Pet Sitter Nightmare

This was difficult to put out but I hope it's a learning I could share and if you might have gone through something similar I hope this makes you feel less alone or guilty.
Updates on little trouper, he's back to his old self. Walking and running! Every once in a while he lifts his paw up (probably still sensitive) but we're hoping for a full recovery soon!
Love A.

I am so so sorry about this situation...it's always a huge struggle to find professional dog care..i've heard bad stories from more professional places as well...I like when Vets have boarding.. but we all want them to have a more cozy family feel - but hard to judge which is safest. I am so happy to hear he is ok and will be fine -good luck with your future dog care plans. And no - you are not judgmental...you are looking out for your babies and listening to your gut!!! That is what dog moms do!!!

My biggest regret was not listening to my gut, also the biggest learning. If you have a feeling something’s not right, it probably isn’t.

I'm so sorry that happened to you 😢 what a terrifying experience! I cant imagine what I would do in your situation .. I love my dog so much he is like my child. What an irresponsible human ...I would defenitely demand answers and get her to pay vet costs ... not paying her should be the least of her worries tbh

we're super lucky we have my Mom come & stay with our 13 year old senior labrador retriever. He needs a lot of care and we cant leave him with a stranger, even then we still worry but its so much safer leaving him with a trusted family member ❤

You are so lucky. A big downside of moving so often is being far from family :( I’m so grateful the injury was not worse, it is definitely a life lesson.

Its so hard to find good dog sitting, i'm sorry you went through this! Normally in the US, you can find a luxurious establishment to leave them at that keeps them safe in a space with a tv, and personal area room. Good luck in Miami!

I will definitely look for some as soon as we’re settled in. But to be honest I think I’ll try not to leave them for a while now. We all need to heal from this experience 😔 Thanks for the support! 🤍

Alexandra 😢while I was watching this video, I really started to cry 😢 on the moment when you put the picture of poor dog seating on his place with his ruffled paw 🐾 😢 I can’t believe there are people out there who can do that to animals 😢 Take care of you and your cutest dogs. They are so depended on us…😢

these things also happen at pet hotels too ... safest is with you, then family and 3rd option is professional with tons of experience (preferably someone that takes dogs into their home that can provide many references)

Exactly, I think that’s key. Finding someone trained with really good references and also listening to your gut! My biggest regret was not listening to my inner feeling which was telling me something’s off from the start. I feel like you can always tell who really genuinely loves animals and who doesn’t. Anyways, again so thankful it didn’t end worse than this.

Dogtopia. Or Bring them with you. I always bring my 2 smalls. And leave the biggest at Dogtopia coz she hates to travel and prefers playing with new friends.

You‘re definitely not exaggerating. If this had happened to one of my dogs I 100% couldn’t have stayed as civilized as you did. Would love to see the dumb ass cousin dragging someone else’s dogs on an ESCALATOR and not noticing one of them is BLEEDING? Can’t be that dumb, maybe this person just doesn’t care at all.

I surprised myself too with my level of self control! I guess at the moment all I wanted to do is bring him to the vets as soon as possible. To this day I can’t wrap my mind around what happened. I have a doubt they might have been intoxicated.
