Ken was always good in the original, he was literally the most versatile party member in the game. He had party wide healing and revives, electric skills, Light instant-kills, Spear master, and Vile assault for downed enemies. Give him accessories for amp skills and his damage was extremely competitive with other characters. Koromaru did suck though and still does in the remake, just more viable.

They did kinda mention it (once) in FES I remember there's a dialogue of Mitsur commenting that the mc ability to change Persona mid fight is extraordinary, but that's literally the end of it

Fun fact: if their first battle is in a monad door, this cutscene will not trigger. I discovered this in my first use of ken. Then i left, and my next battle with him it triggered😊

They are quite similar in using their evoker, as they point it usually in their forehead, and using two hands. Not to mention both have brown hair XD

It's more like reminding them of death in order to bring out strong emotion. This is why most of the SEES steel themselves before using it. They accept death, but is still scared of it

No, it’s just to bring out fear of death. The Evoker does seem to have a slight blow-back effect (probably from the recoil of the gun against the character’s head) but it doesn’t hurt outside of that

Kinda feel like these got nerfed in terms of personality. Akihiko doesn’t turn his head towards the evoker, Mitsuru and Shinji don’t hold it sideways, at least Ken gets a whole new pose since it isn’t a heart shot anymore. I was way mad at first that mc’s twirl was absent but then realized it’s used for persona swapping instead.

Damn they were great in FES and only got better for reload. All the new VA's definitely did the game its due diligence (imo all the new va's are better but thats not saying that the OG were bad).
