The sad part is... I can BELIEVE that Joker could develop a Palace. An honest act of kindness where he tried to save a woman being sexually assaulted resulted in his entire life being destroyed in a single lie to the police. Considering Japanese culture seems to detest individuality, Joker really does have the society of Japan to blame for his misfortune, not that different from the other Palace rulers of the game (Kamoshida himself said the expectations of others twisted him, the three male Palace rulers have a theme that society looks down upon those without money, Futaba was unfairly held responsible for something that wasn't her fault and beyond her control, Sae is trapped by the glass ceiling and judged for not having a boyfriend or husband at age 24, and the two villains of the game make a point that Japan's stagnation has made it weaker and ripe for control). He is repeatedly screwed over or threatened by skeptical or flat-out corrupt authority figures (Sojiro spends much of month one detesting his newfound charge and repeatedly threatens to kick Joker out if he screws up, Kamoshida ruins Joker's school life and even tries to expel him, the former because he can and doesn't like Joker for a criminal record beyond his control, and the latter because Joker and Ryuji refused to back down about their investigating his corruption and his raping of Shiho Suzui, Kobayakawa blatantly ignored Kamoshida's unethical behavior as a teacher in order to cover himself from pissing off Shido, and there's what happens after the Casino heist with the interrogator brutalizing and drugging a 16/17-year-old to force a confession out of him). Joker spends a great deal of time learning how to wear different masks depending upon whom he's talking to, whether his Confidants, the law, authority figures, the Twins, or even his fellow Phantom Thieves. He has had to spend an entire year suppressing his real self to the point that he himself has lost his own identity, and he would wonder if his friends would even CARE about him outside of the persona he has constructed. So, here's my take: Joker's Palace is the Theather of Regret. Its Metaverse counterpart would be Leblanc, where he's forced to stay. His Shadow would be a court jester, similar to his Arcana as the Fool, and would be wearing chains like a prisoner. But rather than be an antagonistic Shadow, he'd be semi-helpful similar to Futaba's Shadow, parading around as various roles in the theater to attempt to help, but is stopped from doing much by an outside source: his cognitive jailers. His friends would worry about him and his identity crisis and would set out to defeat the cognitive jailers to get access to his Treasure. After sending the Calling Card, Joker's Shadow would call him back into the Metaverse, and attempt to get him to accept that his friends actually DO care about him, no matter what he looks like without his mask. Meanwhile, the Phantom Thieves have to battle Cognitive Shido, who fights slightly similar to his Shadow from the Ship of Pride. When Shadow Joker gets through to him, he would return to his mask form, appear on Joker's face, and he rips it off, once again becoming Joker to destroy his cognitive monster. Once it's done, Joker apologizes to his friends for what he put them through and promises to be a better leader. He would then give Skull his mask, which turns into his glasses in the real world.

plot twist, Akechi isn't dead, he finds out joker has a palace and you control Akechi and only him throughout the entire palace, as it will be easy for only one persona user to traverse

Thieves Den doesn't seem to be a Palace. It is a part of the Metaverse born from Joker's cognition, but it isn't an actual Palace, as it has no distortions.

A palace is a twisted desire, right? So technically, any desire could become “twisted” even if it is seen as a good thing. So, what if Joker’s twisted “desire” was one to protect? Like, he was so determined to protect his friends and fight the system that his “palace” would be a large prison complex. Essentially, he would be so consumed by his desire to protect and help, and ends up trapping the others and keeping them in cages to keep them “safe.” Additionally, the palace would be incredibly unstable; his self-hate and feelings of being trapped spilling over. He would kill cognitions of police, corrupt businessmen, etc while keeping everyone else “safe” (also cognitions) Also, what if the palace had existed for a while? He has the desire, he just doesn’t act on it. So his team would probably find out by accident, and not really know what to do. Because it’s not like he acts on it, right? And isn’t it good to want to protect others? But at the same time, he sees himself as lesser, and trapped; should you really leave someone like that? In the fight, shadow Joker would probably get mad at the Phantom Thieves for not letting him protect them and let a lot of repressed feelings slip out because palace. Finally, I feel like no matter what kind of palace Joker has, a calling card wouldn’t work. I feel like someone (Makoto, Ryuji or Ann, probably) would straight up tell him. And he’s just like “that doesn’t mean I’ll let you” and then when they go to get the treasure, it doesn’t materialize. Cause he’s Joker, he knows how these things work, which means he can beat the system. So, to get rid of the palace, they have to speak to shadow Joker and convince him to materialize the treasure, at which point he apologizes and sends them on their merry way AND THEN THERAPY YALL 2/3/2023 Hey besties: to everyone saying Maruki, thank you, I know, I wrote this before playing royal :) I also don’t really agree with this comment anymore but I’m keeping it up cause I like the concept

So basically the entirety of the battle would run off negotiation and the battle would be very much impossible because he would just heal if his health is too low basically forcing you to find his weakness, knock him down, and try talking to him.

The Phantom Thieves are gathered outside Cafe Leblanc. Everyone except Joker. There's been an argument going on between everyone, resulting in them disbanding the Phantom Thieves temporarily. However, No one's seen Joker at all. Not even Morgana. Everyone's agreed to set their differences aside for this one occasion, and see what's wrong with Joker. Morgana: "I just thought of something..." Futaba: "What is it?" Morgana: "Open up the navigator." - Ryuji opens the MetaNav on his phone. - Morgana speaks the protagonist's name. Ryuji: "What?! Are you crazy?!" - Candidate found. Yusuke: "It would appear not..." Everyone is shocked. Their own leader has become distorted.

I imagine Shadow Joker/Akira singing these words while playing a grand piano. The PTs follow the music to where he is after completing the majority of the Palace, and moments before the Thieves open the door to his room, the Shadow begins his lyrics. After a long and tedious battle, Shadow Joker would be somewhat stable at first but becomes a mess after anyone says something to him. An entire year's worth of frustration and angry tears are spilled out right there in the center of the lavish room as the Phantom Thieves rush to comfort their friend and leader. I wouldn't be surprised if Skull gets there first and hugs him the tightest. Akira's Shadow would likely question the Thieves for 'embracing a lie even after they know the truth,' not believing them to be in the room for himself, but desperately wanting the opposite to be true. It takes much back-and-forth from _all_ the Thieves for Shadow Joker to even begin to hope that his team truly cares for him as a person. After that's said and done, the PTs (probably Queen specifically) tell Shadow Joker to return to the real Akira, promising to continue this conversation in the real world. The Shadow says he'll hold them to that before handing his teammates the Treasure (which everyone admittedly forgot about), that being the mask on his face. He teases the Thieves for forgetting what they came for and it's the closest he comes to a genuine smile that the PTs see in the entire Palace. His true smile comes after he watches his maybe-friends (in his mind) booking it out of his Palace as the cognition collapses around him, just before returning to Akira.

If Joker had never entered the cognitive world or became the wild card, I could easily see him turning into a jaded, rebellious cynic due to how horribly he was treated at the beginning of the game. And even if he was put in juvy due to getting expelled by Kamoshida (lets face it, Ryuji was walking a thin line, and even without going to the palace they still would've met and possibly gotten along for being pariahs at the school. And Kamoshida would've targeted Ryuji and friends just because it's Ryuji.) So his palace could be about how his desire for justice gets warped into vengeance, or something.

Okay palace idea *Cough* it's crap *Cough* It's a museum, a history museum focusing purely on the Phantom Thieves. It wouldn't be anything extravagant, but it would be cold, dark, gloomy, and entirely empty except for him. After Akria heard that mementos would be their last battle, he made hia own palace. He fell into a state of depression and focused on getting as many strong personas as he could so he could literally make a palace for himself. I picture a history museum so he could walk through and look at all of the things that's happened in his life. Through certain areas you'd find the confidants and party members or the other palaces they've faced together. The museum would be closed, and you would only fight Akria throughout all of it (I picture he'd still be able to switch personas). In all of the battles Akria will beg the others to leave, the others want their fearless leader back and ignore his pleas. Once they finally reach the end, it's just a simple room with on large glass window with Akria staring out at the city. "I don't want it to be over... I want to fight next to you all, I want to keep exploring. I hate it... I really do. I shouldn't have ever started changing hearts because it was all going to end eventually and I'd lose everything I've gained over time..." "I thought you changed hearts to knock those messed up bastards out of power?" "I'm part of this group because I want a place to belong! While I was with you I made friends! I don't want to be the outcast anymore! The Phantom Thieves are my best friends and I can't lose you!" "Joker..." "...Get out." "We're not just going to leave you here." "If you don't leave now I will use force." "You wouldn't fight us, Joker... Would you?" "You've all come do far and gotten so strong, I'm sure you'll beat me... Eventually." And the treasure is multiple things; All of the little gifts the others gave him, all neatly put on a shelf and proudly displayed for all to see.

Kurusu Akira, Theater, Cafe LeBlanc, Theater of Deception In which Akiren falls into despair after moving away. the Remaining Phantoms are chatting at LeBlanc, talking about Akiren, when one of their phones simply says, "Candidate Found" As soon as they hear that, a mewl alerts them. Morgana had run all the way from Akiren's home to Leblanc, just to scream, "Akira's not mentally sane!" The Palace itself is simple. Many, many masks line the walls. Personas of many kinds. Each Movie is different, some childhood memories, some beautiful memories of the Phantoms. Running the Ticket Stand is Akira himself. His yellow eyes stared into the Phantoms, who's clothes had changed, though not to their thief outfits, but to the School uniforms they once wore together. He refueses to sell the tickets, saying that they couldn't purchase any without a key. The Key itself is a mental roadblock, where they had to go to Aki's place in the real world, which opened a journal he wrote in. Cue heist mission to steal the Journal and Key. As soon as they touched the key and brought it back to their hotel rooms, they all fall asleep, waking up in Akira's Velvet Room. Lavenza and Igor explain what happened, and Mako realizes, based on what she just learned and Morgana's info dump earlier, that Akira was depressed. They wake up and read the journal. Akira had clearly been counting down to a specific day 3 weeks later. Morgana shrieks, saying that Akira had been staring at his anti-depressants and sleeping pills strangely when he left. *21 days until Akira fades* They enter the palace again, showing the key. Shadow Aki throws tickets at them before running away. "Don't look at me. I never want anyone to see me like this." among others echoed throught the theater. They go through many movies, learning more about Aki's perspective on the entire fiasco. 'To you, Leader of the Phantom Thieves. You have commited crimes against yourself, and have drowned in your miserey, not seeing those who have been by your side. Your actions have caused corruption to form within your heart. We will destroy this danger without fail. We will take it. We will save your heart. **The Phantom Thieves** " "What have I done? A-am I no more than Shido...?!" Shadow Chair-kun spoke. "Stay away from me. Don't look. Please. It hurts. Don't look. STAY AWAY!" Finally, they enter the main Stage thing. There, sitting by hundreds of masks, is Shadow Akira, in chains. The fight is one of desperation, rushed, panicing attacks that hit hard, but infrequently. The Shadow collapses, and the Phantoms hug him. the Masks turn red, coming together to form Arsene and Satanael, who both dissapear and vanish. The theater itself begins fading as Shadow Akira leads them out. Akira himself wakes up and swiftly goes back to Shibuya. The second he sees his old friends, tired and coated with curry, he hugs them tighter, cries, and smiles before speaking in his usually soft voice. "Thank you"

(This is during their escape) As they were near the entrance of the palace to escape debris was blocking the way, shadow Akira holds it making space for them to get out as they get out he loses his grip as the palace collapse on him. They wanted to help but the damage had already been done as he slowly fades into the theater he tells them "The show is over." And then he fades away in the debris nowhere to be seen they thought his shadow died but he went back to is real self at the last second.

A theatre like the ones that please would be performed in would be Akechi palace, but Akira palace would be a movie theatre as he himself never performed for anyone in person. Unlike with Akechi with his detective Prince persona that he plays for everyone. Akira has always been more of a support well everyone else takes the stage. His Palace would of have movies of The Phantom thieves or people Akira help its focused on them. Well he's in the background, a side character, a supporting character. In a way Akira and Goro are similar, keeping up a song and dance, wearing a mask that is not them. But when The Phantom thieves get deeper in to the palace disturbing things would happen some of the movies would become more scary, questionable, or would be about Akechi. And the last room what kind of resemble the last room in bendy and the ink machine, many different projectors projecting movies across all the walls. Projector that would be projecting a movie right above shadow Akira head would show what happens in the engine room. But from Akira prospective will fit in a force as monologue. It would be something depressing or something like that, and then all the projectors turn off and when the lights turn on shadow Akira is standing there...

