Pet Peeves Of my Disability😂| WHEELCHAIR ADDITION♿️ | Paraplegic Life

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Just a few of my top pet peeves of being in a wheelchair with my disability, and paraplegic life and my spinal cord injury. There are a lot more so stay subscribed for the next edition!!
This was just a fun light hearted video on the little things that annoy me. If i sat back and thought about it all too much i would be sad and alone and depressed. So I wanted to make a light hearted video on my pet peeves of my disability wheelchair life. Its a video to laugh and and think. hahaha yeah me too. Or raise disability awareness to abled bodied people who may not how these seemingly easy little tasks and become so big.
first pet peeve is disabled changing room or bathroom being used as a stock room and its too full to go inside!!!! this annoys me so much. Also what is up with non disabled badge holders parking in the parking space? ok thats bad enough, but when they cover it up by saying “oh I’m sorry i didn’t realise!” really? how can you not see that huge blue disabled signs!!! I also find the little trips, just to the bank, post office, or corder shop so difficult to get to, sometimes its the accessibility, sometimes its the disabled parking. And why is it so hard to fit under tables. I really wish there were some more accessible tables in restaurants.

Parking in disabled is not a "mistake"...they know darn well what it's for, they're just being selfish and insensitive. Also, the stripes are not meant for motorbikes and scooters... that's the wheelchair loading zone!

I had a classmate whose mother kept her "badge" after a surgery. I remember being appalled pulling into a handicapped spot with them and she pulled it out, smirking. Even at seven years old I knew it was wrong.

I have an Invisible Disability and though I am able to walk but I can't for long periods or distances. My disability pet peeves: * Disability Parking: At a little motel in this tiny tiny town they had 2 spots. For their size that was legitimate. We get there and almost all the spots are taken including the Disabled ones... The cars had no placards displayed. After parking near the back and walking a ways to the entrance I went to the front desks and informed them. Their response? "Well, we don't have enough parking." I just stared at him. I told him that that is not an excuse, those are provided by law for disabled people. * You don't look disabled. And my favorite one: * You're to young to be disabled!

Heard that way too often when I was in my 20’s, your to young to be that messed up. The best was when we(my wife & I) would park, if looks could kill, the seniors would just about throw fits till I got out of the car with the chest to belt line turtle shell on, then they looked absolutely shamed when my wife started putting her wheelchair together. Like two people in their 20’s just can’t have physical disability’s.

We were going to something at our local village hall and all the spaces were full, including someone without a placard in one of the two disabled bays. Knowing it was very likely from the event we were going to my partner went in a made an announcement. Someone came and moved it and moaning that it was the last space and where was she going to park etc. my partner pointed out, it wasn't the last space, the car park was already full for her that there were plenty of side streets and she could walk back to the village hall and that this was something I could not do.

I work as a nurse but have a connective tissue disorder that makes it painful difficult to walk, I have a blue badge and use a disabled parking bay outside the unit I work in, I was going on a home visit coming back to the unit after, As I reversed out of the space I saw a patient with no disability park in that space because otherwise she would’ve had to walk 100 yds! When I returned from my appointment the car with no blue badge was still there the owner standing chatting inside, I parked directly behind her blocking her in, saw my next patient so she had to wait over an hour for me to move my car haha! She also got the lecture of her life about parking in disabled bays I did this in the waiting room where other patients stood up and gave me a round of applause, I hope she learnt her lesson.

Deborah o Your story beggars belief! Surly if it was that bad in the first place you wouldn’t be able to work as a nurse??? If you are able to walk around buildings and to and from waiting rooms then you absolutely CAN walk a few yards from a normal parking space whether you are in pain or not? If I met you then I’d be giving YOU a lecture in front of your patients!

@@HighTen_Melanie erm no, just because someone can work doesnt mean they dont need a disabled spot. If shes a nurse she may be in a drs surgery and be sat down for most of the day. I have EDS and I can walk for short stints. I do however qualify for a disabled badge because that walking causes a hell of a lot of pain. It could be the same for this lady. Just because she works doesnt mean you can say 'you cant need the disabled spot' one of the most irritating and judgemental comments a disabled person hears

Also with convenience stores, when they just put an "accessible" spot at the end because they put a ramp in but when I don't need my chair (especially for the quick shopping I'd do there), I can't park next to the door because they're usually full as they are regular spots.

