    If Im being honest, I would have gone for the Proton just for the looks inside out and the handling. The two tone interior of the proton is just on another level of gorgeous.

    Great video Hafriz, it all boils down to personal preference and what matters in the end of the day. For me personally i love the R&H of the X50 but i cant deny the Perodua has a better safety suite as compared to the X50 (and cheaper). I wouldn't mind testing the Perodua once it is out just for driving comparison sake. As we all know Protons are a natural when it comes to R&H. lets just hope its not a sampan as like a certain Perodua. It's an SUV after all..

    P2 main selling point is "jimat minyak". Mostly Malaysian will prefer "jimat minyak" instead of performance. for car enthusiast like Hafriz surely prefer X50

    Main selling of the Geely is about value for momey bcos of the features not about droving dynamic since now there is a nee competition in town that undercuts the price of the Geely which is better equipped to me its a no brainer its have to be the Ativa

    those concerned with jimat minyak will also be concerned with the selling price in the first place and this p2 already is much much cheaper than x50 while also having almost the same, if not the same, level of equipment!

    But figure can really trust . Cause alot of japan companies apologize due to manipulate the test result lately. Include Mitsubishi nissan . I dont think it will different much in oil consumption

    i’d rather to choose ATIVA on the value for money reason.. even though i love x50 so much, i think ATIVA is better option.. comparing the features.. and i don’t have any problem with 1.0L turbo engine.. peace ✌️ no war

    That 2 model is cannot be compared. X50 is a level with HRV but these Ativa is a Myvi crossover. X50 more premium built than this Ativa

    Of course it is more premium built than the Ativa it costs more. But definitely it will last longer since it’s a Perodua.

    Great video, but ativa and x50 is not in the same level. One is focusing on performance and ride quality and the other one boasts fuel consumption. End of the day whatever floats your boat.

    seems like the engine power figures are what people should look at too... cause the Daihatsu Rocky/Toyota Raize comes with a 1.0L turbo while the Geely Coolray comes with a 1.5L turbo...

    It's a very interesting battle between these two. I'm also interested to see what's the next game that toyota has. Myvi get led headlamp in 2017 but vios get it in 2020. But toyota is toyota there's always trick up their sleeve. Myvi get led headlamp with no automatic sensor while vios have it for years.

    Good job perodua on safety features. Those should be standard equipment now days not cost option. I hope proton will do something about this. 4 airbag for standard trim is unacceptable.

    Although interior dimension wise, both are likely about the same but I believe the x50 definitely has faster acceleration. It's a question of whether it is worth paying more for that thrill. In terms of reliability and maintenance cost, I will place my bet on CVT over DSG gearbox.

    Volkswagen uses DSG bro, proton uses DCT, same as Kia which is considered as one of the most reliable Auto Transmission out there in terms of consumer report. CVT is never a joy, trust me, i have a 2012 civic hybrid and i hate driving it during jam.

    I would love the X50. But decided to have Exora RC. Can do part time Grab mpv(atleast pay the car), can haul things, and part time home on wheels.🤣 CVT? My FLX too. Just take care of it.

    good point but its a perodua so we should have had an idea already on what to expect on those aspects.. personally im satisfied with perodua's aftersales (axia). but to give a balanced opinion, im also satisfied with proton (blm) bhg not sure about the newer models, though.

    Ativa & X-50, both have their own pros & cons. We also need to consider power to weight ratio also as the raw hp/ps needs to be translated to real world driving. Ativa 0-100 km/h is 9.6 seconds, X-50 is 8.6 seconds, not much of difference but of course X-50 faster. Both are still faster than myvi 1.5, myvi 1.5 achieved 0-100 km/h in 11.5 seconds but still faster than Vios 12.7 seconds. If we just look at pure hp/ps, Vios supposed to be faster than Myvi & Ativa but real world testing shows different result because power to weight ratio of Vios is lower. The fuel consumptions are also different, 5.3l/100 km for Ativa & 6.5l/100 km for X-50. Boot space is larger in Ativa at 369 litres vs X-50 330 litres. For people who priorities performance, more luxurious cabin, features, handling & driving pleasure can choose X-50. For people who priorities on saving budget on fuel consumption & monthly installment, larger boot space & some other practical feature can choose Ativa. Both cars have their own pros & cons, we need to read a lot of review & try to choose base on our needs, because everyone have different needs.     Ativa 0-100 km/h is 9.6 seconds, X-50 is 8.6 seconds, when both cars travelling at 9.6s, x50 is already 15 meters in front ativa. Big difference actually.

    Check the spec between two engine and the size. X50 engine performance better and abit larger have more room than d50l

    Ativa has no temperature gauge! How to know that the engine is overheating as you're driving? Look out for smoke?

    Laju eh I prefer X50 just because of the sleeker look even for the 80k price range Will have to see the 63k+ otr in person first before judging,im not ok with the cvt in a 3cylinder engine tho..if only it keeps the 4at just like in terios/aruz

    X50 also 3 cylinder. CVT from Daihatsu/Toyota is quite reliable. Cannot compare with Proton Saga punch CVT. Which is a proven failure until the new Saga also use 4AT.