We have waited patiently for you to come to us for help, the way we do to you whenever we require your assistance. However, we have let this war against yourself go on for far too long. We have watched from the side as you tore yourself apart in an attempt to become the person you believe we needed. Joker has led us well, but we will only find ruin if you withhold Kurusu Akira's right to be human. You have committed the fatal sin of Pride, deeming yourself the only person capable of taking on the world, forgetting the path you have walked and the people you met on your journey. We have come to steal your distorted heart. We have come to take Kurusu Akira back. -The Phantom Thieves His fingers trembled as he held onto the familiar card. It was neat and smooth to the touch, nostalgia hitting him full force as he gazed upon the splashes of red and black on the paper. The more he stared at the words, replaying them over and over in his head, the more the feeling in his chest seemed to expand until it was bursting out, climbing out his throat and escaping through his lips. He was laughing, he realized. Hysteria bloomed from his lungs, fuelling every bout of laughter that he let loose. Once he managed to get ahold of himself, a cruel, unfamiliar smile decorated his face. It felt foreign on his lips, a pathetic imitation of the arrogant grins he had gotten acquainted with over the year at Tokyo, but he barely found it within himself to care. He lifts his head, meeting his own gaze in the mirror in front of him. As if to match his smile, the mirth in his grey eyes was steel-cold. Somehow, the sight only tempted him to laugh more. "Take my heart, huh?" He muses humourlessly. "Have fun with what's left of it, I suppose." He failed to catch the despair that flickered in his grey pupils, the exhaustion that seemed to cling to him like the dust in the attic. The little camera hidden between dusty books, however, did. Morgana: I don't understand. How could you, of all people, have a Palace? Joker: I think you know, or at least that some of you can guess. We defeated Shido in his Palace and he tried to bring us down with it. He has men working for him with the research of Futaba's mother to manipulate the hearts and minds of anybody they want. When I saw what this power could do, I remembered how I got here in the first place. I remembered, and I saw the man who convicted me, right before my eyes. Do you remember, Ryuji? Ryuji: Hey, yeah! He was that guy at the hotel! Wait...does that mean all this time, you've been planning to take him down? Joker: I'd been working up to it. I knew that if we kept after the Treasures that Morgana sent us after, we'd be able to take him on. It was just our luck that we happened on his whole conspiracy. I was happy when I found out we were becoming a thorn in his side, that we had always been working against him from the start. It was perfect for my revenge, even better than Akechi's plans. I'd avenge even him, bring Shido to his knees and crush him under the weight of all his sins. But... Futaba: But what? We won, Joker! We can stop now, live a normal life. Even mom must be resting easy now... Joker: That's just it. We're not done yet. Every single one of those people on Shido's side, the men we saw who were Cognition and Shadow as one, must be taken out. They have access to the Cognitive Pscience research, and they must all have Palaces. We have to finish them off and leave everything wide open. Heh, maybe 'No Good Tora' will take charge instead. If he ever had a Palace, he destroyed it himself. But those other men have to go. We have to end the people who cause others misery, once and for all. Ann: That's NOT the way we do things! I had the chance to turn Kamoshida into a vegetable! If I didn't do it then, you don't get to do that now! Joker: You know, it's not too late. We just have to find his mental self. Morgana: Joker, enough! This isn't like you! Something about all of this has gone straight to your head! What is it? What do you value SO MUCH that you'd turn into a monster to protect it? @@thejackanddaveshow5661 ​ I'd envisioned a battle with everyone against Joker where he first makes use of his Personas individually, then as he weakens, he launches all of the ten that he can hold at one time at once. You saying there should be Mirror Shadows as well? It's not a bad idea. I just wouldn't see Joker - even jaded - wanting to work alongside anything but the real team. It'd be more dramatic if one of his cries during battle was "You've got to listen to me! You have to BELIEVE in me!!", as though desperate to get them to see things his way. If you just meant a mirror to show them looking at themselves, I'd say a big mirror, then. That'd work. As for everyone else, thanks for the praise. I appreciate it.

Aight, I saw the "play as akechi" comment and it gave me an idea. See, you play the entire game as Joker, but maybe there's some sort of trigger in game to develop a palace by the end. Either way, Akira disappears completely, and the Phantom Thieves desperately contact Akechi to find out what's going on. Turns out, the palace is the Circus of Fools, his sin being quite complex, but I believe you could describe it as something like isolation or loneliness. The palace itself is a series of gigantic tents, bright and colorful, all to showcase how far he's come. In the palace, rather than fighting any preset shadows (that Akechi presumably could not capture), you instead fight personas that Joker has fused, including skills they inhereted or learned. (Maybe you could rule out DLC, as your party would be wiped instantly with some of those) The final fight consists of him using each persona that you left him off with one by one. As the fight drags on, he becomes more desperate, doing actions that make absolutely no sense, but nontheless he would be a powerful foe. Finally, he asks the thieves if this is what they want. To beat down their own leader. You get a quote from each one, to the effect of: "We're sorry, but we have to in order to save you." After a long pause, Joker turns to Akechi. "Why are you here?" Throughout Akechi's playtime, you get to determine your answer. "I need my rival alive." "I've changed, and it's time you did too." "Payback, for handling Shido without me." Then, Joker summons Satanael, but instead of any powerful attack, you see the words "Call of Chaos". Quite the forbidden skill, seen only on personas through modding, but I think it would give a good shock to any in the fight. Akechi tackles Joker to the ground before the attack can go off, knowing the power just by sense, as he is quite familiar with it. They wrestle on the ground, writhing and yelling, until Akechi reaches up to Joker's face and rips of his mask. But underneath is another mask. Ryuji's mask. In utter shock, Akechi takes it off, only to see Ann's. Akechi backs off and gestures to Joker's mask. Joker starts taking off each mask. Ann's, Makoto's, Futaba's, Haru's. However, there is no Crow mask. He was the one he couldn't save, the one he couldn't figure out how to build a mask for. "I think I finally get it now. Everything. I concealed my identity just to satisfy those around me. Every single one of you were just interactions that I had to face with a different mask. Except for you..." Akechi nods. "I was the only one who matched you step for step, even if for just mere moments a day. It makes sense that you could never manage a mask for me." Joker falls to the ground. "No more playing pretend, I'm sick of my life being one giant stunt that I have to pull." And with that, Joker's shadow turns into his treasure. The very same ivory mask that he adorns for those who need him. He no longer needs it. He's accepted that he needs only to be himself. Sorry for the crappy fanfic. Please enjoy!

I can imagine his Palace being a Theatre. His shadow is wearing a mask that very closely resembles Akira's actual face, but shocks the team when they realize the mouth doesn't move, since it's a mask. His desires formed into a physical nature due to his immense want of someone actually putting forth their effort to let him lean on their shoulder for once. Let him vent his issues instead of listening to the issues of others and helping fix them, like he always has. The theatre represents how everyone sees Akira through the many masks he wears. His team thinks its cool he can use multiple personas, and Akira lies constantly to confidants so he can form some sort of way to help provide what he can to the group. All he wants is someone to come help him through his problems, like he has for others so many times before. I kinda imagine what Akira's shadow says to the team... "So you've come. I had a feeling you would." Ryuji; "Wha... why? Why are you here? Why the hell does this place exist within our leader's heart?! Isn't that shit impossible?!" "Did you honestly come to ask me trivial questions such as that? I highly doubt that to be the case, if true." Futaba; "Uhhh... guys... his mouth... why isn't it moving?" Makoto; "Is that... a mask of Joker's face you're wearing?!" ".... We all wear masks upon our hearts, do we not? I have seen what you all have undertook and gone through. Surely, this should be no surprise for you. However. I beg your silence for a moment. My other self... Akira... he is in grave danger." Ann; "What?! Why?!" "To put it bluntly, his mind is broken. An emotion called 'clinical depression'." Yusuke; "That doesn't make any sense. Our leader is-!" "Let me finish, won't you, Yusuke? You are correct. Such a situation would make no sense... under normal circumstances. But do these appear to be normal circumstances to you? Look. Look around you. A theatre, covers in masks. They are everywhere, no matter where you look. A man of many faces birthed this place... a man who is never truly known under the name 'Akira Kurusu'. No one knows or understands the real Akira. Just the masks that he chooses to adorn." Morgana; "You're lying! That isn't true! There's no way our leader thinks like that!" "Hmm? What made you think what I said was true? Just because words leave, does not mean they hold a tone of truth. I am simply speaking how Akira thinks... I am his heart... after all." Haru; "No... why... why does he think like that?" "Because his memories... they have warped. His depression has shifted and changed them into nothing more than hazy lies, leaving barely a fraction behind that holds truth." Ryuji; "How the hell can we fix that?! None of that is true!" "..." Ryuji; "Don't go silent on us now! Goddamnit, answer me!" "Inside this Theatre... are Cinema Rooms... each hold a movie reel, portraying his broken and fragile memories... find them... and fix them... I recommend that you do your best to hurry. If you do not, his mental state shall worsen and worsen. Eventually, to a point of no return. Bring him back into the light... before he dies mentally. Before his eyes lose life. Before he does something that cannot be undone."

I've always had an idea for a Persona game ever since finishing P5 (it's the only one I've played so please no spoilers for others if any of the following ideas are familiar) The metaverse would be utilized to explore memory worlds rather than palaces. These memory worlds are key moments of someone's life that defines a part of their personality. It could be a happy memory of a friend, or a traumatic memory of abuse. The memory worlds are accessed by carrying a "key" through the entry way to the location of the memory. The "Key" being an object central to the memory that would instantly invoke the memory if seen by the owner of the memory world. (Sort of like the opposite of breaking into a palace to steal it's treasure and destroy the palace, this time you're bringing a key to create a memory world in order to gather information.) Individual memory worlds end in a foggy wall that can't be penetrated. This is where the memory of the event gets foggy. This could either be due to the owner intentionally trying to hide the truth, it could be due to trauma, or it could simply be because they honestly don't have that information or can't remember. One person might have several different memory worlds that seem unrelated at first, but once you've investigated them all, you would then have to confront their owner. Similar to a calling card in Persona 5, you would meet with the person him/herself and interrogate them using the information you do know. This forces them to remember the whole story, allowing you to finally have access to their true memory, confronting whatever force is keeping them from remembering. I brought this up because your idea for a palace really fits my own ideas for an imaginary Persona 6. I thought that was interesting! (I also have lots of other ideas for this imaginary game. It's a bit of a hobby of mine to think things like this through.)

"Come one, come all! The show is about to begin! All the world is a stage after all... *so put on a mask and play your part* ." Ren's Palace turns Tokyo into a grand theater, lively and bright, yet there's something unsettling about it. Shadows and Cognitions both don masks, unable or unwilling to reveal their true faces. The residents react to the Phantom Thieves with horror. 'HOW CAN YOU SHOW YOUR FACE TO US!? WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING A MASK!? YOU'RE RUINING THE SHOW!' They shriek, despite the PT being masked themselves. Ren's Shadow is found center stage, the theater's leading man performing act after act, swapping roles as often as needed. The audience reviles the villain, praises the hero and begs for more even as the Shadow struggles to keep going. The distortion in Ren's heart began the moment he donned his glasses, his own mask. Everyone pegged him with a different role. A troublemaker, a criminal, a delinquent. Founding the Phantom Thieves made it worse, not better. Now he had the role of leader, of a devil may care rogue. Expanding his confidants simply added to his troubles. Guinea pig, key item, surrogate older brother, student, mentor. He was acting in one role or another at almost all hours of the day. So heavy, so suffocating, yet he dreaded even removing a single mask. It was so obvious wasn't it? *No one cared to know the real Ren Amamiya.* They didn't want the boy with a false criminal charge, they wanted one of his many roles. So he let them have all the masks they wanted, losing himself within his many acts. His Treasure within the Palace is an exact replica of the Joker mask he wears in the metaverse, kept tucked in his coat lapel and on his person at all times. Take it out of the Palace, and it becomes Ren's glasses, his first mask.