Please don’t judge those who have invisible disabilities. The young guy who you see walking seemingly without any problems, may be in middle of cycle of steroids and very strong anti inflammation drugs that make his rhumatoid arthritis and lupus almost bearable, so that he can walk today without much pain. Although, tomorrow, he may not be able to get up without help

when a curb drop is too high or the surface is too potholey and you have no choice but to ask a passerby for help... and they make small talk like "wow you never really think about these things being a problem until something like this happens do you haha" when the bus is rly full and there's no room for you to actually get into the wheelchair section that you legally have to be in because that's the only part designed to be safe, because the corridor is used for turning space and "standing room" simultaneously. especially when someone with a pram has to try and get out of it as the same time you're going in. people have had to sit on other people's luggage or lift luggage onto their knees in the past, it's ridiculous when the disabled toilet in a big place like ikea isn't big enough to turn around in with their supplied chairs, and no room to open the door to leave if you somehow fit in and go only back and forth when "level access" places have these little 1-2cm lips that no one notices while surveying an area on their feet, like parts of doorframes or just decorative super small steps, and the camber that is on every single pavement ever to assist with drainage meaning one arm always gets tired out before the other when people who work at a place like the chemist or corner shop hardly talked to you even when helping you out, before getting the chair, but are suddenly falling over themselves every possible chance to be "helpful" so you can't even have a moment to yourself now you have the chair!! similarly, strangers on the street going "are you doing ok? do you need help?" when you go by them and you don't know them... when meetings and resources for mental disabilities&mental illness are in old buildings with lots of steps and someone has to bring you the materials, and sometimes they offer to try to CARRY YOU UP THE STAIRS ALL BY THEMSELF also omg not getting close enough to tables with a big central pole leg is such a struggle, especially if the footrests don't fold away at all. bloody getting 20 napkins to cover my dress because of the distance edit: not a pet peeve at all, but when people say things like "take a seat" i like to joke "already got one ;)". some of them get really apologetic and some of them get that i'm being lighthearted, haha

There's a store near me that made a "disabled" restroom stall by JUST installing rails in a normal width stall. I have a below the knee amputation and use one of those walkers with a seat on it for balance and to carry the items I purchase. With my walker "in the stall" it blocked the door. I can't imagine that stall being of any use for anyone that's wheelchair dependent, especially someone who has to pull their chair up beside the toilet.

My pet peeves are when they're restocking the shelves in my local supermarket and they leave the stock cages and boxes in the aisle and then walk away, meaning that there's not enough space for my wheelchair to get past, or to turn a corner, and there's no one around to move it! the other one is when I'm with someone else, particularly if they're pushing my manual wheelchair, and shop assistants will talk to them first. Idk if this is pet peeve or not but I just watched a KZreadr that actually said "I don't see why we can't use disabled parking and collect temp disability checks when we are in our third trimester of pregnancy" (Just an FYI she is totally healthy and needs no assistance) as well as I've seen people park in our spots and point to the belly and shrug, like that is an excuse for making me wheel all around the parking lot trying to get to the store because we had to park far away in order to get the wheelchair out of car. Stores that purposely put their racks too close together to sell more items and we can't shop properly (of course I'd rather spend my money elsewhere) although those stores are usually selling things at discount and when you live on Disability thats what you can afford, you know?? Loved the video thank-you for sharing and Have a Very Lovely Day Everyone!!!

In the US you can get temporary disabled placards, they are red and can be given in units of a month for 1-6mths. I had one of my babies in the US at a time when my disability in general was out of blue badge territory, I had had one before and have had one ever since. I delivered just before 37 weeks and in the last week the only trips were the doctor which had nearby parking and babys'r'us which has pregnant women bays, which I really did need as by that point I was barely able to walk with crutches. Had I expected that situation to last a month I'd have asked for a temporary placard and I'm sure would have got it. But benefits, that's taking the piss, in the UK you have to had the disability for at least 3 months and expect it to last for at least 6 more, which the third trimester of pregnancy doesn't. My first DLA application was less than 3 months after giving birth, so that did mean they agreed that I was disabled in the last few days of pregnancy and for me it was pregnancy and delivery that made an underlying condition get worse and I'm pretty sure no pregnant woman wants to be in that position. My first pregnancy was fine, but comparing to later experiences I can safely say that the normal discomfort of the third trimester does not match disability by any stretch of the imagination.

