Peter Cetera - Glory of Love (Huff Guitar Cover)

Put Cetera and Foster together and you'll always get magic! Dann Huff provides some killer tones and voicings on here and with my new Boss Dimension C pedal, I thought I would give it a go (apparently Dann used the rack version back in the day on this track). I give a demo of my tone at the end as it's not as easy to hear in the track. This is of course my second cover from Solitude/Solitaire, I covered Big Mistake many moons ago but I think I should revisit it now I have a tone that can replicate better what Huff was doing. Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

I use a Charvel DK24 (it's purple) into a Boss Me50 (where I get my tone) into a Boss DC-2w (for my Dimension C Chorus tone) into a Palmer Pdi-09 (which simulated a mic'd up cab) into a Focusrite Scarlett into my computer running Logic Pro X (where I add a little EQ and Reverb and for the WDW setup some micro pitch and stereo delays).

Dan Huff is a great guitarist, singer and producer, and I love the band “Giant”, that he was in!

The guitar riff at 3:11 gives me chills every time. Soft rock at its best!
Amazing as always and he gave the tone demo. Very well rounded and professional kind of dude. Who needs a TV in the house when you got this, I sure don't. This is the only entertainment that keeps me going

I love this. I grew up listening to Dan Huff even though I didn’t know it was him on most records
I always thought Cetera and Chicago had such a clean, romantic sound to them growing up. I was jamming to this when I was 13 back in the early '90s (even though it was older than that already obviously).
One of my all-time favorite songs, and a beautiful cover!

The song has David Foster all over it, which is why it sounds so much like St Elmo's Fire, Hard to Say I'm Sorry and other David Foster hits from that era.

David Foster is an amazing producer, songwiter, and player. He has a signature sound.

Foster co-wrote this but he did not produce or perform on it. That was all Michael Omartian.

Cetera didn't need Chicago. He was developing his own sound with Foster. He wanted to do a solo album, but Chicago didn't support that so he left.

Two very different eras for the band , they sounded nothing like this in the 70s but had there biggest success with songs like this in the 80s , kinda like Van Halen with Roth and then Hager.
I grew up listening to the same bands you cover, and as an amateur guitarist I’ve always been fascinated when watching exceptionally talented guitarists like you cover these songs. I have always wanted to see the fingers on the fretboard playing those incredible solos .. It would be similar to a painter interested in watching how each stroke was made while Van Gogh was creating one of his masterpieces from a blank canvas to completion. That’s the the best way to explain it, I’m sure you probably understand. Your videos are the best I’ve ever seen! Subbed! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Ya got one hell of an ear dude. Amazing talent to be able to figure this out. A local guitar great once told me if you can hum it, you can play it. I finally just decided I sucked and I didn’t have it, regardless of my lofty dreams of rock star badness. I actually got pretty decent, but looking back, I think my biggest obstacle was laziness.
Ahhhh when music videos still mattered and soundtracks helped make some movies. I can still see this video as soon as I hear it. You just broke six sheets of ice and mastered the drum technique 👍💪🍻
Another all time Dann Huff classic. Amazing cover. Whenever I think about a perfect example for those la session clean tones, this is one of the songs that is a perfect demonstration of it.

Dan Huff is an underrated genius on guitar....not sure if you have done any Giant covers (especially from the second album, "Time to Burn"), but they would be a lot of fun to play. Your Starship covers are killer BTW.
