Pete And His Bus, Episode 8: The body

Ойын-сауық

I'm going to desperately try to get the entire body stripped and ready to be prepped for paint. I also get lucky on a forum. How far will I get this time with my super cool Routemaster London Double Decker bus!? Also features the Series 3 Land Rover. For more info on Pete And His Bus check out:

About Pete And His Bus: Pete is a normal (ish) guy who has a big passion for old vehicles and particularly old buses. He is NOT a trained mechanic nor is he professional restorer. He enjoys converting vehicles but he can not promise that what he is doing is going to work on your vehicle. Nor can he promise that you won’t harm yourself if you were you to attempt the things he does. He recommends that you are safe and responsible with machinery and equipment even if you’ve seen him messing about with it. A workshop and it’s content can be a dangerous place. If you are in doubt about your own vehicle, contact a professional for advice.

  • @PeteAndHisBus

    @PeteAndHisBus

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks, glad you like it. The offside rear corner is statistically the most likely to get damaged. The curved panels are expensive to make so virtually all buses in service had that panel replaced with rubber. Once painted, you’ll barely be able to tell the difference and if it’s hit in Any way it’ll bounce back.

    I would be interested to know how much of your bus is original; from what I've been told, Aldenham at least, were none too careful to match the numbers during an overhaul, so it wasn't unknown for a bus to leave the works with only the number plate being original

  • @PeteAndHisBus

    @PeteAndHisBus

    Жыл бұрын

    They were terrible. But that’s because they were simply in the business of keeping them all moving. Coincidentally, my first bus RML2355 is all matching. A frame, b frame, body etc etc.. there’s only 3 buses out there that are like it.

  • @PeteAndHisBus

    @PeteAndHisBus

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Eliott, thanks for watching. The posters are still in situ but I'm uncertain what to do with them. I fear removal will damage them and I'm not sure they'll go with the plans for the bus. I actually tried to preserve the posters off my first bus that were on the outside. Annoyingly they crumbled in my hands, was rather sad. I did however get sent a whole bunch of unused ones from a fan so they're keepers.