When you book assistance the week before a trip and they need to know the exact train you’re on and the one you’re there to catch... ...and no one turns up (all in UK) thanks Salford crescent ...no one turns up and the other passengers actually pick you up in your wheelchair without warning and dump you onto the platform (thanks Bristol parkway and Preston) ...no one turns up so you chuck yourself on the floor, push your wheelchair onto the platform and transfer back in (Preston, although while putting bags and stuff back on the wheelchair a bloke turned up and asked if I was ok and it turns out that the train I was on was running late so they hadn’t expected it so soon...yeah, it’s trying to make up time you numpty!) ...when you go and wait by the door as you near your destination but when the door opens two blokes PUSH YOU BACKWARDS so they can get on the train approx 60 seconds sooner by not using another door or wait for me to drop down the ramp (only in Barnsley, thankfully) ...you arrive at an unstaffed station and have to stick a leg through the open door until the guard comes down the platform to tell you off before he realises that you’re in a wheelchair and the platform is a long way away. (thanks Barnsley, Windermere, Morecambe, Whitby, Edale... too many to mention! I don’t know what will happen when we get trains that don’t have guards, just drivers) ...the empty train your on stops and hundreds of noisy drunk football supporters get on and you can’t get to the toilet or get your snacks and tablets because the train is suddenly packed (thanks Burton-on-Trent) ...you want to get to a small station but the ‘helpful?’ assistance person puts you on the express train (thanks Sheffield, I managed to get off in Salford(?) and went back to Castleton an hour and twenty minutes later) ...you are met by assistance and they accidentally DROP you off the ramp sideways, and then ram you up the ramp and tip you over and drop you again on the way onto my next train (thanks Raj at Leeds [who’s job is passenger assistance!!], that dropped me TWICE once off the Morecambe train and then getting on to the Nottingham train and on the same journey [...you can now have the fame you deserve] - I’d just like to add that I use a standard sized wheelchair, not something massive!) ...and the person selling train tickets says if you had a disabled railcard you can get a third off your ticket price - but if you DON’T have a railcard you can have half price tickets?!!! ...when you’re on the train but the ‘disabled person’s space’ is full of luggage and you completely block the aisle, so you have to grow some... and shout down the train “can you come and move your shiz so I can park up and the guard tells you that you can’t block the aisle and you’ll get chucked off the train at the next stop for shouting (this has happened getting on trains in Doncaster, York, Preston, Exeter, East Grinstead... and more) ***(I’ve lost confidence in traveling by train alone)***

