    The more soap residue left behind, the dirtier the fabric will become

    I would be very concerned about residue left on the couch. The detergent used is very concentrated.

    Pot lids keep the cloth spread out. Have you ever tried rubbing two fabrics together without them catching each other? Using the cloth alone would just make the job harder.

    Not wearing gloves while using concentrated detergent is very bad for your skin. Laundry detergent will contain enzymes which digest stains eg proteins etc. It will harm your skin.

    I came here to say this exactly. I have very sensitive skin, I can't even chop tomatoes without gloves. I splashed some laundry detergent on my hand, before I could even rinse it off it burned a hole through to the fat tissue.

  • @felixcallan8211

    @@ruthgriffiths7365 Yes Ruth the enzymes would digest your skin if it wasn't protected. Biological washing powders contain enzymes. The little pods are even more concentrated. No way would I get that on my skin and if it ever does accidently I wash it off straight away. It would be even more dangerous if a splash got into your eye as it would digest the cornea. I actually witnessed this once in a school experiment when a syringe accidently squared a drop into a boys eye.

    You are not eating from it or wearing it, why would it need to be rinsed? I suppose you could go over it again with plain water, but why? It would just slow the drying process...

  • @andreaboyer6936

    @andreaboyer6936

    @@shannonmcgill8206 Because soap residue left on the couch will only attract more dirt and dust to coat the couch! Also, don’t you ever lie on your couch? I would never want my skin, or especially my face, to come in contact with concentrated chemical detergent! And last, but not least, my dog and cats lie on the couch all the time, and detergent would be toxic for them to breathe in, and to groom off of their fur. This is just a horrible idea all around!
