I noticed that other than usual generic voiceline like "leave it to me" or "I'm next" etc, they also made unique voiceline for every character. You sometimes hear Yukari say Junpei's name in her shift to him. I thought originally it's just gonna be for when characters shift to Makoto

I like that they made baton passing not boost damage by the looks of it because I really like BPing as a mechanic but it was a little overpowered in P5 imo and kind of invalidated normal 1mores

They probably saw the complaints of fans that hated the stat boosts everytime you do a baton pass, which makes the game easier and less challenging because of it lolz 😆

Unfortunately I think the boost is still there. You can see that everytime they pass their turn there's a "boost effect" visual. Also the MC hits 100 after 2 passes, that was the highest dmg from the entire video, before he was hitting around 80 from hitting weak spots.

Kinda want them to do a cognitive boss battle against Joker and his founding teammates just so we can have both styles of Baton Passing in this game. I'd imagine that, if this was a thing for both P4 and 5 teams, the Investigation Team would also Shift.

If the Investigation team do the shift mechanic i would imagine they would make it more goofy or energetic/chaotic considering the investigation team is more lively than the phantom thieves and SEES, that and to separate SEES shift and Investigation team shift

Considering Junpei doesn't have a social link with male MC (unless that gets changed for the remake), it wasn't really an option to get baton pass on social link start.

@@charleswillhite5375 Good point, I forgot for a moment you don't have a Social Link with Junpei or Akihiko. Which unfortunately is still the case in Reload, but they have added some little bonding moments to try and make up for it.

Late to the party on this comment, but yeah, I definitely don't hate it. Even if the option to switch to the old soundtrack was there, I'd stick with the new soundtrack. Listening outside the game, I'd probably go with the original, just because its the version I prefer. New one still slaps tho

Dear god the new mass destruccion is shit, i will search a mod asp so i can put the original.

Honestly I know lots of people say that the Baton Pass thing was busted and that they are glad it's not as powerful here. Honestly I loved all the effects from Baton Pass, and it shouldn't really matter if it was busted or not. It's not like you could use it against boss fights, which is very good. I do kinda wish we at least had a medium amount of attack boost.

Madarame, Kaneshiro, Okumura, Maruki, practicaly every mini boss. It's not like any of them are hard, but being able to pass your turn It's a prety OP mechanic already, the boost is taking it too far.

One might ask if it's just for symbolism, but when you look at it logically a gun fits the needs. The device needed to evoke a persona needs to A. Be capable of being carried (wearable device could get damaged) B. Needs an easy to grip shape and handle (A wand like shape could work but is debatable if it's better) C. Can be holstered for easy access. D. The effects of the device is produced from a point on the device pointing at the head. So you see the shape of a gun is already well known and fits the requirements.

My guess is that the backgrounds were made with Tartarus in mind which has waaaaaay bigger landscapes and space, but when the devs adapted it to the train sequence they had to stretch it the fuck out to work (it does look silly though)

Honestly, it feels more unique and almost more professional by having the characters call out to their teammates to step in. It also focuses on more unique and expressive animations for the characters than the previous iteration with P5's Baton Pass and isn't P3R meant to be different from P5 while still benefitting from the gameplay and graphical enhancements from that game?