Palace: The Circus of Justice Ruler: Protagonist Background: no one but the confidants of Joker remembers the events of Christmas Eve. So to the general public, the Phantom Thieves just disappeared. But there are still so many questions that they want answered. Who were they? Why did they do what they do? How did they do it? These questions were asked worldwide. But this cognition could not exist in Momentos, for it no longer existed. So it took form in the real world. In the shape of a TV show. A Jester wearing different masks wherever he went, always with a bird shape around the eyes. He would spend his days trapped in a foreign city, helping many oddly dressed characters, fighting the monsters that infected peoples hearts. And sacrificing himself to save the world. To many, they believed that was all it was, but for the confidants, it was *to* accurate. Many events shown replicated what actually happened to the Phantom Thieves, and they talked about how similar things were when each one of the Thieves spent time with the same person. The Thieves gathered everyone that still remembered What actually happened on Christmas Eve, to see if they remembered as well. Followed by a surprise visit from Mona. But at the time of this meeting another episode was being played, one where the Jester was being killed. Unable to take it anymore, Skull struck out in rage, not caring about the damage he would do to the television. He just wanted to make it shut up. But what happened next could never have been expected. He fell through the screen. In surprise, the other Confidants followed. First the Thieves, believing this to be from Momentos, then the others, to curious to turn away. To find a whole new world. The city of Tokyo has been transformed into a stage. One where the Jester was one of the main actors. No. He was THE actor. Forced to play many roles. The friend, the leader, the inspiration, the shoulder to cry on, the sole pillar of strength, and many more. To many for one person to handle. It is quickly revealed that this... Circus is nothing more than a prison. Force to go through countless hours of “community service” to repent for his crimes. The Thieves try to save the Jester, for they could not let their friend suffer like this. But in a prison the size of a city, there are many more prisoners than just the Jester. They fought valiantly, but forced to defend those who could not fight, and the ever growing army of shadows, the Thieves were overwhelmed. It seemed that they would die that day. Until... “Is this where your Justice ends?” The Crow, imprisoned by the God of Control after his defeat, aids the Confidants in retreating. Each confidant eventually sees their stories through the Jester’s eyes. And while it appears wholesome, the constant change of parts is overwhelming. The fear he holds for the feelings the Jester has for each of his female companions, should they find out his multiple relationships, weighs heavily on his heart. And the only rest that the Jester receives each day, are when he is forced to sleep for a few scant hours. What is shown shocks the confidants. Unable to believe that they have caused such pain to their friend, family, and to some, lover. They admit their faults. How they forced such weight on the Jester. They each are able to break the chains that held the boy down, and spread their new found Wings of power to take him to freedom. Now the Phantom Thieves, with new powers and allies, go on the attack. Fighting through the city, and the Warden, they are able to get to the very core of the distortion. Leblanc And there they find the Joker. But not the one they know. This one, whose coat is white like snow, and a mask black as night, can not let his confidants endanger themselves anymore. For this is the cognition that believes that he must be sacrificed. Because for what he loses, everyone else gains something more. And if he must be sacrificed so that those he loves can live freely... then so be it. But the Thieves will not let this happen. They can’t let their friend carry this burden alone. Because the Phantom Thieves have and always will be at their strongest together. But Joker will not allow that to happen. And if he must hurt them now to save them later he will. And then he unleashes his power. And what stands before them is a recreation of the God of Control. The Thieves are once again in a losing battle. Despite the new power, Joker was always the strongest of them all. Any strength that each individual has was countered by their weakness. It would seem history would repeat itself once more. But before that happens, the Warden arrives. Not to aid the Joker, but to offer one last execution. To Fuse the power of the individual, into one ultimate form. They accept. And what arrives is just what they needed. Satanael. Humanities Wings of Rebellion. The fight continues. A long and hard fought one. For while the new Persona is without a doubt powerful, it is not backed by the conscious desires of several billion souls. Eventually the Thieves win. But while powerless, Joker still tries to stop them. Begging them not to continue, for he could not stand if they were hurt because of him. But the Thieves remind Joker that they are hurt in turn by him placing all of this weight on his shoulders alone. They can take care of themselves, as well as their idiot of a leader. Convinced, Joker takes off his mask and hands it to the Thieves, telling them that the treasure was in front of them this whole time. But before the Cognition disappears, Mona says one last thing. “It’s time for you to sleep now Joker.”

You have dared to force your own mind to be corrupted by the same evils you once swore to avidly fight up against as the leader of the legendary Phantom Thieves of Hearts. And that is something I will no longer allow. I have tried to make you realise the true nature of the power you now possess, forcing you through endless trials to make sure you and your so-called allies would be powerful enough to protect this world and everyone in it. But...it would seem like I failed. Thus, I shall now bring my vengeance upon you. Joker's Palace: City of Change. Distortion: Wild Card. Treasure: a box containing his glasses and memories of his Confidants and PTs. His Palace envelops Tokyo, with several distinct sections. It is never the same map twice, and some sections can get cut off. He has two Ruler Shadows, one being his insecure, weak self, and the other being Joker, who represents the whole mask he's crafted. The Palace has no normal shadows, but versions of himself that wear the masks of various Confidant Arcanas run around. And there's Arsene in a human form, the PT's guide, trying to put the Trickster back on track. He's the one who let the PT in by forcing a opening that the Metanav detected. Sections: Theater of Deceit. (he adopted many masks, and lives behind them) Prison of Hatred. (him vs society) Museum of Obsession. (obsession with changing hearts) Garden of ???. (Confidants are plants that cry constantly for his attention) Circus of Sacrifice. (none of his friends deserve to suffer, only him.) Fortress of Strength. (he gains power by making friends, but he is alone in power) Cafe of Service. (every Confidant starts with a deal, a contract) etc, etc. S!Joker will appear everywhere and will be passive to the PT, but if he finds you and S!Akiren in the same room he will force you to exit the Palace. Be cautious. Boss Battle: both Ruler Shadows, with S!Akiren using masks to attack, and has no face. S!Joker is S!Akiren's deadly shield, and uses every persona he's ever had besides Arsene. After S!Akiren is defeated, the two will merge into a massive cage made of masks. The boss theme is a big mishmash of themes, changing depending on what's happening. Like, if you're in trouble, it'll change to Last Surprise and mock you with the lyrics, and if you wait on the menu for a while, it'll change to a battle version of Beneath the Mask, In the first phase they have All Out Attack, so focus on S!Joker and remove weaknesses if possible. Also, there's like, one safe room and it's not even a normal safe room. It's the Thieves Den from P5R. There's a S!Joker there too, and he had services such as SP/HP restoring and shopping.

Imagine if someone created a mod for it... That'd be amazing. So hard, but wow. That'd be absolutely incredible.

I imagine Ren/Akira as a huge dork in the real world, while suave and cool in the meta verse, but in both worlds, he always has a wide-eyed goofy grin. Why? Because his mother- a ballerina- and his father- a Neo-Featherman actor - always told him to smile, because a smile lets the others know you’re there to save the day and be a hero. I believe his palace is a circus. Bright, colourful, and fun. It houses a large big top, rollercoaster, and funhouse. Shadow Ren/Akira manifests as a 9 year old version of himself, who hides his pain deeper in the palace. This pain manifests in the Haunted House attraction, with all the Phantom Thieves encountering their worst fears, because Ren/Akira is so good at absorbing emotional pain that he won’t release it for fear of giving his friends a bad day. His treasure manifests in a stuffed toy that his parents had made him that looks exactly like the metaverse version of Morgana, because that’s what Morgana was based off of, Ren/Akira’s hope.

*This is for the Royal Version, normal is on the Instrumental* Palace: Theatre of Fate Distortion: Accusation Deadly Sin: All of Them After Dr. Maruki has been defeated, and Ren was set to return home, Sojiro gets a call from his parents. They tell him that they no longer want Ren. After hearing this, Ren falls into a state of sorrow and depression. Futaba notices this and tells everyone. Sumire in particular is very concerned. Futaba decides to fiddle with her phone for a bit. Sure enough, the Meta-Nav returned. She hesitates, but tries to input Ren Amamiya into the Nav. Unfortunately, it’s a hit. She then takes it to the others. They all help in discovering the other commands. LeBlanc and Theatre. Morgana tells the thieves that because Ren has a palace, he no longer has access to his Persona. They agree that they have to make this happen. What shocks them is that Akechi shows up and joins them just so he can finish their rivalry. Thus, the heist in the Theatre of Fate begins. You will not be able to control Joker at all for the duration of this Palace. You are able to take primary control of any other Phantom Thief except for Oracle, though the game defaults it to Violet. The mini-bosses of the Palace are the Phantom Thieves. Their Shadow forms are their Personas, with Crow’s being Loki. When the team fights Shadow Ren, there will be two phases, like Shido. Phase 1 has him dressed for a show, wearing his mask and holding a cane, with Arséne chained to the wall. Phase 2 fuses Shadow Ren and Arséne, making Ren grow wings and horns. The heist begins on 4/30, and the deadline is 5/20. The treasure would be a key, and the object would be his journal. If the Phantom Thieves fail, Ren will lose all emotions and banish himself to the Velvet Room. His cognition would be different, as the mask of his friends would hang there to remind him of his suffering. If they succeed, Ren will realize that he belongs here, and go to hug his friends and finish his rivalry with Akechi. Dialogue in a reply to this comment.

I find it interesting that Akira/Ren is the only one who keeps his mask and thief attire. While other PTs were mostly themselves (with the exception of Makoto and Haru). Just a fun thought that Akira’s shadow is Joker. Though I have always visualized his palace to have two shadows. One that is the super confident and strong Joker, and then the other is Akira himself trying to hide his weak self away from sight and relies on Joker to be the perfect leader instead

I actually think there was a fanfic with the idea of Cognitive Joker and Shadow Akira, and Akira relying on Joker. The thing is, in that fanfic, Akira goes to Mementos frequently to don both the physical and emotional mask of Joker. Poor thing shoves his emotions down into his heart and they distorted his heart from the inside.

You said while other PT's were mostly themselves. To specify its like how they are outside the metaverse in their real school life days. its how they act. For example, Ann. Her PT outfit is very seductive just like her looks. The outfits for the Other PT's are a reflection of their true selves that they hide within. SPOILERS! but the game has been out for a while so... In Makoto's confidant, we see her with protagonist watching a dinosaur movie where she gets really excited. but when in other places, she acts so disciplined. I think it's around Christmas time when you decide to not go out with any of the girls. they all come to your door and Morgana along with Soijiro leave protagonist alone for the girls to be him up (Anime Humor) During this time Haru says, "take my gift before I smash it. showing Haru's true side.

And the all out attack is the only one that has more than 4 people, with everyone attacking at once, and having a climactic win banner with everyone in it, with Joker not doing that wierd blood thing, just on his knees, in the middle of the screen.

When the discovery of Joker’s palace came to light the last person one would expect to try and help would be Akechi. He was truly their last chance for help as everyone else had already tried with no success. So here he was, face to face with a less than happy Joker, no, Akira he deserved to be who he truly was. “What are you doing here?” The masked man had asked, turning to face Akechi. His usual smirk was now gone and his posture had changed. “I’m here to talk to you, Akira.” “There’s nothing to discuss. Leave.” The command was simple but Akechi had proven to be stubborn when something needed to be done. “There's a lot to discuss Joker. Akira, you may not realize this but you have hurt everyone.” It was true but the amount of hurt he had caused varied between all the Phantom Thieves. “You gravely injured Futaba, Ann and Makoto. Haru and Morgana are scared of you now. Ryuji and Yusuke just want the old you back. They all miss you Akira, this has to end and you need to return to them as the old you. Your desires have been tainted by something and you are not who you used to be.” He was getting desperate at this point as it seemed his words made no breakthrough. “Please Akira, we need you back.” The shadow of what was once a leader simply shook his head. “Of course you wouldn’t understand. This cannot end. I want to keep things the way they used to be. Without that I have nowhere to belong!” Akira was not the type to yell. “So just go and let me keep things like this! I don’t want this to end!” “Akira, you don’t understand. It doesn’t have to end. Your friendships will stay, no one will abandon you. Do you remember, you saved me. From Shido, from myself. You gave me a place to belong, now I want to return the favour, but I cannot do that unless you allow me to.” Akechi was barely able to dodge the attack Akira sent his way, the time for talk was over. “Leave me here. I will not be afraid to use force.” Akechi chuckled a bit, reaching for his sword he righted his mask and took a fighting stance. “Very well.” Akechi smiled, finally summoning his own persona, Robin Hood. The time for one final battle begins.

Well if he has a Palace he can't use a persona. Though maybe he's a special case. Considering he can wield multiple personas, a feat that seemed impossible.

Idea: Joker's palace isn't a theatre, it isn't a circus, or even the velvet room. It's one big video game. No, I'm not trying to be meta. Think about it. Confidant ranks are objective values as evidenced by what Morgana says after faking Joker's death. He felt his bond with Akechi grow. After being sent to juvie, he suddenly realizes that nothing he had done mattered. He was doomed to fail, even after beating the holy grail. Even after being released, he would never see his friends again, and things would go back to how they were before the events of the game. Society didn't change because of the metaverse collapsing, that's stated clearly. Joker's palace is a massive 8-bit version of Tokyo, with cognitive people spilling out useless information and the cognitive versions of the thieves explaining their motivations and goals with no true provocation, and saying they'll change, but they never do. The cognitive version of Joker will be the player, pretending to be invested with the lives of the cognitions, but is really just plotting out the best possible outcome for himself. He is distant, adopting no true personality. After all, he's been hiding behind his persona for so long that he himself has forgotten who he truly is. The mighty Satanael is just a lapdog, guarding against Joker's fear of failure of losing, but he has nothing to lose. He doesn't value anyone truly, and he is the hero of his game, one that the thieves are mere pawns in. But, the worst part is that the metanav no longer exists. He will stew in his own palace until the day he dies. And nothing Will have changed. His palace is the Game of Stagnation.

