Hey pixie, fun fact. When playing as the Spartans or any other faction with very well trained troops (like a later period Roman army) don’t feel like you have to hold your general out to fight and die last. Most of your troops have the discipline trait which means they aren’t affected by the death of their general. Other than that I love your vids, keep it up!

Why tf would you put U.K. in front of the US. Like yes they did help but they took one of the easier beaches and the US took the TWO hardest beaches. It makes perfect sense to put USA first

Hes been on rome 2 alot more lately. Cant wait till he hosts his own tournament under Apollos Rules..maybe some rules more exotic to spice it up. Maybe the tournament takes place with multiple total wars

You should do a similar situation where there would be an army far back (peasants and militia troops only) and let the ai control them at the 20 min mark as a story telling where the citizens roused themselves while watching the fight unfold. It would be interesting because you would have no idea what they would do and from a story telling setting it’s quite cool. Also they won’t be making a huge difference as they are pretty weak but it’ll be fun coordinating with them 😂

I share your lament about the discontinuation of naval battles. Though, believe they have needed an overhaul for a long time due to problems like buggy vessel commands causing paddling backwards for eternity after ramming.

This was a very cool concept , I think your general did great in this battle , what about doing a life of a soldier video on him or anyone else from his retinue ? It would be cool seeing him fight the landing enemies while under heavy fire and artillery the whole time .

I love watching pixelated apolo been watching for years and years, I love this channel

@@dolfyhilter577 for slaving and subjugating even their own fellow greece comrades. and military wise, the were not best of the bests. athens had better army. and in the battle of thermopolia most of the warriors who fought were not spartans. spartans used politics and propaganda to primarily show them self as hero and show the western lands ( persian empires) cruel and week. persians didn't start the greco persian wars and most importantly the persians had employee system and didn't use slaves to build their empire. and they didn't subjugate the land they conquered ether. even salladin the fair was a eastern king who didn't subjugate jerusalem christian when he capture it but some years later the richard the lionheart murdered all of the muslims. this is why they were better humans

I like Sparta, but I wouldn't have actually liked to live there IRL, I don't agree with their politics or anything, but fucking hell they look banging when they fight, and are good at what they do.

Quite effective logistics with the ships landing and retreating for other vessels to take their places. Congratulations. I guess that in some wars trouble in such situations could decide over defeat or victory.

Awesome vid Apollo. A vid on how to make the glitch work would be cool if playing with friends or solo but might mess up random battles so it’s a hard call

Why the Spartans are like elite forces and the persians are like a bunch of angry peasants.

All you have to do to glitch artillery into the defending teams roster is either save a custom army with art in it or switch to attacker, click the unit, and then switch back to defense. That last one only works in online multiplayer though. I literally did both by accident the first day I played rome online lmao

Man the nostalgia I had when you said Total war is getting rid of naval battles, I thought of the dev video of them introducing the naval landing battle, where they had a naval battle going on at the same time as a land battle and it was awesome! They're probably getting rid of it because nobody plays naval battles and its a waste of their resources and time

I wish there were more games that could have land and naval battles like this

If anyone is wanting to know, the game the posters are from is Kingdom Come Deliverance and my God that game is a fucking masterpiece

Interesting fact: There were Spartans who hold up the ottomans in the Mani Peninsula, the Maniotes were Spartan descent and even if they made part of the Byzantine Empire, they never accepted ottoman turkish rule. These guys honored the ancient Laconians. There should be a movie about them, Spartans who had rifles and Bayonets

How do you bring hoplite units like this? I only can bring these in the Wrath of Sparta dlc and there are no persians. In the base version the hoplites look totally (haha) different. Can someone help please?

Quick fact we all know in Rome 2 pikemen take more damage to ranged weapons right Well the pikes actually we’re also used a protection against missile or Long range weapons because the would hold them in the air and that would knock them out of the air and fall down useless

Attacking against spartans sounds like a death wish every time.

It’s easy as fuck to do, it’s really strong when for example you glitch long sword cohorts from garlic Rome into palmyra and you have an insanely strong faction with top tier and cheap melee, strong archers, piles,chariots,defensive units like spears this glitch is quite strong