    No its not direct shift gearbox from toyota but its dual cvt from daihatsu. They are not the same gearbox.

    Timing chain, wait till you need to change it. It will be a nightmare. Most manufacturer give it a life time but it will never will. It's a wear and tear item. Eventually it will need to change.

    Myvi 2005 till 2009 (solid)400000km...never changer timing Chain...Daihatsu/Toyota engine kosong so cheap lor...last years buy engine 1kr-ve with auto gearbox from Toyota Passo just rm400 in Klang valley...

    What about top speed and 7 speed of x50 compared to the activa. Activa be no where around interms of oomps! It will definitely be unable to catch up above 160km. Max out earlier than the the Peugeot 208 pure tech bit not the X50. Activa is not a game changer if want to compare with Proton X50. I rather choose the x50. With loads of features unmentioned in this review Ai intelligence for instance etc. Drive both models and feel for your-self.

    Ativa front design is a bit conservative, looks like Kembara 2 or Toyota Rush that previously failed to tackle Malaysians. Overall like Vitara. The design not lasts long.

    haha, once again perodua condemned Proton at the car price, its only up to customer really, you need to test the car before buying and not soley look at the price, so that you have the insight which one feel better because you will use the car for 5 years or more. I use to compare bezza and persona, look and style, bezza win however drive and comfort persona win by margin. So i choose comfort and driving over style. I dont regret it, thats my choice. So dont look at the majority comments in the channel ya, fanboy.

    Yea, when I deciding to buy a car last year I tested both Myvi and Iriz 2019. I found that driving Iriz was far more comfortable compared to Myvi. I test drove it, the car seems 'lighter' and the sales person claims its fuel consumption was superb but I can't shake the feeling of driving my wife's Alza. Since I'm going to use the car for long-distance travel every week, I opt for Iriz. Comfort and handling trump everything for a long journey. The fuel consumption is also great. One full tank can go between 500-600km. I've been using that car for a year now so far no problem. My point is don't be loyal to one brand only. Corporations don't care about you. The only thing they care about is your money. So spend wisely.

    They have improved it. I have tested daihatsu rocky and the seats are pretty fkin good.

    Not bad this car. But we just need to be careful though of the recent scandal. It is very shocking when daihatsu admitted they lied and tempered with safety tests. In fact they have lied for the past 30 years ago, since kancil model. This should be upsetting us as the owners as this issue is very concerning. Since all these perodua cars are direct rebatched from Daihatsu, safety of perodua cars are highly doubtful. So we just need to be careful. Right now Daihatsu halts all exports of their cars. God knows how many people have suffered due to these safety issuez. As owners, and again we just need to be careful.

    Its too Obvious that X50 is More more more better than Ativa, nothing to compare. The only thing i love Ative is the Outlook & steering wheel ..... Thats all........ Others is all Won by X50

    I vote the *Perodua Ativa/D55L* (AKA Rocky), because it feel like big SUV but little feel like a K-Car/City-Car. The horsepower & torque are great, interior are good, family SUV but we need manual not CVT. So, it better than X50 (AKA Coolray) because it so so Advance style, freaking expansive, bigger SUV & family SUV

Dekat area saya sahaja 5 or 6 buah X50, mostly red coloured. Perodua has been leading the sale for years already, now when Geely took over, Proton is catching up slowly. The real problem of Proton's after sales service was due to software ordering and delivering system, not because of the spare parts.

    china's been selling cheap cars on for years lah. korean brands also used to do the same. but while they still sell cheap, theyve improved a lot on the product itself. x70 n x50 are good examples. cheapest cars in their class but with high quality and technology.

    Apa yang hang merepek ni pi tido. Ngantuk sangat ni. Apa yang banyak add on? Standard lahh makin mahal makin banyak barang so sama jer lah ngan x50. And harga yg ditawarkan proton sangat tak kena sebab harga flagship perodua ativa lagi murah dari standard x50. Safety lagi tinggi dari x50. Harga lagi murah. Pastu yang lagi best kalau rosak tak perlu tunggu berbulan kat tempat service sebab barang kena ship dari china haaa gitu. Hampir 90% barang dibuat oleh vendor di Malaysia, barulah betul barang Malaysia, setiap kereta yang dijual dapat bagi kerja dekat orang Malaysia padahal X50 barang dibuat di China hmm apa citer. Kalau nak bandingkan spec kan standard ativa ada ASA 3.0 kalau X50 standard takde apa do lampu pon halogen hmm sedih.

    @@chanandlerbong9341 bro kau biar betul bro. Betull assembly kat Malaysia dikira CKD tapi barang yang dia nak assembly tu dibuat di China. Hampir kebanyakan part dia dibuat di china. Sebab tu ramai yang accident x70 ngan x50 mmg berzaman duduk dalam servis centre haa tak caya tengok forum depa. Btw x50 skang ada masalah manufacturing sebab vendor dari china buat hal sebab tu kalau order x50 skang kemungkinan tahun depan baru dapat keta.