Name: Akira/Ren/Joker Place: LeBlanc Distortion: Refuge I imaging him viewing the world as a war zone and LeBlanc would be a refuge. Akiren would be the creator and ruler of this and all his friends come to him or advice. He looks down on all his confidants saying things like “look at all the lowly trash, begging me for help.” Or something of the sorts. Anyway, great job on the track I love it!!

I remember reading a fanfic that involved that Protagonist having a palace. This takes place after the bad ending when u take the offer of Jaldabaoth. Joker’s strong desire to protect his friends from harm and keep things the way it should be (staying as the phantom thieves forever playing) created a palace of his own. Within his palace, it’s a sort of paradise where everything the way Joker wants is perfect. Pieces of his best memories of his friends are scattered in this heaven like field, cognitive versions of his friends are happy and Joker’s cognitive version is so happy in his palace as if it’s his personal heaven. To avoid suspicion from Joker, one of the phantom thieves will hang out with Joker in real life while the rest would infiltrate his palace. Depending on the mood of Joker, if he is somehow distressed, angered or sad, the palace’s atmosphere will change drastically allowing some areas in the palace to be accessible. How the palace gameplay went was that Joker’s cognitive version had them visit all of his best memories (which are located inside Giant doors), they would then receive a sort of key needed to open the main door leading to Joker Treasure.

I can imagine Ren's Palace being a prison which is the entire city of Tokyo. He sees the city as one grand prison since he was forced to stay there for an entire year under probation. He kept feeling himself caged and imprisoned in Tokyo, slowly giving up hope to obtain true freedom, especially after discovering that Shido was the one who technically ruined his life. His shadow will take the form of his real-self counterpart but wearing a prisoner's suit with golden eyes, chained in his hands and feet, and the wardens Caroline and Justine are like mini bosses before facing him. His berserked Shadow version would be none other than Arsene himself, but darker and has more chains than Ren's initial Persona.

Jokers palace would be set in Leblanc, his sin would be regret It'd be a Masquerade party, with a theater performance after you send the calling card, joker is the master where everyone respects him, not fearing him. In the palace, they have to do a puzzle on Jokers life, which his shadow will guide them since joker is a leader, like futabas shadow did, and as they get closer to his treasure they find out more of why joker is the way he is and why he has completely lost his mind, once they send the card joker completely goes insane and can't control his persona anymore Ren: A calling card? Hm........Morgana....? Shadow: *laughs like a psycho* PERSONA!!! *Palace Alert 100%* *I believe plays as you get to the final floor for the battle* The battle starts and joker seems to take regret in ever stepping in to help that woman, he also regrets ever talking to Ann and he wouldn't be going through what he has, then his battle would be almost IMPOSSIBLE to beat because he uses stronger versions of whatever personas you fused while playing as him, and the battle would result in the phantom thieves on the ground, and as the shadow is about to finish them all off with a sinful shell, Ren jumps in to stop it, and now it cues a 1v1 battle, but you actually have to fight and this battle will be hard one phase, the final fight, as it gets closer to the end Ren is low on sp and hp, but in the party slot kasumi joins, then akechi, then Morgana, then everyone joins starting the ultimate all out attack which ends the battle, and joker has a choice, kill the shadow and take himself out with him and get his well deserved rest, or just leave him, he chooses that the "game" is never truly over, and takes the treasure which in the palace it's his mask, and when they get back to reality it's Rens glasses, Ren grabs the glasses and trys to put them on, but they turn to a blue sparkling mist and goes away with the wind leaving Ren feeling guilty for what he truly believed. Ren: ....I'm sorry guys, I'm not the leader you deserve, I'm a fool, and I'm no better than any heart we've changed.... Ryuji: shut it.....you effed up, but guess what you still saved us. Ann: had you not come into your own palace, we'd be dead right now... Ren: ...... Akechi: *slaps Ren* Ren: 😟🙁 Akechi: you need to stop, you did so much good and that was rewarded with bad, the selfless things you did were foolish, but brave and something that if more people did, there'd be no need for the phantom thieves Ren: mabye you're right....

This is actually really amazing, the way it's fully vocalised shows it's important as only the most important songs like rivers in the desert and fully vocalised. The way it talks about the lies that grew within our team heralds towards the ideas of distortion everyone has already been saying, of akira hiding too much and it eating away at him, the music however seems very aggressive, and it talks of the monster he's become...so perhaps he's still not ready to accept help, he's losing himself in his pride. The music choice, I'd still say it fits with a prison but it's ambiguous The source of distortion? Why only his arrest forms~

Rivers in the Desert was absolutely incredible. Hearing those vocals kick in really amplified it in my eyes. I wanted to try to do something similar here

This is the final and most important palace afterall, the most emotionally fuelled...to see someone who saved you all......fall to such a depth and to learn he's always been suffering like this but smiling and saving you all whilst his own heart suffers in silence

Imagine in P5R the possibility of Joker getting a Palace becomes real and for the month of March Kasumi Yoshizawa takes over as the Leader of the Phantom Thieves where they storm Joker’s Palace and reform his distorted heart. It’d be like P3Fes’ the Answer.

THAT MEANS THERE WILL BE A FEMALE MAIN CHARACTER

I was listening to this just before bed, and I thought of something. Set up: Akechi has sewn the seeds of doubt into Jokers mind, doubt that his friends even like him, doubt that anyone would even care about him if it weren't for the masks he puts on. Palace: a tower with 8 floors, each holding a twisted cognitive version of one of the Phantom Thieves, each hating Joker, they'd go in the order you met them in. Twisted Thieves: First is Morgana, a large headed bestial cat with the ability to shapeshift, he attacks with attacks centered on one member of the party at a time. second is Ryuji, a deceptively fast giant with a wilted right leg, attacking indiscriminately with physical abilities. Third is Ann: Ann is a bubbly woman with large *ahem* "assets", comically large in fact, she uses brainwashing and sleep to beat you. Fourth is Yusuke: Yusuke would have eerily long limbs, a long head, and a grin seemingly painfully plastered onto his face, he would use long sweeping attacks and debuffs to attack the whole party. Fifth is Makoto: Makoto is a robot, an utterly emotionless slave designed to kill anyone her boss commands, Makoto attacks the person who attacked her last, deeming them to be the biggest threat. Sixth is Futaba: Futaba's twisted form is of an all knowing all seeing God, having only a silhouette of her, it uses gun and nuclear attacks along with bugging and debuffing itself. Seventh is Haru: Haru would be your average spoiled rich kid, getting everything she wants, every attack would be a gift from either her father, or one of her suitors, she would wear luxurious furs and velvet, and probably be the shortest boss fight because Haru doesn't get screentime. Eighth and final floor would be completely empty except for Joker's shadow, and a cognitive version of Akechi, whispering in his ear, the Shadow Joker would be weeping on his knees, no glasses, no mask, nothing to hide his true self, Joker is completely vulnerable, but cognitive Akechi steps up, opting to fight in Jokers stead, Twisting into what Joker is convinced is a truth teller, a sooth Sayer, after you defeat Akechi, Shadow Joker starts scrambling away in fear, fear that you're going to hurt him, for those are the thoughts that were planted in his mind. Joker's treasure is a box, a box containing a pair of cleats, a rose, a yellow collar, a brush, a pen, a pair of glasses, a black and white photo of Big Bang Burger, a white glove, and Jokers mask.

I feel like cognitive ryuji would attack real morgana (and vice with cog morgana and ryuji) and Haru would have like infinite soma/healing items till she dies and attacks with godly magmata or worse, you get axed

Okay but like on a serious note, Like someone else said, Cafe Leblanc. Where home is to him. Around right before the last initial palace, or around Haru's dad's Palace, when Morgana leaves. Everyone's fighting, not listening to Akira/Ren(whichever name y'all prefer). He just wants his friend back, and he's all alone right now. All the stuff he's gone through, and now he feels trapped again. Like in a jail. And so, as if to escape, that's where the protagonist enters his name, destination, and keyword. Target found. He goes inside alone, and gets overcome by grief and corruption. The thieves, finally realizing their leader is probably distraught, goes and finds Morgana themselves, and gains Haru. They wanted Morgana's return to be a surprise for him. They go to cafe Leblanc, but Sojiro thought he was with them. This causes worry on the team. (now I go onto dialogue so excuse the slight fanfic stuff, I'm a writer lol) Morgana looks at Ryuji. "Skull, open the MetaNav and enter Jokers real name." Skull looks dumbfounded, as do the rest of the team. Futaba looks away. "It's not completely impossible. I joined due to even having a Palace, but a persona user at all?" Morgana looks serious. "But you forget our dear leader can use more than one persona. Honestly, anything for him is possible." The team can't even disagree. Ryuji enters whatever name you used in game. (For here I'll use Akira) "Akira Kurusu. Target found, but not in the real world." The MetaNav says. The team looks clearly distraught. Especially Morgana. "This is because I left.. And now we have to fight our own leader in his own Palace, to get him back.." -------- AND THAT'S IT, anyways I really like this idea

As for actual palace details, like I said, a Jail. Because that's what the Velvet room read his heart as, and formed into due to it. Joker is either the warden or a prisoner on the death row? But it's built more like a dungeon with twists and turns. With all his personas, how does he even know the real him anymore? To him, it's like a game of hide and seek, and he doesn't want to be found and released, just for everyone to leave again. His friends were why he had hope, and they turned away from him, despite how he reached out. He was alone again. Futaba sympathizes the most in this Palace, she knows what it's like to be alone with no way out. It eats you until you have no one to turn to anymore. Morgana feels terrible for even leaving, and the rest of the team definitely feels at fault as well. After the many floors they go through, all of the different shadows from each floor, (each floor resembles each palace they went through, and shadows to go with it. Kind of like a boss rush Palace. Even with weaker versions of each palace ruler too to advance to the next floor. And when they finally reach the last floor, there's only two rooms. Cells. One with the treasure, and one a solitary confinement cell. (I'm going with the prisoner shadow joker boss here) But it's obviously locked, and won't open until the treasure materializes. So they send Joker a calling card through a little mail slot in the door, since he's not in the real world. Then, the treasure flies to the other cell, and the cell opens, creaking open. To everyone's dismay, Joker looks terrible. Not in his Phantom thieves clothes, but a prisoner riddled in chains with no way to escape. And the way he's usually silent? You hear a riddle of full voiced lines. "You all think I really want to be tricked, and left alone again? WELL THINK AGAIN, BECAUSE I HATE MYSELF ENOUGH RIGHT NOW TO EVEN WANT TO BE SAVED! ALL MY PERSONAL HERE STAYED WITH ME LONGER THAN ANYONE ELSE BOTHERED TO!" And so, boss battle. But joker doesn't summon any persona, instead, it's a super messed up looking Arsene, and jokers corrupted form fused to him, in a way. Kind of like a Frankenstein monster. The fight is hard at first, with a sad but intense remix of "Beneath the Mask", showing Joker is a person too. Not just someone to be wanted tossed aside. His choices mattered. He mattered too. The in battle voice lines are about how he doesn't want to be alone again. He doesn't want to be tossed aside, and forgotten. Eventually, as the battle progresses through his defenses, his guard gets lowered as the thieves remind him that they ARE his friends, they'd never leave him over a fight. Morgana apologizing for how he acted in the time of need (although tbh he didn't need to apologize for having feelings too, even joker knows that wasn't his fault). Eventually the team defeats him, and a uncorrupted joker remains, phantom thief form on, but where's his mask? Turns out, his mask, his identity, was his treasure. And it lays on the floor because he made his friends with or without the mask. He's crying. He's still a kid, even if an older one. They all hug. And to their surprise, the Palace remains, to allow them to exit. After all, joker allowed himself to get corrupted, he didn't exactly have a shadow form. So as long as he's alive, the palace will remain if he needs time by himself, but now as a place of solitude.

