I like it without all the busyness & screaming. Peter G could just stand there and sing. The song stands on it’s own - with the his band harmonizing, the original melody & lyric: Love, ‘Whichever way I go I come back to the place you are. All my instincts, they return. The grand facade, so soon will burn. Without a noise, without my pride, I reach out from the inside….. In your eyes. I am complete. In your eyes I see the doorway - (in your eyes) of a thousand churches. In your eyes The resolution - (In your eyes) to all the fruitless searches. In your eyes… Oh, I wanna touch the light, the heat I see in your eyes.’ So beautiful

As others have mentioned, the young woman singing is Paula Cole. And yes, she is an amazing singer in her own right. This song has always been amazing and this live version is by far the best version. Much of the musical influence from this song came from African influence and fits perfectly in this song. To me, this song is a song of hope. Seeing people looking into their eyes without judgement. Just love for your fellow human being no matter where we come from. We are all human and deep down inside, the vast majority of the world is good. We all want the same thing. Music is the universal language. No matter our differences, we can all come together and have a shared experience for a few hours and all of our differences fade away and mean nothing. If we could only hold on to that feeling, the world would be a much better place. Love and respect your fellow human being. We are much closer than we are apart. If we could harness that and put it into action. That continues to be my hope. Thank you for the reaction Jamel. As usual, always great. Stay safe my friend.

I had the pleasure of seeing this tour in-person in Largo, MD (near DC.) It was increible -- I also saw him on the So tour in 1986 (I'm 50 -- so I was 16 when So came out) and it was magic. There are two stages -- round/female and square/male. This song was on the round stage. And crossing the gap between these two is a conveyor belt. Plus, Manu Katche is in the top 5 drummers in the world. One thing to note about this live version -- he added two sections - at the beginning "Accepting all I've done and said/I want to stand and stare again." Those were added after the original release of So in 1986. There's a studio version of the new arrangement as well. The low bass voice was a recording of singer Ronnie Bright. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronnie_Bright Anyway, thank you for your reaction and insight.

When Jamal said it feels more like a spiritual thing is exactly what it was. All 15,000 became one and all you felt was joy and love. God was in that arena that night in my humble opinion.
