long was good but I think prime Momota and Ginting can be compared to prime Chen Long more so that the 4 Kings. I doubt that prime Lee Hyun Il should be left out of the conversation either. His prime self is also note worthy. It's just there were too many good players during his time that he was overshadowed by the better players like the 4 kings. 4 Kings> Prime Lee Hyun Il >Momota/Long/Ginting

@ELFYHO: You are wrong, 2 types of smash, Lin is slice smash. And the record Lee - LD: 12 - 28 proves that Lin Dan is stronger than Lee Chong Wei, you can see clearly in 2008-2011. After that era, Lindan changed to boring style, but if you are play badminton long time, you can see that Lindan's shot is more hard to play against him than Lee.