{SPOILERS} Royal Version: Name: Ren Amamiya Place: LeBlanc Distortion: Theater For this Segment, you would assume the role of Akechi. This would take place after the Maruki incident. Akechi (who was hinted to be still alive) unsatisfied with the fact he didn't get to finish their rivalry spends most of his time brooding and wishing to have their final fight when he gets a call from Makoto M: "Akechi...I didn't think I would have to go to you but this is Urgent...did the MetaNav re-appear for you as well?" A: "Nijima..? Wait the Nav has returned..?" Akechi would look down and notice it's back on his phone. They make plans to gather everyone at LeBlanc where Ren is at, although he doesn't want to come down. Sojiro tell them that Ren's parents refused to take him back, deeming him to be more trouble than he's worth. This caused him to spiral into a depression and he hasn't come out in days. The group already has an idea, they open the Nav and speak the words "Ren Amamiya, LeBlanc, and..." The group struggles to decide what his palace could be, until they decide that from all the masks he has to don, it would be a theater ~PALACE~ Ren's palace is a theater, you walk in and are given a ticket to the "Show" Once you're in, the shadows (Those being Theater Attendants) force you into your seats to watch the show. Shadow Ren comes onto stage and begins a performance, changing masks to fit the roles needed until he gets exhausted and stops. Morgana can sense the treasure ON the Shadow. The Thieves steal the show, rushing onto the stage. Crow: "Ren! What is the meaning of this? Are you telling me you've wallowed in self pity for you so long your desires have become distorted? How pathetic!" Violet: "Senpai! We're all here for you! Just snap out of it and let use take the your treasure!" Shadow Ren: "I don't want the show to end...I refuse to let it end! I was forsaken by those who trusted and "loved" me! Forced to wear a mask! Nobody knows the true me, only what they want to see! Now then, let the show continue!" ~The Fight~ Ren's fight starts with him using Arsene , but as the fight continues he swaps to the Strongest fusions of each Arcana, until he finally reaches Satanael and wipes out the rest of the party with the exception of Violet and Crow. This phase begins when he is at Half health and has him swap back to Arsene, then to Satanael, and finally for the final 1/3rd of his health he uses Raoul. ~Ending and Treasure~ The shadowy Ren falls, his mask hitting the ground. S.Ren: "Why must the show end..?! I just wanted to be someone everyone could like..I wanted to be accepted!" Crow remains silent as Violet speaks up V:"Senpai..if it wasn't for you, none of us would've made it here where we are today. I would still be Kasumi..the others would still be under horrible circumstances as well! It doesn't matter what happens, we'll always accept you for who you are..!" Crow still remains silent as Shadow Ren gets up, he goes to grab the mask but stops, fading back to his true self. The others come to, being confused why the treasure manifested despite them not sending a calling card Morgana comes to the conclusion that he was aware of these desires but didn't try to fix them, finally they grab the mask he dropped, which when they leave the Palace, forms into his glasses, the first mask he ever was forced to use.

That's a lotta fanfic potential.

I could imagine Justine and Caroline being mini bosses throughout the dungeon trying to be the wardens keeping the inmate in his prison. His treasure would be shackles, the very chains that let him become a phantom thief when broken. Outside of the palace however, they turn into his probation notebook, a symbol of his time spent and saved in all of shibuya.

Sounding cool Joker! I'm going to call this theme: Trump Card. How does that sound? I think Akira's palace would be a prison and he is a death row inmate. Shidoh is the warden and all the Bosses hold important positions, and the prisoners are the Confidants. There is a continuous riot going on which Akira is leading. If he succeeds in overthrowing the Bosses, he won't die. At the end of the Boss fight, Shadow Akira confesses that he could never have done anything without his friends, and if it weren't for them he would have just accepted his fate.

I'm late but I just thought of something that would certainly be bad***, so let's say we did the bad ending where we accepted the deal with Yaldabaoth. The Phantom Thieves would be the only ones who aren't affected and they all enter Leblanc to discuss what happened Ryuji: so it's not just me right? Has anyone else noticed how weird the whole city's been? Makoto: yes, it's as if they're not acting like they're in control Ann: what could've exactly happened to those people?! Futaba: wait, where's Ren? Morgana: don't know, he wasn't in his room last night Ann: we've been sending him texts non stop but he just won't respond Yusuke: strange...he doesn't normally ignore our texts Morgana: we'll have to solve this without our leader then, Skull, bring up the Metaverse app Ryuji: yeah sure. *pulls out phone* maybe Joker's already figured out what's happened and he's already at the Palace to take the dude down App: scanning Haru: w-what?! What just happened?! Futaba: we didn't even say a name or the distorted desires yet! Morgana: that's strange...it doesn't search a palace for us automatically...unless... App: Joker, palace, location found Ryuji: hey! What the hell's this thing saying?! Morgana: it's saying...that Joker has a palace now Ann: what?! But that's crazy!! Joker couldn't have any distorted desires!!! Makoto: Morgana, are you sure about this? Morgana: *nods* yes, it's the only explanation Ryuji: that's complete bull!!! We've known Joker for months! He could be a big help to us Makoto: I don't trust him, he's just got that look that really rubs me the wrong way Yusuke: I feel like we shouldn't allow a complete stranger to help us in a problem that he's not involve in Futaba: well yeah, but he's the only one besides us that isn't affected by what's happening out there! Ann: I say we let him help, he's already told us that he's a Persona User so maybe he can be useful Ryuji: seriously guys? What if he's just helping Joker and leading us towards a trap?! I don't like it! Makoto: *sigh* well the votes 3 to 3, Morgana...what do you think? Morgana thinks real hard wether Yu should join their group or decline his help Morgana: let's let him help us for now, we'll try and keep an eye on him just in case he does anything to trick us The whole group nods and they turn towards Yu Makoto: we've come to a decision, we'll let you help us...but we're risking a lot by trusting you Narukami Yu: you won't regret it...I promise Morgana: let's give you a quick rundown on how the Metaverse works After Yu helps the Phantom Thieves, they enter Joker's palace which is a giant castle that's guarded by literal Thieves with masks Skull: this is one heck of a palace! Mona: just remember what we taught you new guy! You rip off their masks when they're not looking and we'll have a good advantage Yu: understood As they explore the palace, they all notice a few portraits of Joker and the Thieves spending their good times together Panther: seeing all these portraits...seeing such good memories in them.....it makes me wish we wouldn't have to do this Fox: I understand how you feel, but this is what must be done... Queen: look alive guys! We made it to the treasure room! They all then see the hidden treasure that they must steal Yu: so this is the treasure of a person's distorted desire? Mona: yes, but first we'll need to give Joker a calling card in order for it to become corporeal Noire: should we really do this? Joker's our friend! Queen: I know, but if we don't do this then we won't be able to save all those people. This has to be done, and Joker needs to pay for his sins...whatever they could be Skull: ok...let's get the calling card ready A day later, Joker walks into his room and notices that Morgana isn't around Ren: strange...where could Morgana be? He walks to his desk only to notice a red card on it with a Phantom Thief symbol on it Ren: no...this couldn't be...is this what I think it is? He opens ups and starts to read the letter " Ren Amamiya, it has come to our attention that you have done something incredibly horrible. We do not know what you could have done to gain a palace but we will do what we must to make you confess. This hurts us just as much as it must hurt you, but we will do what's necessary as Phantom Thieves...we will steal your heart, and you will confess your sins. Goodbye Leader, and we hope that we don't have to fight you. Signed, Skull, Queen, Noire, Mona, Oracle, Panther and Fox, your closest friends and teammates that you once bonded together with" Ren stares at the paper and crumples it up Ren: so...that's how it is huh? *flash* Shadow Ren: I can't believe this! I did everything to save them and this is how they thank me?! Very well then...at least I know how they operate Back in the palace, the Thieves jump into the treasure room to see the treasure taking the form of a mask Oracle: a mask? Fox: it's not just a mask...it's the mask Joker used to wear during his days with us as a Phantom Thief Yu: so he doesn't want to move on Queen: you could tell too? Yu: I had the same desire once too, I made so many good friends...and I didn't want to leave them all behind. It nearly drove me mad...mad from loneliness. Let's just grab the treasure, then get out of here They then walk up to grab the treasure but Yu then sensed something as he quickly back flips and the rest of the group gets trapped by a fallen cage Panther: what the?! Skull: hey! What the heck is this?! They then see Joker jump down from the ceiling and glares at his former teammates Noire: Joker?! Joker: did you really think I wouldn't know you guys would come here first? You seemed to have forgotten who your leader was! Oracle: Joker please! Let us out!! We can help you!! Joker: SHUT UP!!!! I don't want to hear another word from your mouth!!!! Joker then notices Yu standing near him Joker: who is this? Yu: my name is Yu Narukami, I was here to help you...and your friends Joker grits his teeth as he glares at his friends Joker: first you betray me....and then you replace me with a complete stranger?! Mona: Joker... Joker: I SAID SHUT UP!!!!! Yu: look kid, I understand what you're going through, you wanted to live in a more peaceful world, you wouldn't want to leave your friends behind, I was like that a long time ago Joker: you don't know a thing about me!! Yu: I know enough! If you continue to go down this path then you'll just end up regretting it! Part of life is moving on from the things we cherish most, there are things we have to let go! I'm going to give you a choice...let them go, let us change your heart...and you can fix all of this, or don't and we'll just have to steal it from you...I may not look like much but I'm a Persona User too...which means I know how to beat you Joker: ....I came too far to make this world peaceful, and I'm not allowing some adult to take away the one thing I managed to fix! Arsene!!! Joker summons his Persona as Yu sighs Yu: Hard way it is then...Izanagi No Okami!!!! Yu summons his godlike Persona and the battle between the Wild Cards begins. This theme would then start to play during the battle. I don't know about you guys but I think it would be cool if Yu ever did show up to help the Phantom Thieves. Plus it'd make a pretty sweet boss battle if we were the ones controlling Yu again and we'd have to fight Joker, this is just how I think it would go down anyway

(NOTE: THIS WILL LIKELY BE CRINGEY AND DUMB) I can see this happening after Okumura's Palace. Where after Okumara's death. It causes a rift in the team and everyone is blaming someone for killing Okumara. Eventually the Phantom Thieves break up and go their seperate ways. The next part can happen whenever really. But lets just say it takes the place of Shido's Palace. Just as Shido is making a televised speech he suddenly has a mental shutdown. And the Public again blames it on the Phantom Thieves. Everyone decides to meetup however Joker isn't present. After doing some digging around they find that even more people are experiencing mental shutdowns. The team eventually comes to the conclusion that whoever is doing this owns a Palace. But after days of trying they just can't crack it. Eventually they bump into Akechi (note nothing related to Sae's Palace happened up to this point) Then suddenly the Nav boots up on it's own, getting Akechi's attention. They try to hide it but he insists that he has a look at it. This leads to him explaining how he has the same powers as them (minus a few murdery details), and may be able to help them. After explaining how they can't find the palace ruler. Akechi asks to try and says the protag's name (Who I'll just call Ren Amamiya from now on) and the keyword being "Theatre" Everyone gets transfered in and the 1st thing they see is a big cinema screen playing Ren's 1st encounter with Shido. After they're done watching it Ren appears in his casual clothes. "Hope you enjoyed the show. I how many of you already saw that?" The PTs look confused and Ren says "Of course none of you have... You never listen to anything I have to say. Instead I'm the one who already knows everything and has to listen to everybody's problems" More screens light up which show scenes of Ren listening to Confidants. "Ren... is it true? About what you did to Shido?" "...he put a permenant scar on my life. I could've easily done the same with him. Killing him was merciful" "What the hell man?! The Phantom Thieves don't kill people!" "Yeah. They didn't. But I was under the impression that they've broken up. I'm not a member any more." "..." "Anyway... I know what you're here for... let's just get it over with" Ren changes into his PT outfit along with everyone else. He summons two Personas and walks away. "Deal with them" This is also where Akechi shows off Robin Hood for the 1st time. You win the battle and find that Joker ran off deeper into his palace. Then the screen lights up again with Joker on it. "If you want to settle this, meet me at the Velvet Room" Skipping to the end here. Once the PTs beat a mini boss guarding a cell gate. They walk in and enter the "Velvet Room". Rather than being the actual Velvet Room it's more darker, with even more cells and some hanging from the celing by chains. They walk further in and see Joker sitting at a desk. Where Igor would normally be sitting. "Ah. You came... welcome to the Velvet Room. The thing you're looking for is in that cell there" He points at a cell, which is in the same place where Joker's actual Velvet Room cell. And it's the only non distorted cell too. "Now I think you all need to give me something. Meet me at Leblanc when you're ready to give it to me" Once your ready. The entire team meets up at Leblanc and this exchange goes down "So you actually came. Not that I didn't expect it. None of you seem like the 'giving up' type." Ann then says "We'll just give you this and we'll get going I guess" Ryuji then takes the card out of her hand and says "Wait a minute. I wanna ask him a few things. How could you go from being the leader of the biggest heroes of justice, to a killer who abandoned his friends?!" "Well after Okumara's pallace. I didn't see any reason to keep working together. I saw what you all thought of me. A backstabber working behind your back for my own personal gain." "But that's what you're doing right now man! Sneaking behind our backs killing people you don't like!" "So? Shido was going to completley take over the country if he won that election. I did Japan a favour in killing that man!" (Probably more but I'm too uncreative to think of anything) They hand him the calling card "To our former leader Ren Amamiya. You have been overcome by pride from your past actions as a Phantom Thief. You chose to go against our wishes in not performing any murders against any potential targets. As such we will take your distorted desires and revert you to your former self. From, The Phantom Thieves." "Well I suppose all things must come to an end" SECURITY LEVEL: 100% Once the PTs get to the treasure. They see that it's Joker's thief mask. "Well. You all made it. I reckon we all know what's going to happen now. But something I've been meaning to ask about. Akechi? How long has Robin Hood been your Persona?" The rest of the PTs look confused "Oh I've always had him. I just don't think I ever showed him to you before now..." "Well he seems useful. Are you gonna use him here?" "No actually. They're a bit used to him. I might use my other one..." Akechi slowly walks over to Joker "I thought you would've realised sooner. But me and Joker have been working together for some time now. Shido was just the beginning!" "Joker? You and Akechi have been killing anyone who gets in your way together?!" "After Okumara's incident, he approached me and made it clear that we had a mutual goal. Killing Shido and getting revenge. But I knew you all would try to stop me. So I had Akechi lure you in so I can take care of you all personally." "...This is effed up man..." Then the before battle cutscene starts "Well. Shall we show them what we can really do?" "Whenever you're ready" "Come... LOKI!" Loki appears and Akechi changes into his dark outfit "I summon thee... LUPIN" A distorted version of Arsene appears. In mostly black but with Sataneal's gun *Battle Starts*

