MrTherandomguy42 Technically he has the same voice as Minato/Makoto, just like how they sort of look the same. In Q, where he had to play him AND Yosuke, he altered his performance so Yosuke had a higher, more excited tone of voice.

So theoretically speaking if Blue Hair here didn't awaken to the power of Persona and generally lived life as a normal human being, the end of the world would not have started. But the Dark Hour and the Apathy Syndrome would continue to exist until he died in which case Nyx would have arrived anyway unless the seal can be passed down by blood and DNA... I don't think there is a single greater example of screwed by fate then this guy.

He naturally had the gift to summon a Persona (His being Orpheus), so even if he wasn't the one that Death got sealed into he would still be pulled into the Dark Hour eventually, and still would find his way into the SEES Group and eventually face off against Nyx whenever the chosen child summoned Death for the first time.

The Fall will still take place but through a more slow process since the arcana shadows are still separated, and thus more people will be exposed to apathy syndrome, causing the end of the world anyway. So regardless of the what-if, humanity is still fucked unless Blue Hair dude turns into the Messiah.

I think a certain persona protagonist has it harder than Minato. P2 EP - Tatsuya will suffer eternally and his friends having no memory of him.

@Makoto Yuki he couldn't erase his memories. They both had it tough, really tough. But at least Minato died as a hero(Messiah) everyone remembers. Tatsuya though...

I think being a wild card is more about not having a particularly strong personality to begin with, thus able to take on a variety of Personas at a time. Igor keeps describing the power as that of zero, empty, but full of possibilities. This creates the perfect excuse to have a bland shell character for the player to self insert.

Awwwww I really feel for Ryoji here, he doesn’t deserve to die but if it means preventing the death of Mankind then it can’t be helped :(

@@EVERYWHERE_MAN That's what I was talking about. His Performance as Luke Fon Fabre, Asch the Bloody, and Teen Ben. I'm aware that those are the only characters that he voices in the Tales of games.

This is probably the most goosebumps and chills I had while playing a game. It’s insane how everything started falling into place

Just finished this scene in P3R and I had to come back to this version because the remake didn’t hit anywhere near the goosebumps I felt when I witnessed this scene for the first time. The sombre and even upset tone in Ryoji’s voice, it even breaks when he apologises for the Fall being inevitable. Yuri Lowenthal absolutely killed this role. The whole point is that Ryoji became more human by inhabiting Makoto for ten years, which is why he goes through all the emotions he does during this scene. He genuinely sounds distressed by the whole situation and devastated that he’s now going to lose the only people he’s ever been friends with, not wanting any harm to come them, something I don’t feel comes across enough in the remake, where yeah he sounds depressed about it but doesn’t sound as if he cares nearly as much as here. Characters like Akihiko and Ken sound so pissed off in the remake whereas here, they sound way more panicked and afraid, something I’d find way more believable when they’ve literally just been told they’ve got less than two months to live. Up to this point, I think Zeno Robinson has been a great alternative to Vic, his Junpei is definitely one of the strongest performances of the game but I think in this scene specifically, Vic has him beat. His delivery and confidence of “we’ve nearly lost!” absolutely sells his belief in his friends and just emphasises his “bullshit” line that follows. New Junpei I feel is trying to keep the facade that he’s alright by the news but then gets frustrated when talked down by Ryoji. I get they were going for something different but the delivery in this original version I feel is so much cleaner. The remake has been great up till now and will probably continue to be, I’m just a bit disappointed at how they handled my favourite scene in the game. Everything else in the game has been on par if not slightly better than the original mostly but I’ll still come back to P3 if not just for this original scene. The goosebumps and absolute dread that sinks in once you realise what’s going on is unmatched in a persona game imo

Yuri Lowenthal voiced a lot of JRPG characters with identity issues in 2006. Heck, Ryoji even looks a lot like Minato, so perhaps in a sense he is a REPLICAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...

This is the most recent part of the game I’ve played and I’ve never felt goosebumps like this in a Persona game. I’ve played them in reverse starting with 5 then 4 and finally 3 FES but the chills I had from watching this were something else. I was expecting the twist regarding Ryoji’s identity but how remorseful and sad he is that the Fall is coming and is unstoppable makes my heart melt. The stakes have never felt higher than in this game and I’m so looking forward to beating it, it may be my favourite of the bunch after this is all over. Persona 3 was the hardest one I was able to get into but for moments like this, I can say all the frustration and effort was worth it. I don’t doubt that I won’t be disappointed.

You did well in playing them backwards. The change in tone from 3 to 4 makes it really hard to get into, and 5, while having its darker parts, feels overall safer and less impactful. This is definitely my favorite Persona game (I've yet to play Persona 2) and despise what Persona 4 made to the Shin Megami Tensei series.

OH SHIT, RYOJI IS PHAROS... makes sense... so Ryoji spoke with SEES after Minato sealed Nyx away.

Well if she never cought Nyx the world would have ended anyways and way sooner. So she gave Minato more years to leave and chance to save everyone by screwing his life.

Nyarlathotep IS humanity’s Shadow as well as the dark counterpart to Philemon, but Nyx is indeed the Mother of Shadows as her initial arrival to Earth billions of years ago is what caused the creation of the collective unconscious

Does anyone get the feeling that the Persona 3 dub has ended up being better than the rest of the Persona Games? The rest are pretty good, but the casting here is specially strong.

The idea that "Death" is an unnatural arcana is kinda stupid, when there is life there is also a guaranty of death... that is how things have always been. So shouldn't Ryoji have existed as long as life itself has as well? Small hole in Atlus's logic there...

Braden Hamilton Remember that all "Big Shadow" are Reversed Arcana. And reversed arcana are "unnatural" in the aspect they are the perversion of there meaning. Death is natural, but not the Reversed Death. Its natural to have death, there is death as long as there is life, the Death arcana in Tarot mean changement, a new cycle. ( All Arcana before Death are "human" forces, and those after Death are mystical, celestial forces beyond human ) But the the Reversed Death arcana ( wich is Ryoji ) basically the end of everything without any new beggining possible, a stagnation of nothingless. This is why Ryoji shouldn't have existed.

Yeah some of the logic is nonsense but I think you can excuse plot holes if you have something strong to say at the end of your story. And Persona 3 has a STRONG ending. Probably the best in the series if you ask me.

I enjoyed both persona 3 and 5 but 3 is by far the most sad one. There is no way to avoid death in that game and if you were to kill ryoji everyone dies. When I think about it persona 3 was definitely the most dark persona game

@@nop4670 Persona 3 holds a very special place in my heart, because it helped me back then to overcome my paralyzing fear of death and the nothingness that awaits us all. While im certainly not going to welcome the day i die, all i can do is accept the inevitability of it and do what i can until that day comes.

God this is so much better than Reload. I hate just how much of a bitch they made Ryoji sound like in Reload, I know they did it so they could link it with the movies and force their stupid relationship but he's so much cooler here and the way his voice just changes is so good, he actually sounds threatening.
