    As someone who grew up with metal, I 100% recommend learning to play fingerstyle, not only that but 2 finger tapping and open tunings, never feel like you can't step out of that one genre of music and experiment, trying out new things will help you improve on thing you may have not known you needed and overall your playing and production/song writing will also improve :)

    oh noo :0 I've definitely gained stretchier hand powers over time (for real, guitarists fretting hands eventually can spread wider out than their picking hands), so hopefully yours still have room to grow :v And yea the key change was tricky, definitely involved some weird chord shenanigans but it was a fun challenge to try to make it work

    thank uu ~ the chair was a gift actually but I just looked it up and it's apparantly "Staples Torrent Bonded Leather Managers Chair" the raised arms are Crucial for guitar playing and it is confirmed comfy, the one thing I wish was was different was that the back moved independent of the base, like you can lounge back but it's all fixed so it's like a rotating L shape

    hmm off the top of my head I think it's something like this: (intro is Bm9 for a while with a B7 at the end) Em7 F#m7 Em7 F#m7 Bm7 Em7 F#m7 B7 Em7 F#m7 Bm7 Em7 F#m7 Em7 F#m7 Em7 F#m7 Em7/G# F#m7/A A/A# Am7 Gm6 Fmaj7 (x2) Am7 Gm6 Fmaj7 Em7 Fmaj7 Em7 Am11 Am7 Gm6 Fmaj7 Em7 Fmaj7 Em7 (do it all again but add a Ddim/F) then ends on a riff in Am

    Anyone know how he got the light note on 00:20? In the tabs it's the e string 17th fret (I think. The thing is that it's in a parenthesis with a plus sign), but his hands are nowhere near that fret

  • @fretzl

    @fretzl

    3 жыл бұрын

    ah, that's a "harp harmonic", the picking hand is actually the hand that touches the 17th fret, not the fretting hand. it's probably best to search for a harp harmonic tutorial video so you can see it explained visually, but i'm fretting the 3rd fret and hitting the harmonic 12 frets up at the 17th fret

    The playing is fantastic and I think you've done as a good a job as possible transcribing Heartbeat, Heartbreak. Signs of love isn't really recognisable, though. I think of all the great soundtrack JRPGs to transcribe to solo guitar, Persona is the most thankless task, because it is so groove based. Most of its tracks rely on the relationship between the bass and the drums to do the work. with melody generally a secondary consideration and mostly used to contribute to the "colour" rather than defining the song.

    How do you stretch you pinky like that? Maybe it's because my pinkies are naturally crooked.

  • @fretzl

    @fretzl

    3 жыл бұрын

    hah honestly literally from stretching it regularly over years of playing. it literally gets the ability to stretch further the more you play, and if i clap my hands together and spread my fingers out then I can clearly see that my fretting hand can spread them decently wider than the other
