The work from Milano's middles - Piano and Loser, is amazing in this game. All the block touches completely neutralising big hits from Perugia. All the cover they did and the digs they had no right in getting up.

This is what's risky about a team that has been complete from the start like Perugia. There's nothing to improve while the tournament goes on. And when other teams start to adjust and get their groove going, you'll be the one having a hard time in the end. Happened as well in the Women's Champions League with Imoco who got beaten by Fenerbahce that's been struggling at the start of the tournament. I hope Imoco won't have misfortunes like this in SerieA.

​@@Jayjay-bv1fn imoco was way better 3yrs ago when they still have the COMPLETE line up with Hill and Egonu. Now even you have cook who isn't even contributing much in scoring and inconsistencies of plummer isn't enough to play against a bery explosive fenerbahce.

@@elprofessor3397 but they are the reigning club world champs. Fener is just super strong right now, they peaked all of a sudden. Even ecza and vakif couldn't do anything to stop the rampage.

I've been following from Romania what's happening in volleyball community for the last few years. I'm not a pro, but I love this sport and the players who are proving exceptional moral qualities. I think that, in the story of Perugia, it's about the bad organisating of the competitions at the national and european level. The interferences of the matches from CEV and national championship caused an exhaustion fenomenon, which gaves advantages to the teams that are not involved in CEV. Sometimes, two matches with 5 sets in the same week for a participant team in CEV were leading to a incapacity of this team to put up a fight with a well rested team. But I think the competition between clubs is more un expression of the financial power to buy valuable players and the true value of volleyball is revealed in the competitions between national teams, where it's not about money, but it's about love, dedication and highest sport values. Simone Giannelli, Alessandro Michieletto, Daniele Lavia and all the others that will make up the italian team, all my respect and good luck in VNL!

This a massive fail for Perugia's directors. I guess this is the most expensive group of elite volleyball players gathered in the entired world. Bravo for MIlano! Patry and Ishikawa showing why they are the best in ther national teams.

in the match before this one, Yuki had a cramp due to saturation in the muscle in the 5th set. It was Piazza's strategy for a possible 5th set, to let him rest and keep him fresh. But Milano started to lose the advantage they had in the 4th set and so the coach decided to put him at the end of the set and closed the match.

Nahhh they’ve lost even leon is healthy like last yr. They underestimated their opponents. They thought Milano is easy to beat. After winning the game 1 they are so relaxed, didn’t take milano seriously until game 4

What happened to Leon? Why didnt he play?

No.16 is a two-time Club World Champion, the best outside spiker of the last world championships and the 2022 player of the year according to CEV. It's really sad what Perugia did to him

Did you watch the whole match? Porro was amazing from the service line and had no big errors in his setting. Patry had rather a bad game though

Nah, Porro played really well these last two matches, especially when in the other side of the court is someone like Giannelli.
