Hi Jason, I am from Texas originally and live in California. I’m trying to move back out to Texas and have been looking in the Austin area but I am open to other places. I just need good schools and long term community. I have 3 daughters 1 1/2 , 5, 7 I am a vet and would like to use my Ca benefits also I am 10% disabled so I think I get property tax credit. I haven’t worked in 2 years due to my middle daughter getting leukemia and then COVID. My credit is around 600 and I recently started working now that my daughter is almost done with treatment. Her last day is aug 21 and we are looking to be out there soon after so she can start the school year in kinder. Sorry for long post. Long story short it worked out that my wife and I are working remotely perm and we don’t have any debt but we have some lates due to pandemic.

Hi Justin, I know this message was for Jason but thought I'd chime in. First off I'm happy to hear your little girl will be done with her treatments soon. I lived in Austin for 14 yrs, then San Antonio, now Dallas & Austin was really nice but houses there in the city are freakin pricy so most ppl end up buying outside of Austin like Pflugerville, Round Rock, Kyle, Leander, Buda, or Georgetown just to name some places. I dont know much about the school systems though because I dont have kiddos. The housing market is great right now. You mentioned that your credit score is around 600 and you have no debt. I do know to get the better home loans you should probably get your credit up. There is this company I found called Credit 850 and they do an amazing job with telling you exactly what you do to get that credit score up & most importantly they are not expensive. They even have classes along everything they do on home buyer classes & what all you need to know. Google Credit 850 & read up on this company. I wish you & the fam the best of luck with everything.

Hello Justin. Marie is correct about the Austin market, its insane and the SA area is going up as well. Getting your credit is key. This KZread video gives some great advice on how to do it. It does take effort however taking his advice will not cost money. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gGqFxtqQqbOeeKw.html 10% VA disability won't have any effect on property taxes however it will remove the VA Funding Fee which will save a nice chuck of change that normally gets added to the price of the home. I am glad that I am no longer a displaced Texan. Its good to be back were I belong and either myself or my soon to be partner will be happy to help get you back here. One last thing. You have my favorite name. If I did have a son I would have considered naming him Justin but due to my last name. I would have had to go with Dustin.

Jason, Im moving to Sanantonio in July. Do you think the commute from vintage to Lackland AFB is crazy in the mornings? I'm ok with a 45 min drive only.

Lackland and New Braunfels are complete opposite sides of the area. You're looking at least an hours drive.
