Our German teacher put this on in class along with a bunch of other songs, and... I can't tell a word of what he's saying (apart from the title, which if I recall means "everything new") yet I still love it!

This song is motivational as hell and knowing the translation makes it more so. This. This is the stuff. Especially for someone like me: Homeless, out of shape and in rags without ever having done drugs, abusing alcohol or any other of the typical mistakes that lead people here. But I'm starting a new job this coming Monday that will change everything. I've been here before and I sincerely wish this song was there at those times too. I believe I have found my new theme song.

Well I'm not quite out of the woods yet, but doing much better. The job allowed me to get a truck and trailer to live in, though I had to quit it at the end of summer because my previously broken hip was acting up. Ended up getting my hip replaced five years ago and some heart surgery last year. I'm a full-time RVer and I will start snowbirding this fall. I have gone from a crawl to a walk. Hoping to be up and running soon; both literally and metaphorically.

Peter Fox is wonderful and his music makes me happy inside

It's awesome even for native German speakers :) The lyrics are also quite ironic, e.g. when he sings that he has "expensive plans" or that he "goes shopping naked and the brides have something to look at" and the kids in the video just look at him as if he's some kind of weirdo. Some corrections: 'glitters' would be better replaced with 'shines' or 'gleams'. First verse would be more accurately translated to: "I burn my studio, snort the ashes like coke. YourBoi Great translation here, I'm just unsure whether to translate Bräute as brides in this context. A braut can also be a girl with a stunning appearance. Chick could be a translation,but it has a different connotation than “Braut“ in German

The funny thing about that line is, that in the next line he says, "i don't want to lie ever again, i want to mean every sentence". The twist is what makes the line great.

Man, I'm sick of hearing people say things like this. There is so much music being produced today that it is impossible not to find something you love. Spend 15 minutes chasing your favourite artists' favourite bands; read some blogs; ask your friends what they are listening to. The enjoyment you will get from new music is directly proportional to the effort you put in to find it. Ignore the Top 40 and you'll find a whole world of creativity waiting for you!
