To be honest I read a Theory that the reason why Peter didn't want to for MJ to remember because she will be a target for his Villians when he saw the bandage in her head. And I also read another theory that Parker will meet Felicity and will be his rebound girl, and the whole Symbiote Suit snd Black Cat together like in the comics. Then MJ will go fir Journalism and someday she will find out the truth, and also Ned will be A Magical Hobgoblin Villian, such amazing theories for what's to come.

@@OoXLR8oO Um, they are theories? Theories are guesses backed by circumstantial evidence. In this case, previous Spider-Man media and the comics. That said, as cool as it would be to see other interests introduced for the MCU's Peter Parker, I don't see there being enough movies to flesh those characters out without it becoming dull. So chances are, they should just go back to rebuilding a relationship with MJ. No remembering BS, but as if they had only just met.

@@MrJakeasaur98 There’s literally no whiff of Black Cat in any Spider-Man film to date, let alone the MCU Spider-Man movies, what makes you think she will definitely show up in the next movie? Like I get she shows up in the comics and all, but that’s not circumstantial evidence. With the lone of the symbiote, nothing else you’ve said is connected to the MCU material in any way. You’re basically guessing what will happen, since none of the evidence you’re actually using has anything to do with the MCU.

@@OoXLR8oO But your argument hinges on the movies not relying on the comics as source material, which is nonsensical. Take Homecoming, for example - Vulture hadn't made an appearance in the previous movies. By your logic, he should never have appeared. Not only that, but Homecoming made clear references to Shocker, Scorpion, Tinkerer and Prowler, which their respective alter aliases appearing throughout the movie. Any of these characters could show up. Sony have made an effort to connect their recent projects in the Spider-Man universe. Minor spoilers for Across the Spider-Verse here, but... Insomniac's Spider-Man from the PS game made an appearance (and the game included Black Cat), as did Donald Glover's Aaron Davis, aka the Prowler. There's plenty of cause to expect more cross overs between these iterations, even in the MCU, given their current iteration of Venom made a post-credit appearance in NWH. As an aside, I don't actually think Black Cat will appear. They may choose to introduce another love interest for Peter, as we've already seen Liz and MJ. Betty Brant is also there, but given she was in a relationship with Ned, I don't see that happening. There are others we might see though, before it returns to MJ - Gwen, for example. We might not see that, since Gwen was prominent in the last iteration of Spider-Man on the big screen, but MJ was, so why not. Regardless of all these semantics, the point is that this all constitutes a "theory". Your statement that this stuff is just "guess-work", and not a theory, is incorrect. There is reasoning to suspect that any of these things could happen, and it therefore constitutes the definition of a "theory". All I was aiming to do was defend the validity of the original comment, however unlikely the specifics are to occur. EDIT: Can't seem to spoiler tag the text I wanted. Note to filmmakers: the "open the envelope" situation is fake. Rejections come in thin envelopes (one sheet of paper). Acceptances come in fat packets (multiple pages, a catalog or two). You don't need to open an envelope to find out whether you were accepted or rejected.

He’s protecting her THATS the point, if she or Ned knows it will disrupt or destroy their lives. He realizes in the coffee shop he can’t put the burden on them, it’s a selfish thing to do. On the one hand: Peter is depriving Ned and MJ of their agency by not respecting the choice they made. On the other hand: he’s doing it for a selfless reason, sacrificing his own happiness by letting them leave his life so they don’t have to be associated with him and thus constantly worrying for his safety or being targets for villains. It’s not a perfect decision, but it’s not a terrible one either, its hard to know whether post-NWH MJ or Ned would be happy for Peter to try and honour the promise or not, but I imagine we’ll find out in the next trilogy because Peter needs some sort of not-spiderman plot to be going on for the parts of the movie where they need downtime.

They'll be back together eventually. Though I want it to be a slow-development for MJ and Ned to remember who Peter is without him telling them. This way Peter understands he has to keep identity a secret and having them remember on they're own will be more impactfull as the movies continue in the College Trilogy. I especially would love it if Pete gets the Black Suit in the 2nd movie after we see how he does in the 1st so we can enter the second movie with him having the suit form the 1st to 2nd act or even the whole movie so we can see his life fall apart and those closest to him get hurt as a result of the Symbiote's influence.

Maybe I'm a sucker for a love story, so it could just be me, but I found it irritating that Ned was around way too much in No Way Home when Peter and MJ should have been alone during the sad moments. After May died when they were on the rooftop and at the end when Peter was saying good bye.
