Finance and capital markets on Khan Academy: Back in the day (like medieval Europe), you would actually be thrown in jail if you couldn't pay your debts (debtor's prison). That seemed like a pretty awful thing to do (not to mention that lenders are much less likely to be paid by someone rotting in prison), so governments created an "out" called bankruptcy (which, as you'll see, is a pseudo-painful "reset" button on your finances).
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.
For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

You make a payment plan according to my friend who worked on Wall Street for 7 years. Then he worked at the World Trade Center for 6 years. He used to be on this show called Wall Street Week, and when they asked about bankruptcy that's what he would say - and so did other financial people who worked with him.

As always, great job Sal! There are many nonprofits out there to help low-income Americans who cannot afford attorneys. One nonprofit that helps folks across the country is Upsolve.org. Upsolve receives funding from the federal government.

This video is a bit confusing to someone who has no idea what bankruptcy is all about. The introduction was a little bit unnecessary and the overall video is too long, but the information is good and easy to understand.