I’m sorry I didn’t get to finish. 1) When 2 bratty children constantly question you about your disabilities. I have a three brothers and they’re younger than me. My brother Jacob had a friend that would stay the night with him a lot and they would ask me a bunch of questions I shouldn’t have had to answer. One of the questions was why did I spend most of my childhood in the hospital? I spent most of my childhood in the hospital because when I was a baby I was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, which means that there’s 💦 on the brain. At 2 years old I started having brain surgery because of a cyst. Most of my childhood consisted of brain surgeries. My younger brother Jacob doesn’t respect that and his stupid friend didn’t respect that either. My older sister would advocate for me sometimes and tell the boys that they are being jerks. 2) When your older sister is neglecting you because of something you cannot do anything about. 2 years ago in December I went to the dentist and the doctor said I had to have my wisdom teeth removed and I would always ask my sister if we could make something on the stove before I had the surgery and she would get very ANGRY 😡 and say NO you have to wait until after you have the surgery. I’ve had the surgery and it was in December of 2017 and my older sister still hasn’t helped me make anything for 🥘. I’m stuck eating sandwiches 🥪 and frozen dinners and cans of 🍜 and things that can be put in a toaster oven and it’s been like that for over 6 months. I am visually impaired and when people meet me they automatically think she cannot be trusted. ☹️😭😭😭😄😭😭😭😭😭☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️😭😭😭😭😭 ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS? I was born with Retinopathy of Prematurity witch is a potentially blinding eye disease that causes a growth on the blood vessel inside the eye when the baby is born and the growth can go from the front of the blood vessel all the way to the back of the blood vessel scarring and pulling the retina out of place, that can cause someone to go completely blind. 3) When I was Eleven I was made to crawl on the segment ground after I came back to school from being in the hospital for 3 months because my fifth grade 👩‍🏫 was an IDIOT. The students in my class were 😆 at me, there were papers flying around the room at the same time and the 👩‍⚕️ was helping me inside and she said that the students were laughing 😆 because of the papers flying around the room. 3) When someone tries to tell someone else something they’ve never heard before and the person that you telling it to doesn’t believe you, I tried to tell my older sister Kyndra that when someone has a joint destroying autoimmune disease like JRA eating sugar for more than a day is bad and can make J.R.A. worse, but my sister only believes things that come out of Dr. Fuegates 👄. My sister told me I was lying 🤥 and when my mom heard it she was P.O. I HOPED EVERYONE LIKED IT.

I’m not disabled but I have many foot problems and very weak ankles and feet so sometimes when my feet are hurting I can’t walk as fast and sometimes it hurts so bad that I can barely walk and I tell people about this but still when I have to walk slower they hurry me along and I’m like I’ve just explained that I can’t walk as fast right now but they still do it. Also at my primary school they didn’t understand so when we had to walk somewhere to a local school trip they would hurry me up no matter how many times my parents said. I don’t know if it’s a pet peeve but it’s annoying

Hi from Canada, 1) People not shoveling their sidewalks, and the ones on corner lots do not shovel the corner part out to the intersection, so I cannot cross ...which I then have to turn around and go all the way back, and ride on the road. Then there are all the good people who do shovel and there is one or two who don't, which forces me again to go onto the road,...SO FRUSTRATING!!! I don't have a car so rely on public transit. I don't go out when snow is/has fallen...usually wait a few days, and still have problems. 2) People not seeing me in my power chair. I have two very bright lights on either side of my neck, a flasher on my chair, 14 reflectors, and a lap blanket I knitted which has reflective thread on it. It doesn't matter if it is night or day, I have to always be looking out for cars and bikes, especially at intersections with traffic lights. 3) Getting help when you do not need it. Had a customer in the grocery store this week, asked if I needed help packing my groceries. I said, that is nice of you, but I am good and could do it... she then took my bag from my hand and packed my groceries.

My recent bad toilet story is at Kennedy Space Center, they have an entire carpark full of disabled bays. There are also a set of toilets, in the US the disabled stall is usually at the back of the rest room. So before we leave we go to the rest room, the layout is such that we spend 5 minutes wheeling/walking towards them and no one goes in, so we are both expecting a quick in and out. So I head to the ladies and my partner to the gents. First thing I notice, the lock is not the type that displays a red/green for engaged/free. So I go to the disabled stall and gentle push on one side, nothing happens, I have another look and I also realise I can't see the hinges, so maybe it's empty and I've pushed the wrong side, with the huge gaps you get under US toilets I can see there is no walking aid or wheelchair in front of the toilet and the regular bays are empty, I don't want to sit there like an idiot if it's not in use, so I gently push the other side, nothing happens this side either, but I get yelled at, so I apologise and say there is no engaged sign. So I wait and I wait and I wait a bit more, I could have been do the loo several times by now. I consider using one of the non disabled stalls with the door open so I can reach my wheelchair, but knowing me this mysterious user would come out at precisely that point. I hear water running, but nothing else, I think she must be out soon, but no, the water runs a bit more then gets turned off. Eventually a security guard comes out holding her mobile phone, I'm pretty darn sure she's been taking her break hanging out in the disabled loo in the disabled car park, good service Kennedy Space Center, thanks for training your staff.

