Breaking Akihiko's Social Link and later repairing it. In order to break Akihiko's Social Link (not that you'd want too...) You have to choose his "Lover Flags" in Rank 4, Rank 6 and Rank 9 of his social link and when he confesses reject him.
If you do reject him, even after repairing the link you're stuck in the Friend Zone.

i actually did it just to see what would happen and because i didnt wanna cheat on shinji. After the reconciliation I felt bad so I reloaded last save to see what happens if you say yes
akihiko is not only super sweet and handsome, he’s also the most popular guy at gekko. imagine his fan club’s reaction to minako rejecting h i m.

Not only that, when playing as the Female Protagonist whilst completing Rank 3 of the, Magician -> Junpei's Social Link, he even suggested to the player to win Akihiko's affections, already hinting to have an interest in him. Then again, I've actually encountered a walkthrough where the uploader wanted to friendzone Akihiko anyway despite the romantic options in previous ranks/steps.
tfw I answered yes instinctively to his ‘Will you be my girl?’ request and I’m not even a girl... He’s just too awesome.
The better way of fixing his social link is giving him some Protein
