Good review. Only thing you should of mentioned were the licences of PES. Real Madrid is named Differently and they dont have the same jerseys.

If only pes had proper kit for each team.....

Has anyone had the problem of when you edit in this version of PES on PC the Crowd disappears. It's just that is what has happened to me. The Option file is not out for the PC version yet, which sucks.....FIFA will always win until PES can also get the proper Kits and Names

also.... isnt it funny how when reviewed last year PES16 was amazing and near perfect and not a bad word was said... now 17 is out all these errors that apparently didnt exist from 16 have now been fixed or improved on????!! makes no sense

Definitely true man... thats why i think they need to stop throwing around comments like the best football game ever etc... imo PES 16 turned out to be utter dogshit

I just bought it on PC and I can't play in 4k. That annoys the hell out of me.

You have to fix the sound issue as it's really difficult to understand what you'are saying having the commentary on the background ...

commentary still needs work. they need to talk more about the clubs and how many goals players scored in master league. they shouldnt refer man u and manchester its weird. just use 'united' if man u is copyrighted!

my only thing about pes is, every shot is a Bullet, and the commentary gets dull very very very fast

I love pes I always buy pes but this time I bought FIFA because I'm tired of them making half baked games all the time I have to go and download the options files each yeah making me have to do that for them we need to stop buying pes to teach them lesson that we are tired of doing that all the time , the money we pay for the their games why can't they use it to get us option files and license

I bet you never played it on top player, that's when it's flaws show badly. The game doesn't understand advantage, doesn't give red cards, doesn't give blantent fouls, the opposition will ALWAYS catch up with you and will perform inhuman defending, the condition system is ridiculous, become a legend is a test of patience (your team mates are total morons), it will select team kits with same colours for the home and away teams which is a real annoyance if you start a game without checking and the master league predetermines where you'll come in the league. It's a huge shame becuase the gameplay is a huge improvement and plays really well sometimes. I don't want to reduce the level becuase it would be too easy so I'm stuck with either playing it on frustrating unfair difficulty or a difficulty that I smash the computer everytime. The licensing issues you can get past by downloading option files online so no one needs to worry about that.

I think 16 is better

game may be good but still online play sucks in PES, and this time Konami has really sucked it on PC giving last gen visuals !!!

Bad commentary. Bad player AI. Bad crowd noises. Graphically nowhere near as good as FIFA (e.g. The pitch doesn't tear up during the game, the running animations look wrong). Having to press start after almost every incident is so annoying Game play is not too bad but not enough to switch from FIFA. I'm not saying FIFA is great, it has its issues too. It's just better than this IMO.

Your argument is as bad a PES. If you're going to comment, say something useful. If I wanted a football game to be purely based on gameplay, I'd stick to ISS on my SNES. Best football game ever. This game is playing on a next generation console. There's no excuse for Konami not being able to make the game sounds, commentary, licensing etc as good as FIFA. If they did, then this game would destroy FIFA. However, it doesn't and that's why people, like myself who really want a change from FIFA, keep buying it.

look at how bad those ball physics and animations are!! ... ffs pes gets a free pass for all of its fails, which there are a lot of... but fifa gets belted for the EXACT SAME GLITCHES/ANIMATIONS... no consistency

I have both games FIFA17 through EA ACCESS and PES2017. Online FIFA wins! Gameplay PES wins! FIFA has the licenses and top notch commentary.. PES has the master league and..... thats it to be honest.. I love PES but every year i get so pissed off with it i end up getting FIFA as online is seriously pathetic!.. It takes so long to get a game and when you finally get a game its laggy.. even though this year it has a connection rating for other players (it doesn't work). I have a 200 meg connection via ethernet and have no problems with any other game. Myclub still isn't as good as it should be.. Ultimate team wins this.. i don't like the spin of the ball in PES and i don't like the packs in FIFA.. i prefer to save my coins and buy the players i want in my team.. this ball lottery PES has going is crap.. lets be honest here. FIFA this has the journey which is pretty good ( still miss the PES gameplay) but in FIFA straight away the level of commentary is 10 out of 10.. FIFA's presentation is better than last years effort. So if Konami fix online.. why not let people fix their team before searching for an online game??? Is that just a wacky idea??? And get rid of the region lock as that's the most stupid thing the game has.

Smh. Anyone with working eyes will easily say that pes has terrible animations. I dunno why ign never mentions the robotic movement and slow reaction of pes players. Frankly it breaks the game for me. I always get frustrated playing pes. I mean how on earth does a top player match end 6-5. How?? Shots and sliding tackles are frustratingly OP. Defending ai is the dumbest I've ever seen. Sound design is terrible. Crowds sound terrible. Become a legend is the most frustrating thing ever. The players are too dumb OmG. There's too much to say. Pes sucks. Stop this fake hype

Yeah the animation might better in FIFA but PES controls feel more solid and fluid even though they look more robotic. I'm getting PES17 this year for the first time since 08. Had been playing FIFA since then but playing both demos convinced me to go back to PES. Something about that Fox engine makes it look and play a little better

I like the game but players from countries like China, africans players dont have any pic, sucks

create a player is still the same no new haircuts or beards

TheMemzie99 spectacularly well put. Its mental that in earlier editions up to PES 15, there were enough reasonably accurate black guy haircuts in the edit mode. But in 16 they changed it and made a mess of it. It was impossible to make Rashford, Iheanacho etc as you could either have a skinhead, or a thatched roof on top of their head. There was no middle ground. Im disappointed to hear this is the case in pes2017 and further reason for me to not bother buying it.