When places do the bare minimum to be "accesible". - - The doors are just wide enough for a wheelchair and they didnt take into account that a hand has to go next to the wheel. - They have a ramp but it is so steep that you have to ask someone to push you up as you are too weak. - and this combines the previous two... theres a door right where the ramp ends.

My problem is the racing of shopping carts through the grocery store to the point that they almost tip over sideways, not to mention run over me. LOL!!!

One of my biggest pet peeves is when you go to a shop and said shop have no regular shopping baskets but only those ridiculous monstrosities with wheels on them which you can not put on your lap when using a wheelchair, and you can’t roll them on the floor when in a wheelchair! The only way to manage them is to juggle the basket and roll with one hand at a time, trying to not make the whole shop look like a war zone, not to mention the pain it causes the more you put into the basket! Or you get to a shop and they have the wheel monstrosities and IKEA like bags but NO REGULAR BASKETS! Do they seriously think disabled customers don’t exist or always bring a carer, family member or friend when shopping? And haven’t they realized that the monstrosities are like the most non ergonomic shopping solution ever, even for walking customers! BAN BASKETS WITH WHEELS! Walking customers can just get a shopping cart if they don’t want to carry a basket!!! Another is like you’ve already mentioned, people abusing the accessible parking spaces without having a disabled parking permit, or they park as near the accessible parking space as possible, preferably with at least one wheel over the line! Those of us with permits to use the accessible space, NEED THE SPACE!!! And of course... NEVER TOUCH MY WHEELCHAIR UNLESS I ASK FOR HELP! I won’t sit and pinch your bum while we’re standing in a crowd, then don’t lean on my chair, don’t nudge on the wheels or play with my spokes or anything, just NO TOUCHING THE WHEELCHAIR! I don’t care if you’re 5 years old or 50+ DON’T TOUCH MY WHEELCHAIR! IT HURTS WHEN YOU DO! And then there’s the toilet situation. Sooooooo you want to just take a shit and play some candy crush or touch up your makeup? No queue to the regular stalls, and you choose the ONE ACCESSIBLE STALL when you don’t have a visible or invisible disability that makes you NEED the accessible stall! No, just no! If you can’t take a shit next to someone else, or can’t improve your makeup by the sinks outside the regular stalls, maybe just stay at home next time! Those of us needing the accessible stall don’t have an option but to use the accessible stall, others do! Don’t use the accessible stall unless you need the space or there’s a queue to the regular stalls! Newsflash, everyone takes a dump and pee, even the queen of England, get used to hearing and making the sounds if you’re out in public! Door openers that requires you to hold the button in for several seconds before door opens, or worse, lifts that requires you to hold the button in until you arrive: No, just nooooooooo! Let us push a button once and open the darn door or get to the next floor! To be continued really... Maybe I should get around to do a video on it as well, a kind of EDS edition maybe as I have EDS and use a wheelchair...

Can you make a video on how to deal with children commenting about your wheelchair? I remember you yelling in the other video "Mommy why is that lady in a wheelchair" made me lol.... Anyway, it's happened to me a few times and it's so awkward! I'm a little *ahem* speedy in my chair... so usually I've wheeled way past the child and am unable to respond. I also don't want the child's parent to teach them the wrong things regarding people with disabilities. Thoughts?

  • @Wheelsnoheels

this is a grated idea. and it is children who tend to comment out loud like that as they don't know any different, and don't hold back. I tend to find it really awkward, as its the parents that are dying inside. Usually I ignore and wheel on, to stop the situation getting worse. You could stop and explain to the young child your legs don't works so well, so you speed around like this. (Say i have a bad back) I have been in situations where ill let the child come closer and touch the chair, and even push it, so they are not scared. make them feel special. (this is young children). Make it fun and a positive experience. :D however i was in a shop where there was this teen who could not stop staring at me, she was 12-14 i think. In the end i smiled and ask her if she was ok. just to break it. I think she was embarrassed, and they left the shop.