*cue the palace violently shaking. Something was coming...and it was huge*

I have two ideas for a Palace. One of them kinda contradicts a detail established in-game (*MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD*), but bear with me here: 1. After making the deal with Yaldabaoth (Bad Ending), the Protagonist (not saying his canon name because I gave him a custom name in-game) becomes his servant, working as a Phantom Thief in the real world. However, because of this drastic self-made change of heart, he creates a Shadow, which takes on the form of Joker (Shadow Joker) and becomes Overseer of the Velvet Room, filling it with Shadows and splitting Lavenza back into Caroline and Justine, then brainwashing them. The other Phantom Thieves, who disappeared after the first confrontation with the Holy Grail, are revealed to be captive in the Velvet Room, since they were never freed by their leader. However, one day, someone comes and starts freeing the Phantom Thieves one by one. It is later revealed that this someone was Goro Akechi, who survived the events of Shido's cruiser and sought redemption by helping his former teammates. With Goro possessing the Wild Card ability, he acts as the Main Character (similar to Aigis in Persona 3: The Answer), guiding the Phantom Thieves through the Velvet Room (which would be the dungeon in which this song plays). Eventually, the PT (Phantom Thieves) are forced to fight Caroline and Justine, although they're not as powerful as usual because of the brainwashing. After they've been defeated, the PT reach Shadow Joker and try to bring him back to his senses. However, this fails, leading to a battle with Rivers in the Desert as the song. In the battle, instead of transforming like other Palace rulers, Shadow Joker uses his Persona, Arsene. Upon halving his health bar, Shadow Joker discards Arsene and calls forth his strongest Persona, Yoshitsune (at which point the song changes to Our Beginning). Despite Shadow Joker using Hassou Tobi every three turns (he uses Charge the turn before attacking), he is brought down to his knees. As Shadow Joker tries to get up, Akechi walks up to him, gun in hand, and says "I told you before, this is how your 'justice' ends", mockingly emphasizing "justice", referencing the events after Niijima's casino. However, before Goro can shoot him, Shadow Joker vanishes, leaving a book strongly reminiscent of the Persona Compendium behind. As Akechi picks it up, the Velvet Room begins to crumble (cue Life Will Change), forcing the PT to run away. After they leave, they're returned to the real world still wearing their Metaverse Outfits, where the Persona Compendium that Akechi got from Shadow Joker turns into the probation diary the protagonist had been writing the game's events in (AKA the diary where players save the game). As the PT get their bearings, they hear sounds of fighting above them; the Protagonist, as Joker, is fighting Yaldabaoth by himself in the sky. Decided to help, the PT, Akechi included, cheer Joker on. Moved by his friends' efforts to save him, Joker transforms his Persona Arsene into Satanael. Using the Sinful Shell, Joker fatally wounds Yaldabaoth; however, the latter uses an incredibly powerful laser attack that pierces Joker right through the heart. As a result, both Joker and Yaldabaoth die at the same time. In his last moments, Joker free-falls from the sky and takes one final look at the planet he helped save and, with his dying breath, thanks his friends and Confidants one by one for helping him on his journey. By the time he touches the ground, Joker is already dead and still wearing his Metaverse Outfit, which slowly dissolves from his body, revealing his real identity. As the PT see this, they notice that THEIR outfits are vanishing too, revealing their identities as well. Months later, by the time the Protagonist was supposed to return to his hometown, the PT's lives have drastically changed, as all of them have become globally famous; Ryuji turns himself into a celebrity, appearing on TV shows with the stage name of The Sensational Skull; Ann decides to pursue her dream career as a model-actress; Yusuke becomes a famous painter, far more famous than Madarame ever was, and publishes several art works, including the Sayuri, the latter being credited to his mother; Makoto studies to become a police commissioner, using her experience as a Phantom Thief to help her with her criminal psychology studies; Futaba publishes her mother's cognitive psience research, now completed thanks to her expeditions to the Metaverse, and then turns into a white hat freelance hacker under the name of Medjed, helping earnest companies protect their secrets from industrial espionage; Haru becomes the owner of Okumura Foods, enforcing a gentler approach towards employees; Akechi, moved by Joker's death, turns himself in to the authorities, confessing to the psychotic breakdowns and mental shutdowns, and is sent to juvenile hall; Sojiro, who was also there when Joker died, rebrands LeBlanc, renaming it to "The Wild Card", giving it a more Phantom Thief-esque vibe and using Morgana, who also survived here, as a mascot, although he leaves the attic intact and off limits. Later that year, on the Protagonist's birthday, everyone assembles at The Wild Card for a party, reminiscing their best moments with the Protagonist. However, they're unaware that someone is watching them from outside: the Protagonist, who survived his apparent death and is wearing his Joker attire. Fixing up his red gloves (like in his All-Out Attack Victory picture) and holding the World Arcana on one hand and his phone in the other, he declares "the game is not over yet" and walks into the shadows, the iconic Metaverse Navigator sound effect playing as he does this. 2. A few weeks after defeating Yaldabaoth and being sent to juvenile hall (True Ending), the Protagonist realizes that, even if he ever gets out, he will nonetheless lose his newfound friends, no matter what path he takes in his future. Overcome by this revelation, his despair is so strong that it creates a Palace, despite the Metaverse being presumably destroyed, with a Shadow Joker similar to Shadow Futaba, where he isn't actually evil. At the same time, Ryuji and Ann, who were out trying to find a way to get the Protagonist out of juvenile hall, notice the Metaverse Navigator popping up in their phones. They open it, however, and see that the Protagonist's name, location and distortion have already been written into it. After calling the other Phantom Thieves, they confirm that the same thing is happening to everyone. They decide to enter the Metaverse one last time and end up in an amalgam of every Palace in which they've been, finding Shadow Joker wearing an inmate outfit. Shadow Joker warns them to leave before "they" come, but the warning comes too late as the PT are assaulted by the Shadows of Kamoshida, Madarame, Kaneshiro, Okumura, Niijima and Shido all at once. Despite putting up a valiant effort, the PT are defeated and about to be killed. However, they are rescued by the timely intervention of Lavenza, who pulls the team into the Velvet Room, where Igor is waiting for them. Igor explains that the Protagonist's despair over losing his friends was so strong that it recreated the Metaverse itself just to create a single Palace that encompasses most of it. Explaining that the only thing that possesses the power to truly save a Wild Card is another Wild Card, Igor has Lavenza bring over the Velvet Room's latest addition: Goro Akechi, who was saved by Yaldabaoth from dying in Shido's Cruiser and sentenced to be locked in the Velvet Room forever; however, after Yaldabaoth's defeat, Igor offered Akechi a job as a Velvet Room assistant. Now, Akechi offers his help to the Phantom Thieves, but the overall reaction is negative. Lavenza steps in, claiming that if the Protagonist was able to forgive Akechi, they should be too. Hearing this, the PT reluctantly accept Akechi back into the team. After this, with Shadow Joker's assistance, the PT manage to defeat their old enemies. However, after a deep conversation, Shadow Joker reveals that he doesn't want his friends to leave him and, in a fit of rage after learning why the PT entered his Palace, summons Yaldabaoth as his Persona. Despite fighting with all of his strength, Shadow Joker falls. Collapsing to the ground, Shadow Joker bursts into tears and asks the PT to remain at his side, no matter what, before disappearing. After the Palace collapses, the team ends up in the Velvet Room, but with no Treasure. Igor explains that Joker's real Treasure was the reassurance that his friends would be there for him, no matter what. After bidding farewell to Akechi, who now wears a Velvet Room assistant uniform, the PT return to the real world. During the following days, using information of the Protagonist's pre-PT life that they learned in the Palace, the PT find the Protagonist's hometown, locate the woman he saved from Shido and get her to testify in court about what really happened. From here on out, everything plays like in the True Ending. What do you guys think? Let me know if you have any feedback or opinions!

Hero PFC Thanks! To be honest, I think that, in most games, silent protagonists are given little to no character evolution in order to make the player feel like they're actually in the game as themselves, so that they don't have to watch themselves do something they believe wouldn't normally do. However, I believe even silent protagonists deserve character growth, even if its only noticed through their friends' eyes. That's why I put so much emphasis on the Protagonist's reactions during and after the Palace is completed. In the first ending, after his heart is changed, the Protagonist realizes that he made a mistake joining Yaldabaoth and tries to make amends, at the cost of his life; in the second ending, the Protagonist is desperate to stay with his friends and will fight anyone for that, as noted by his Shadow. In both cases, the Protagonist shows character evolution that can only be noticed when seeing it through the eyes of someone who's not the Protagonist. I sincerely hope Persona 6 gives the main character some space to evolve. I mean, P3's protagonist had a deep, secret connection to the game's overall plot that intertwined with his past, and P4's protagonist had his family, whom he cared for deeply because he was always moving from one place to another and knew he couldn't be with them for long. However, absolutely nothing is known about the P5 protagonist. Sure, we know he saves a woman and goes to jail for it (even though I know exactly why he got sent to jail for that, I'm just going to say, bravo, Japanese justice system), we know nothing about his overall life. What kind of person was he before P5? Was he trying to save the woman just to show off or because he actually cared? Was he arrogant and misbehaving, or was he a nice person? Knowing those details, as well as how they come to light, are what makes for good character evolution.

Hero PFC Hopefully Persona 6's protagonist will be more spiced up. I personally wouldn't mind seeing a Telltale Games-like protagonist (the protagonist is fully voiced, but you choose what he/she says and does) in the next game.

MAN, Now I want An alternate universe version of Persona 5 where Joker becomes corrupted. I feel like he has a ton of potential for palaces and symbolism

I feel the area of distortion would be probably all of Tokyo because the only reason he would be there would be because of his arrest. Random Panda said his probation papers would probably be his treasure and I agree. However I'd say the room where it's in would be lined with gifts from his friends and confidants and also pictures of all of the good times they had together. A treasure room of sorts where everything he treasures is inside that room even the thing that brought him into Tokyo. Edit: Another idea I had pop up was his boss battle. I'd say it would be multi phases like shido and play out like the battle with the twins. In the 1st phase he uses his Personas however they appear mangled and distorted. He'd summon a different one each time his health got to a certain point. Also each one would be of the ultimate Personas you gain from the confidants. That last Persona being Arsene however again appears mangled and distorted. After defeating him there he monologues for a bit and then he turns into his true form. This form would be him but with most of the features of Sataneal. Above his head, instead of it being the ring from before, it's a ring of tarot cards each one representing each member of the phantom thieves and that right there would be the start of the 2nd phase. His attacks would be consist of riot gun and the ultimate attacks of all of the thieves. When he's using one of their moves their tarot shatters as he uses their attack. Once the attack is over it reappears above his head again. His ultimate move would be Morning Star but instead of it being blue it looks corrupted and appears in black and red.

