I love every character but I'm so glad we see much more Reese scenes this season.

I'd have to say that the most heartbreaking scene is at the very end when Reese sets the box down, then looks at Det. Fusco(?) when he realizes it's Carter's desk. They are both still mourning her.

10urable10, in my opinion, that makes him even more badass. Take away the machine, and Root definitely would lose in a fight. Even with the Machine, the odds aren't in her favor.

Fucking return to form. Not that it was ever truly out of form, but this episode was a bit of everything that makes the series great, done well.

Like I said, the series as a whole was never truly out of form, but season 2 and 3 had their fair share of bumps (Shaw was hard to take to at first, considering she was at first just a more sociopathic Reese from season 1, while Reese (and the tone of the show overall) mellowed considerably throughout. That bit in Season 1, where Reese holds the serial rapist hostage with a gun on the table and asks the man to help him decide whether or not he deserves to live; or Reese bursting into the US Marshal's office in New York and beating the tar out of everyone between him and a abusive husband. Those sort of things would not have happened as freely in Season 2 or 3 as they did in Season 1. My uncle, a lover of comic books and various forms of quality film, who got me into the show in the first place, admitted he hasn't watched much past Season 1 because the tonal shift between seasons was so dramatic). They always got back on track when they started pursuing the larger story at hand (Carter's war on HR, Vigilance and Samaritan) and they always got back on track well. This particular episode was a lot like 3x11, just without the somewhat bumpy road preceding it. It was everything that makes the show fantastic (great action, clever schemes and twists on all sides, a pile of moral questions and desire to save people. And an somewhat ominous AI watching the entire world). I guess "return to form" was not the best choice of words. But "it's back" has already been done to death.

+ISchulz Now that I have watched all 4 seasons I can say that the most boring ones were those where only one story was told. It makes a film much more interesting when the storyline goes several paths like the two last episodes of season 4 that was really breathtaking. And then of course the episodes that are more emotional like Carters death. But I agree the episodes with Dr. Tillman and the Marshal episodes were really good, because they showed a lot of character study of both Finch and Reese. And Emerson and Caviezel are very accomplished actors.

Yes, that's also right but I see that look he gave to the camera as a challange or something like that. He knew Samaritan was watching them but he still wanted to help the number and said the words that he shouldn't say loudly.

Reese has a death wish, he was just waiting for the perfect time to sacrifice himself. He has no life outside the man in the suit. The difference between him and Shaw is that being Finch's agent is her job and it's the only job she's suited for but she still lives her life John doesn't, everything he does is about self-flagellation for every mistake he has done.