For me children do not bother me. It is an innocent curiosity that I do not find offensive. I will talk with them if time permits and address their curiosity. Their parents can be embarrassed sometimes but not always. It is better than an adult that should know better asking, "What's wrong with you?". This is also how I met my girlfriend. Yes, she was horribly embarrassed but it was my opportunity to ask her out and answer why I can't walk, why I use a wheelchair and why my legs are so thin (innocence of a 4 year old who is now 9). She now has a 4 year old sister who has known me (as daddy) since day one ( no curiosity).

I go around to schools to teach kids about disability for a living, so I get this A LOT. the best way I've found is if they're stairing, smile and give them a little wave, they'll usually realise they've been spotted and stop after that. with questions, if they ask you directly, just explain it very very simply (I'm an amputee and occasional wheelchair user, so I tell them my real legs got sick, So I have these now to help me walk). It dose depend on the disability, but if there's a character in a kids movie that has something similar, that can be another way to explain it (I have a friend born without a full arm who says she's "like Nemo the fish, but a person"). If you're confident enough, when they ask a parent or someone else with them, you can explain then too, but if you're not just ignore it keep going about your day, there's nothing wrong with that :) I like to explain where possible myself but I'm not good with 1 to 1 conversation lol, so I don't tend to explain unless they ask directly.

I experience all the wheelchair problems as others do. Two of the worst are going to a store and my daughter goes in to get a mobile device for me and there just none available or when you finally get one it does not stay going and stops with a jolt. My experience too often. One being getting one that I kept getting horrible shocks while driving it and when my daughter finally found another one it stopped right in the travel lane for cars tThe employee said stand up and sit again. I said if I could stand I would not need your contraption. Ugh! Second one is my daughter pushed the wheelchair into a store and left. I had to try to get around dozen of boxes that were sky high. Not fun. One time I got stuck and saw a lady approaching me and I thought that she would help me. No just saw me and turned the other way. Sorry for the long rant but it is very frustrating.

The disabled changing room reminded me of the ony and only job I was able to have before I was disabled, or knew my own limits bc I wasn't doing great when I had that job. I had to open the disabled changing room for someone and... Low and behold there was stuff piled up on the bench, stuff hanging all over. And I KNEW it was because the rly lazy people I worked with didn't do their job and I was like the only person around who actually did my job and it made me SOOO upset. Especially since myself and another girl was asked to clean it out and said other girl just didn't care to help me... at all.. because it was probably her who did it. And now that I'm fully disabled and I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user it makes me even more upset 😂 (edit) the tables thing is so annoying. I went to take my little sis out for smoothies recently and I was so awkwardly positioned by the table because there was just no space for my chair underneath. Even without my wheelchair, heavy doors are tiring.

Need to make drive thru convenience stores a reality. That's Brilliant! I have a lot of health problems and idk if you'd call these pet peeves... but most things that drive me nuts have to do with the unpredictability of my health. Like when things get bad really suddenly and trying to explain it if your out with people and need to go home. So many things have just really bad timing like I had a migraine while taking the ACTs (exam for college) . Lastly, this might be an unpopular opinion but anytime people try to push questionable alternative treatments... like homeopathy... its water, no it will not fix my genes... and you better hope water doesn't really have memory or were all drinking sh*t!

Ok I’ve got a question. Hope you don’t mind me asking. As a wheelchair user. Do you get annoyed when. An able bodied person uses the disabled loo? Myself I have a mental disability and got this ‘Carer’ who was looking after the person in the wheelchair as I’d just come out of it as I can’t wait in ques for the loo due to panic attacks. Well she looked at me like filth! I ended up in tears and can’t repeat what went after.

Um I think I have a video with me discussing this. I would never question anybody using the loo. Even if they ran out. Because there are many hidden reasons or invisible disabilities that require a person to use the disabled toilet. I would never question them, or give them a dirty look. so in answer to your question, if that person felt like they had some kind of impairment that requires them to use the disabled toilet then I wouldn't be mad. hope that makes sense. x

I don't question people, but you can tell by the sheepish looks they make when they come out. There was one time when a disabled loo was in a stupid place, the corridor was too narrow for two wheelchairs to pass and even for someone to walk normally past a wheelchair, they'd have to squeeze past, so me minus wheelchair wouldn't have been able to do it. So I'm sat there waiting for the disabled loo and actually really hoping the person using it isn't disabled.