I feel like jokers palace would be a theater. Since he can hold many persona's it would be natural he can shift his act to fit many roles. The PT would first find out when Akira suddenly goes missing. After a few days of his disappearance, Morgana suggests they use the navigator. At first, they don't believe it. But after they see the palace they have no choice to believe it. The theater itself would be filled with fake pathways and traps. The entire theater is a museum that doesn't seem to have an end. The PT fight persona's that Joker obtained throughout the journey even if he executed them to create a stronger persona. The first floor contains a stage which Shadow joker acts on. Shadow Joker constantly changing his mask to fill a different role because he's forced his real identity away. There will only be five floors. But each floor containing two shadow phantom thieves. The first-floor containing Akechi and Haru. Second, with Futaba and Makoto. Third, having Yusuke and Ann. Fourth, containing Ryuji and Morgana. The final floor contains none other than the joker himself. The real joker has been in this palace the entire time. Refusing to let go of whatever he's got stored away. Because of that, we get not nine bosses. But ten. Nine being shadows of the phantom thieves (The shadows being Jokers memories of them, including himself). The last one being Joker himself in his physical form. Real Joker will take place before Shadow Joker. The Shadow Joker fight will have both Real and Shadow against *every* PT member. So you control all of them in this fight. To get access to the final floor, you'd need to send the calling card directly to the palace. Which would alarm Joker and Shadow Joker increasing the security to 99% (as usual) I'm not sure about how the time limit would work. Maybe the palace has been falling apart from the beginning and they only have 18 days to find and rescue joker? Joker's shadow would eventually become a jack-in-the-box that can send out persona's. However, Arsene would be the last persona you face and would likely be the hardest. Then after Arsene, Real Joker and Shadow Joker fight you. Hell for a bonus you could be controlling real joker (but you can't use items or guard, nor could you use the order or baton pass as Joker which would FORCE you to fight the PT.) along with the other PT (with all options in battle) in a sort of side-switching moment. During the entire fight Joker (real) would be trying to convince the PT to give up and leave him be in the palace. The PT obviously not giving in to try and save their leader (and friend). Joker's distorted desire would be his mask in the palace, but be his glasses in reality. Because it's the only thing that separates his real self from joker's fake personality. The personality we, the player, play in the game. Yeah, I'm doing that. Joker's masks in my eyes represent us, what we want joker to be. But by freeing Joker, we're no longer able to choose the decisions for him. His true self has to make them on his own.

I imagine Joker's Shadow would just look like him in his Phantom outfit, but his face is completely blacked out except for a pair of yellow demonic looking eyes with his mask as eye sockets, and his face would change into that of his confidants (except for the Fool, which would just be blank face) depending on what Persona he summons. I thought of this when I heard that Joker's character is based on The Fiend With Twenty Faces (a gentleman thief who is Kogoro Akechi's archenemy).

The time limit could be that by staying in the metaverse long periods of time, Joker's mind slowly corrupts. Once is totally corrupted, he's not able to come back from the metaverse anymore and is trapped for eternity in his heart, leaving him in a coma in the real world. The Phantom Thieves learn about this from the shadows (that i like to think that they're like backstage staff) and try to save him before that happens.

personally, i think joker’s boss would be insanely difficult- he’d take on several forms, as shido did, each one more powerful than the last. i’d think that he’d summon past bosses, with his final form being himself. since he is indeed a wild card, he’d resist pretty much every attack, magic and physical, using his own personas to help with this resistance. he likely would get 2 to 3 moves per turn, possibly interrupting/canceling some actions of team members, just to make his boss unfair (this is like ann’s sexy technique). his defense would go down occasionally, along with his attack to make him a bit of an easier hit. he can check affinities every once in a while for each PT member.

i imagine rise battle from p4, him knowing what spells and what atributes who has and being borderline imune to them while easily downing others but being alone he cant all out attack and thus the battle continues with him longing for their company

I am working with Yaldabaoth for a World without the destruction that the human desires have caused, a peaceful World, that was the objective of the Phantom Thieves all along, and you're all betraying me now?! Enough! if i have to destroy all of you to achieve my objective, i will not hesitate!

Okay Palace design and it includes all other palace themes made by Ode. Backstory idea: Joker gets depressed that it’s all going to be over, depressed that he will have to go back to his parents leaving his best friends behind. The thieves catch on that Joker isn’t himself and out of curiosity they search Joker in the Metanav. Note: This palace is after Yaldaboath was killed, Oh and Joker is with the Thieves. Okay so the palace will be a tower (probably representing the memories that Joker has made with his friends), the prison will have multiple floors, one floor for each confidant, and that one floor will have the wonderful theme that Ode made corresponding with the character. The floors will be designed to match the characters personality, but all floors whose character is a confidant will have their Tarot card as a mural somewhere on the floor, like near the entrance or in the boss fight room. The first 8 floors are for the team members, the floors aren’t Joker’s cognitions of his friends and confidants it’s just their emotions and personalities going wild.(like in p4) 1. Ryuji 2. Morgana 3. Ann 4. Yusuke 5. Makoto 6. Futaba 7. Haru 8. and finally Akechi Next floors with be the confidants (except for Igor and warden twins) and it will be randomised. Note: All confidant bosses is of the same difficulty to avoid getting destroyed because you got the hardest boss first. Next is the non confidant floors which is only SIU, Shiho, principal and Sugimura, but they’ll be spread out randomly throughout the Tower. And finally is the last two floors, the second last floor is the Velvet room where you will fight an easy version of the Warden twin boss fight, which will then lead to the Igor boss fight. The final floor is Café Leblanc, it looks identical to the one in the real world. Shadow Joker is in his room which has every gift Joker has received from the Confidants. There’s a lot of dialogue and Shadow Joker has the ultimate personas of all the thieves arcana with the addition of Sataneal . And the interesting thing about this one boss fight is that the party limit is no longer four, everyone member of the thieves has an all out final battle against shadow Joker. One long painful boss fight later, shadow Joker is defeated but there’s no treasure. Ryuji: “What there is no treasure!!” Shadow Joker and real Joker (simultaneously): “But there is, it’s right in front of me, you guys are my Treasure, my everything” super cliche but it makes sense for Jokers character and his relationship with the team. Shadow Joker: “When you guys leave the palace it will disappear” That’s it, that’s my idea, that I struggled for about a hour to put into words. (I can just imagine Arsene then grabs the thieves throwing off their masks so they can't summon their persona's and putting them in a secret fluffy comfortable pillowy room where he acts like a mother hen and is like 'Mine.' "MY TREASURES!" And they would be so confused until they realise Arsene considers them treasures.)

I love reading all the ideas for what joker’s palace would be like if he had one. Everyone is so creative!

What if morgana had never came back and joker became desperate to find a way to bring him back? That his desire to bring him back became too strong that he ended up creating a palace. The treasure may be morganas scarf. Afterall the one who followed you throughout the entire game is morgana, from start to end. And morgana saved the PT quite a few times after all.the palace consist of many different areas, each representing someone from the PT, and the treasure room is morganas. Throughout the palace there would be very little shadows, but you’ll fight him many times. Catch is that depending on whose room ur in, the person will have a weakness towards him. He will intentionally miss during the encounters as he does not want to lose them like morgana either. in the final room, joker goes full out and will do everything to stop the PT from ‘stealing’ his only memory of morgana. PT will try to stop joker from his plan to get morgana back. Perhaps due to some consequence? He will give up once the PT convinces him that morgana could not return and that morgana would not be happy if bringing him back would cause something to happen to the world. Idk i just like to think what would happen if morgana had never come back.

This song is so good it even gave me inspiration for Akira's palace! UwU Akira is still teenager and all, he still feels emotions. So since he's the leader, he feels that he must be strong all the time. During Sae's palace, he's getting more and more scared since he knows he might die in real life, slowing down the mission as much as he can. I'd think his palace is a theater, with a phantom of the opera feels kinda. The actors have strings connected to them as they replay the phantom thieves story, over and over. Or something like that-

Here's this how bout all the shadows be replaced with students since all the students make fun of him at and how they might attend it so that the crew can not enter the place but I think the treasure might be in there but it would be fake and dig deeper down the theater as in the stages and the studio so you can go find the real treasure the treasure.......what will it be? A tarot card or his mask that he wears I think his mask so that it shows how he's feeling asking himself "why must we hide our faces? Is it from guilt about how we shouldn't of become phantom thevies?"

i’d like to think that joker has been putting on so many masks for other people (friends, classmates, teachers, and confidants) that he no longer has a true self. he becomes a mirror reflecting whatever anyone needs of him to be, with no way to act on his own wants. what is there beneath all those masks? nothing but an abyss. i watched a p4 new days playthrough a couple hours ago if that wasnt obvious enough lol

Big klingy?

I always considered Joker a villainous character for most of the game and changed to a hero towards the end of the game, here are my reasons. 1. He never actually had a choice in doing the palaces because every time he went into one to steal a treasure it was because the owner of the palace was trying to catch the phantom thieves, which would have either gotten him kicked out of Leblanc or arrested. So it was out of necessity rather than any good intentions. 2. I always considered him ungenuine towards all of his friends because: A. he only sought out new friends because Igor said it would give him more power (Which it did) or those people would stumble into the Phantom Thieves due to an accident or something. B. Joker (when I played him) would romance all of the female characters so that they would gain an increase in power which would help him complete his goals (they jump in the way of attacks that would kill him and they gain other powers by levelling up their connection to Joker). There is no consequence for having more than 1 romantic partner in the game so of course Joker would go for more. More confidants mean more power for him. C. Whenever Joker would have a persona that is the same as one of his confidants, the connection between the characters grows stronger, quicker, so it seemed to me that the only hung out with the phantom thieves because it increased the powers they had which ultimately gave him more resources to work with. From my perspective Joker's personality changes depending on what persona's he has, this is because a persona is how you portray yourself around others or how they perceive you. Joker acts differently around people individually and acts kinda bland around the whole group so that they don't really pick up on it. 3. Whenever Joker would do missions in Mementos it would gain popularity for the Phantom thieves which helped them gain credibility and influence over the masses so that when they take down a palace target it would show that they are Just. Of course Joker would want people to believe that he is Just, fewer people would be after him, his position in Leblanc would be more secure. To be honest, this is just my headcanon for the character to make him seem more interesting to me personally, and I believe that towards the end of the game Joker became more of a good guy who fights for justice as his battle with Aketchi really showed him the value of having friends. I'd love to know what you all think about this.

I wouldn't call him a villain, but an anti-hero. Even if he does act for personal interest it's not bad enough to call his actions evil.

Here's my idea for his palace, shadow Akira doesn't want to lose everything he's worked for and wants to keep his friends so his location would be what he considered home Leblanc and his palace would be a paradise where everyone is happy and he is convincing himself that if he can take down those who are after him he will be free that your time limit his shadow is Making him lose sainty I can see the paradise being less beautiful the closer you get to his treasure his probation papers what got him into this situation, and once they get there he starts begging for them not to interfere with his plans to keep them together , while Morgana trys to get some sense into him , he gets desperate and uses force which begins his boss battle, catch is you do horribly low damage but as the battle gos on he starts doing less damage and eventually questions himself and let's his guard down and that's how you beat him and convince him everything will be ok and there is no need for drastic measures

The fact that joker could actually have a palace in p5s makes this song even more amazing

It takes a turn to save its like a charge move like shido and when he save he can go back once over and over so after a while morgana is like "we should send someone to destroy that diary" and boom a special mechanic for Ren or Akira.

If Altus actually made a DLC for this, that would be freaking cool.

My theory on this Palace is that it existed BEFORE Akira/Ren went to Tokyo, which is why in Royal, it is left as the empty Thieves Den, due to the palace lacking Arséne's influence. It had been created the moment Akira/Ren was told, by his parents themselves, that they wish for him to leave to Tokyo because of a crime they both know he didn't commit. But, this also ties in to the fact that Akira/Ren's version of the Velvet Room is a prison cell, and why he feels the need to travel home. Because his Palace no longer had Arséne to influence it's shape and form, it was left open for grabs, due to the still forming Treasure never being taken. Why is this important? His parents are the reason why. See, they sent Ren away because they had been pressured by everyone around them to send their son away because "he's a Criminal" or "he messed with HIM (Shido)". The Kurusu/Amamiya family, Akira/Ren literally the only exception, has been known to be the family that follows along with whatever those around them would desire or do because they wanted the affection of all of those around them. Akira/Ren was the only one in the family to truly accept the fact that all of them were just slaves of fate to him, and was genuinely shocked when he himself became one because his father sent him out asap, his desire to gain the affection of all those in his town growing distorted to the point of madness whenever someone would badmouth him, Akira/Ren's mother included. While his mother had HER desires to string everyone along as her "chess pieces" became distorted to the point that she lied to the friend Sojiro mentions at the beginning of the game that Akira/Ren is desperately in need of a home simply to remove the defiant boy from the picture. The events of Persona 5/P5R happen. Akira/Ren kept silent about the true reason why he desired to return home from his friends because he didn't want to worry them, and he felt that he himself was at fault for allowing his desire for freedom from the public's opinion became distorted enough for a Palace to begin forming, which allowed his own parent's Shadows to do the rest. His parent's Palace are separated into two, the location for both being Akira/Ren's home, while the distortion for his father is a "Prison" while his mother's is a "Chess Board". While the keyword for both is "Mask".

