I was poor when I grew up, and it was difficult, though I didn't know it, making it easier. My married life from 31 to 61 was a trial, my ex-spousal unit treated me with SO much contempt, but I stayed to protect two wonderful children. I'm enjoying this time so much (I'll be 71 in the fall) but I'm looking forward to enjoying as much as possible, because I'm very happy now. Thanks, this will continue to help me do the right thing. Fortunately, I quit smoking over 50 years ago and was shown how to exercise and stay in shape. I had no idea how to eat better though a friend has helped a great deal.

Such a great talk. The anecdote about Warren Buffet really puts things into perspective. We spend the better part of our days chasing money at work. Perphaps we ought to spend more time worrying about our health.

By far my favorite thinker in this space (nutrition/health/longevity). I always find myself completely absorbed by his lectures or when he is interviewed. He seems so deliberate about his speech and the progression Dr. Attia follows to flesh out what is being discussed. Valuable lecture, thanks!

The graph Peter draws at minute 15....is the key to my programme. Thank you Peter, you crystallized the idea scientifically for me! It’s absolutely brilliant.

Future teachers rejoice! We've found the perfect example of a teacher we both "need" and "want". We all stand to gain from modelling ourselves after him. I say without hesitation that I never had a teacher as admirable and astute as Dr. Attia. But, had we all, then we would probably stop putting reality television people in important positions.

Every one knows about the original rat experiment were they showed that rats on a restricted caloric diet lived longer. (The rats on a restricted calorie diet were given a nutritional supplement so the nutrition was the same regardless of calories) No one seems to know about the follow up rat experiment were they showed that rats on a normal caloric diet given the same nutritional supplement lived longer.

Powerful presentation. Specializing in training older adults, I see this decline every day. Too bad most people don't want to think about this until their health has declined enough that changing their course is difficult.

Fantastic presentation. When it comes to the bio markers he talks about at the end, like glucose levels, how can individuals track their own stats at home? Would a standard glucose monitor for diabetics work if used multiple times a day to track glucose levels?

Yes absolutely, I myself use a frestyle Libre continuous glucose monitor (each sensor lasts for two weeks) a few times a year to check in with my levels. Has been super valuable for me and so interesting to see the effects that things like stress and sleep (and food) have on my tolerance.