I'm confused... how can you tell their not disabled? Minus the sheepish looks of some folk... Not every disability is visible... Yes sadly they put disabled loos in the most stupidest of places saw one today up a step I mean wth is that about had to lift a person in! I've litterally had to carry someone up a flight of stairs from a wheelchair to a toilet!! It's appauling... I go in Disabled loos due to anxiety attacks and so I can move around get in and out amongst many things...

Rae -The Tea and Book Lady I’m well aware not all disabilities are visible, I myself used one at times for the extra height before I needed a wheelchair full time, but if they come out looking sheepish then I’m going to assume they aren’t disabled - but I don’t do anything so me thinking it doesn’t matter on the rare occasion the person does have a hidden disability though I also hope I’d be able to tell the difference, looks can give a lot away.

Sorry I must have misread your reply... thought you meant people coming out of disabled loos when they shouldn't be... Not meaning to be rude just got mixed up (damn brain!) Ah I see what you mean now sorry about that... Yeh or when (like the time I had) 2 ladies came out of the disabled loo one in a wheelchair and one pushing the lady in the wheelchair (the poor woman in that wheelchair the way that other one pushed her!) anyway I was going in for a shower after the gym as the cubicals at ours are so damn small it is unreal u cant move around let alone breath and I cant change in a communal space. Anyway this woman looked at me saying .,, you shouldnt be going in there your not disabled then grunted and stormed off with this other poor lady.

I assume that the laws there are differant than the usa. Ada here takes care of a lot of those things. I call the cops on parkers who are obviously not disabled, just using someone elses card or lic plate. I have sued businesses for not being compliant and have won every single one. So dont complain, get involved, get aggressive and sue.

Once, this old bat looked at me and my car all crazy for being in the handicapped parking. My disability is invisible, I have fibromyalgia. I was having a bad day anyway, I threw both of my arms out to the side as if to say nonverbally, you got a problem??? She hurried up and went about her business which was a good idea lol. I hate when your in a wheelchair and ppl cut in front of you pretending they didn't see you. Ppl parking in disabled without the proper placard. Ppl saying, you don't look sick or disabled! Dummy, Ted Bundy didn't look like a killer either.

My mother parks her car in the handicap parking when I am not with her, she gets tickets for doing so, and she gets upset at the cop! We live in France, so I not sure it's a French thing I just find it funny because I cannot tell her (because she told me not to tell her how to drive she is 77) to not park the car there because she will jump on me, so I have to let her get tickets and get upset at the cops! I know some people would be upset at me so please take my place and I will take yours problem fixed it that easy!

“Shouldn’t your boyfriend be in a wheelchair?” Me: uuumm no, I’m pretty sure he’s happy with walking and stuff but I’m sure he’s ok and can manage.- disabled bathrooms never being cleaned! People Parking at dipped kerbs. People who deliberately act like they can’t hear or see me (ooops I’m so sorry I ran over your toes after literally 3 mins of trying to get your attention politely asking you if I can get past to get through the door) “where can I buy one of those things? My kid wants a hover board with a seat” “oh that must be so fun” “it must be nice getting to sit and rest all day, you don’t have to bother walking” no, no not at all, I’m not pushing myself and a bunch of extra weight made of metal.

I'm pretty sure there are plenty who think they meet it but don't, I travel in the US regularly and plenty of times I've had to sit awkwardly because my chair doesn't go far enough in. Eating chicken lettuce wraps and PF Changs was awkward a few weeks back.

1:05 Maybe they should include the instruction not to use it for storage. 2:16 That's not always all that visible. Case in point... Do you watch the videos on the channel Chronically Jaquie? 2:35 Isn't it only twice as wide? 2:59 Good question. 3:25 Don't you mean "when you can't sit *at* the table"? 4:10 Don't you think you should have cut the scene right about here? 5:12 Then why not ask your bank if you can do a Skype call or something similar? 6:14 Are the things you live too far away from in the same direction? If so, then how about moving. It's a hassle, granted, but it would solve your problem, wouldn't it? About the title. Shouldn't that be "Wheelchair *Edition*"?