Sense everyone else is doing it.... Subject: Akira Ren Location: Velvet Room Distortion: Pantheon *Palace* The Palace location is inside Akira's Heart, between Mind and Matter. The Shape of the Palace is an Acropolis at the knees of a Giant Arsen. Arsen has grown to enormous size, and he as been bound by chains while bares the weight of the world on his shoulders. The Acropolis is seven temples formed in a circle with the largest one set in the center of the circle. The Largest one is a Tower that goes to just beneath Arsens chest, however the Spire is covered in chains. Each of these chains is anchored to one of the six temples, each of the six temples is dedicated to a member of the Phantom Thieves, and each of the temples is guarded by the respective Phantom Thieves Shadow. The Acropolis is currently under siege by shadows, all trying to climb the center tower, and destroy Arsen/Akira, and cause the world to fall. *Phantom Thief Shadows* Morgana is the only one who doesn't have a Temple, as Shadow Morgana Guards the Entrance to the Acropolis, and has been waiting for the other Real Phantom Thieves to show up and fix this mess. Shadow Morgana is not a cat, but a human, Shadow Morgana's appearance is what you would expect Akiras' little brother to look like. Each of the other Phantom Thief Shadows are a perfect reflection of the original. Last note of Phantom Thief Shadows, the Phantom Thieves love interest has escaped their temple and is fighting off hordes of Shadows at the Entrance of the center temple. *Non-Phantom Thief Shadow* The non-Phantom Thieves are inside the spire guarding the inner walls however they can, they are not fighters (with the exception of the gun owner who is sporting a mini-gun) but they will fight to defend Akira. *Spire* The inside of the Spire is depicts the life of Akira, depicting {Insert HeadCanon Here}. However despite the fact that the shadows were not able to break through, there are signs of battle, something has fought it's way through to the top of the tower. The Battle seems to have originated from the basement, inside the basement are the shadows of Shiho and Haru's Father. The basement is a never ending corridor, where no matter how hard or fast you run, you will never be able to reach Shiho or Haru's Father. Despite this, it looks like something busted out of the basement. *Chains of Atlus* {Final Boss} At the top of the tower is Akira he is bound in chains, and holds a vacant expression on his face. Standing with Akira is Akechi, who you would need to beat to free Akira.

This is my interpretation of Joker's palace : how the palace would be born : After a argue with the Phantom Thieves that ended badly along with his close ones going against him, Joker became very distant of his friends and even dissapear at one point. One of the Phantom Thieves then received a note saying that a new palace is detected, shocking them all. Lavenza would then appear to them and told them that someone alone is responsible for creating a palace as massive and powerful as Mementos itself, and that she could fell Yaldabaoth, even if she also say he's dead. How they would discover the palace : After an eternity of unsuccessful researches for both the palace and Joker, the group headed back to Leblanc to rest, until Ryuji accidentally discover the entrance of the palace in Joker's room and the Metaverse-nav reacted. That's when they discover the horrible truth : Joker IS the one who created the palace. With determination, the phantom thieves jump into the palace to save Joker and why he created the palace. what the palace would be : A mementos-like zone where each level is actually one of the palaces you have completed in the exact order (Kamoshida --> Madarame --> Kaneshiro --> Futabe (maybe) --> Okumura --> Sae --> Shido). To go deeper, you have to fight phantom versions of the shadow bosses after travelling throught copies of their palaces (In Shido's palace copy, you have to fight phase 2 Akechi and Shadow Shido at the same time). The final level would be either a prison or a theater due to Joker's connection with both. Once travelling enough, the Phantom Thieves would send the calling card and prepare fot their greatest and hardest battle of their lives. What the palace ruler would be : The Palace ruler would be a Joker dressed as the Devil that suffered so much he lose his own mental stability, enter a deep depresion lose and faith toward humanity and his friends. He blammed society for his condition and decided to use the metaverse to resurect Yaldabaoth so that he could join forces with him (like in the bad endeing) and let him control humanity and no one would have to suffer his pain again. When the phantom thieves tired to resonate him, they discover that nothing would make Joker's desition change. What the boss would be : Joker transform into his Phantom Thieves costume but it's more devilish and with chain on it. The boss theme would be melancholic and the song and his lyrics would be about lossing faith in all yet trying to end the pain of all, even if it means doing the greatest sacrifices between his humanity and friends. At first, the boss wouldn't be damaged a lot and the phantom thieves would be lossing. But that's when the real Akechi, who survived his final battle in Shido's palace, would save the phantom thieves and then decided to help them get Joker back. When Joker is defeated in his first phase, the phantom thieves would try to get him back but after some bad choises of words, Joker finally succumb to his madness and he decided to fuse with Arsene and his palace and together, as clouds of darkness would fall all over the world. Satanael would decend on the phantom thieves and Akechi like he did with Yaldabaoth and thus begin the 2nd phase of Joker boss battle with the background Sanatael awakening. Satanael battle would be like Yaldaboth boss battle (for the final part and mechanics) but with devilish attacks instead of godly ones, higher stats and Satanael would attack 2 times in a turn (just like Nyx's avatar boss fight in Persona 3). During the battle, the boss would say how his life was a curse as he change his power to one of the deadly sins and attacks that can deal status effects and do more damage to the phantom thieves associated with the deadly sin. The final deadly sin would be all of them and Satanael would enter the final part of his battle with a lot of life and attacks, just like Persona 3's final boss. Once Satanael life reach 0, the boss would look like he's knocked out but he would then took out his gun and fire the Sinful bullet, the attack he used to kill Yaldabaoth against the phantom thieves, almost killing them all. Lavenza and Igor would interfere as Igor told them that the true reason Joker's palace was born was because Joker slowly loses faith as he changes peoples hearts and that his argue with the phantom thieves was the fatal blow. However, Igor also say that this bond can be recreated if they truly undersand Joker's pain yet show his that his life wasn't bad, that there was still good in it. Once they do, their true power awoke and Lavenza join them, with her Personas, to neutralized Satanael, thus beginning the 3rd phase of the boss. It's basically like the last part of the 2nd phase but with Lavenza with us and a easier difficulty. Once done, an injury was seen in Satanael's head and Akechi throw himself inside of it and reach Joker, who's in his normal phantom thieves clothes, determined to save him from a fate he might regret forever. The final phase of the battle would be like a duel between Akechi and Joker but we control Akechi instead of Joker this time. How the aftermath would be : After defeating Joker, Akechi help him go back to his friends as Satanael was dissapearing and collapsing. Joker then apologies for his actions and wish he would never be here but his friends told him that he wasn't here, non of them would be here. Joker would then give them his treasure : a phantom thieves calling card as they took both the treasure and Joker outside of the palace. Once out, they look at the treasure to see it's actually a picture of all the phantom thieves, Akechi included. Thus end Joker's palace. What are your thoughts on my version of Joker's palace ? I based it on the normal Persona 5.

This is pretty good. The reason why the protagonist would gain a Palace is great, the three phase battle is brilliant and the aftermath ends on a happy note. Kudos.

Let’s say his palace is that of a Theatre,and his shadow self would basically be the leading performer/showman in this theatre. I’d imagine the boss fight against Shadow Joker would be transformed in stages as you take down further his health. He would also have multiple Boss/Target Names as he transforms. To obtain major advantage,one person have to be sent from the team to sneak and steal his mask,while the rest of the team needs to distract him by attacking. The Great Pretender(Start) His Shadow self dons a suit and a masquerade mask. At first he summons random personas and targets the team for their weaknesses,as he knows every single one of them. The Jester of Misfortune(first quarter half done) He dons Jester attire,and comes out of a Jack-in-a Box. His mask is a crying tear theatre mask,or a mask similar to the P2 Joker. His attacks would be all physical with high chance of hitting Critical(Lucky Punch,etc) The Prisoner of Fate(halfway) He transforms,in a prisoner’s costume,similar to the one he wears in the Velvet Room,he summons and only attacks with a distorted version of Arsène. He has the curse skill abilities,including Mudoon and Mamudo. He is seen wearing his normal Joker mask,but the colors are inverted. Protagonist’s name(Final bit of Health) He’s in his normal high school uniform. His mask is his glasses. The final blow would be to rip the very first mask he wore when his criminal record and probation began. Reveal his true form,simply (Protagonist’s Name),to which he lets out a gut-wrenching scream,akin to when he first awakens and summoned Arsene,as the HP bar cracks and falls to 0.

Sorry for length, got really into it and couldn't stop. I see Joker's Palace as something like the Batcave, a lair with multiple floors where each uses a better version of puzzles previous Palaces had, showing that as a both as a Phantom Thief and a Palace ruler he's the greatest of all. It being his hideout would also link to how he feels best when he's with the others at whatever their hideout may be. The exterior of the Palace would be LeBlanc but a tower as that's where Joker did the most hiding and outside it would be a Tokyo praising him and the Phantom Thieves for their efforts as well as their reform, similar to the ending where he accepts Yaldabaoth's deal. Within the palace there would be all the treasures from previous Palaces, Mementos and all the items his confidants gave him for his room, hung up all over the place. As the Thieves make their way through the Palace they'd see videos of some of Joker's most treasured memories as well as see his desire to keep their adventures going. For them and the audience it'd hit so close because no-one wants their journey come to a close. Occasionally Shadow Joker would be on screen reminiscing with the others about key moments in their confidants; for Ryuji them sharing a beef bowl at the end of it, for Yusuke the unveiling of his painting, for whoever his romance option is when they first got together, for Morgana the two promising to be by the other's side. Shadow Joker would act very eccentric and with a sense of grandeur, for him the world is a stage and he's the star, his actions are constantly talked about on the TVs all around the Palace all the news is about him and who he's brought to justice most recently. The final section of the Palace would see the Thieves go past all his confidants and people he's helped for them to beg them not to stop Shadow Joker, he's helped so many already and he can keep doing so if they just let him. The boss fight itself would take place in a version of his room at the top of the tower his lair is based in with all the items given to him by the cast as his going away present. He'd ask the Thieves to join him one last time as he genuinely doesn't want to fight his friends. They'd reject his offer at which point the walls of the room would fall giving way to a stage similar to Yaldaboath's with cameras displaying the fight for all to see. He adjusts his glove and with a "Showtime" the boss battle begins. During it, he uses stronger versions of the team's Persona with stronger attacks and resistances, after all he's a wild card user, anything they can do he can do better. The only Persona he can't use is Arsene, his true self. After a lengthy and brutal battle, during which he would keep talking about how the world needs him to keep going, how he needs to keep going, how without being a Phantom Thief he'd go back to being a powerless victim who can't even protect himself. After all that, Shadow Joker loses, the citizens all boo and disavow him, reminding them all of what happened after Okumura's Palace. After being talked down by the team and even Arsene who would communicate with him like he does to the real Joker, Shadow Joker would take off and give them his treasure, his Phantom Thief mask.

Joker after reading calling card: Joker: ngh Shadow Joker: So its treason then?

I feel like Joker’s palace would be similar to a twisted version of the velvet room jail, being how his entire deal is being falsely labeled a criminal by society. His boss form would be a mangled Arscene bound in ball and chains.

In regard to the lyrics of this song and a fic I have read recently (as of typing this), I came up with an idea for Akira’s Palace. Keywords: Akira Kurusu, Leblanc, Void The distortion (Void) comes from how I perceive Akira’s mannerisms in the game. He always let others lean on him, vent to him, but he never once told anyone how he truly felt. In other words, he sees himself as a man filled with void, to take in and never let out. The second reason for Void being a keyword may be a bit of a stretch (and based off of something that *is not Persona whatsoever* ), But it has to do with the quote from the Pale King of the game Hollow Knight (where the Void idea draws inspiration from). In the game, the Pale King says: “No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.” That is exactly how Akira could feel from dealing with everyone’s problems, locking away his own. He could feel trapped, but cannot scream to save himself. In other words, he sees himself as a Vessel for the world’s issues. Palace: Prison Of The Trickster The reason it is called a “prison” is more of the loose sense and not a jail. The entire palace is one place, the only way to progress is to slowly remove the locks on the Treasure Room door. Shadow and Boss Battle: VS Hollow Vessel Once the treasure room is accessible, the Palace ruler will show them self. Their appearance is similar to Akira’s Metaverse gear, but with an alteration to the mask that makes it look like he is wearing a smashed helmet, and the gloves being jet black to signify the void. The Shadow will attempt to convince the PT that he doesn’t need to be saved and is fine with being a prisoner of fate, but of course, the PT object with their motive to save him. The Shadow would vanish, and the doors to the treasure room would open. (The treasure room resembles the Sealed Vessel’s Chamber from Hollow Knight as well.) When the PT attempt to steal the treasure, the Shadow would appear and plea to them not to follow through with the heist, but accidentally leaves the implication that he *will* snap under the pressure he has been forced under for so long. After the PT insist that they save him, the Shadow would transform and the battle would begin. The monster form of the Palace ruler retains the look of its previous form, but cracks are visible throughout the helmet and portions of clothing have been torn away to reveal what would appear to be wounds and what would resemble black liquid (Void) would seep through said wounds. After the PT reduce the Palace ruler to half health, he would begin to attack himself in a desperate attempt to aid the PT, as he slowly starts to realize that they only want to save him from the Palace’s unending darkness.
