The head of the family BAPURAJAPURAM BALAKRISHNA SASTRIGAL had been with Maha Periyavaa since 1960 and follows HIS footsteps meticulously.
'PERIYAVAA' series will provide an insight into the life of KANCHI MAHAN, HIS Upadesams, HIS untiring efforts to reinstate SANATHANA DHARMA, VEDA SAMRAKHANAM and also highlight HIS views on varied subjects including art & culture, science, politics and how a human being should conduct himself in his day to day life!
The highlight of this Series is almost all the artistes are facing the camera for the first time!
The series will focus on the seer who is believed to be the REINCARNATION OF LORD PARAMASIVAN himself, having descended on the Earth to propagate Sanathana Dharma and lead humanity to the path of righteousness.
The prime aim of the Series will be to highlight the purpose of HIS being on this Universe and what HE lived for, rather than capturing the miracles attributed to HIM.
The series is to be totally funded by the Rasikas with their contributions
This is, therefore, an earnest appeal to all the Devotees of Maha Periyavaa to come forward and contribute ‘Yatha Shakthi’ and ensure that the lofty ideals fructify.

I feel the Essence of Vedanta to Kindle the questions of our identity beyond body-mind-ego have to be portrayed rather than endlessly taking pride in dead rituals and dogmas. Watching this will lead even earnest Seekers of Truth to be swayed away from Upanishadic Treasure as the portrayal is merely causing polarization, creation division, heaps and heaps of ego colored in the name of Shastram. Please don't do this.

I love seeing your videos and learn a lot. I am born deaf and Brahmin Iyer. My husband is also brahmin deaf like me. I have retired from govt service. We have two beautiful daughters who are married off to Brahmin iyer families and they are well settled abroad. We always follow Iyer rituals. But we have some problem in following one ritual. My mother in law passed away four years back. We have done shraddha every month for the first one year. Then next devasham is done by us with help of our relatives every year . Devasham is coming up next month and we have problem in conducting ourselves as we do not know Tamil and so there is problem with communication with Vadhyars. We know only English. Do we need to do devasham every year? Any easy way to do this devasham? Please advise me.

I am not an expert in this matter, but you can ask with your known vadhyars, If the full procedure of srardham is not possible one can do hiranya srardham. Further details you can ask from the vadhyars as they are more knowledgeable. Namo Namah !

Any spiritual practice is meaningful only when there is no spirit of doership. कर्तृत्वं is the root of ego. And the family portrayed in your series is so deeply entrenched in their egos due to ritualistic fanaticism and dogmas which is much harder to break than any conventional person of today's world. Their conditioning is much harder to break and is a greater impediment to realise the treasure of अद्वैतम् . Theis egos out of being great followers of Periyava and gross misinterpretation and misrepresentation of regressive practices that are far from the spirit of Self Enquiry is no different from that of a person engaged in worldly transactions. Their actions just because you give the coloring of Shastram have no sanctity as they lack the basic essence which is essential for any spiritual practice.

Patiently waiting if even an iota of the essence of the spirit of Advaita Vedanta would be ever explained! Alas , didn't happen till date
Santhana gopalan says that he is born and brought up in Canada. According to Maha Periyava one who crosses the sea is not eligible to do rituals and learn Vedas. My humble request to the director to follow the instructions and bodhanas of Periyava in the serial.

Periyawa saranam. In a serial like this, there can be many more minor deviations if not MINIMAL irritants. (e.g.) Anusha albeit having repeatedly said that she had read many times all volumes Deivaththin kural, says once that she understood the importance of Thaaimozhi only after Kollu thaththa's quoting Deivaththin kural on the importance of THAAIMOZHI, her some more earlier arguments etc etc. What one has to see in a serial (I admit that I seldom see or saw any serial including most useless day-to-day laugikic mega serials or even so called religious serial, this serial somehow I am watching or seeing as one of my friend suggested to me), the main message being conveyed - in this case SOME THOUGH NOT IN FULL WHICH MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE AS EACH PAGE CONTAINS HUGE VOLUME OF INFORMATION / essence of Deivaththin kural volumes which many might not have read). Practicality with following as for as possible the ethics / culture as advised by Mahaperiayawa only need to watched. A typical character being Anusha here with reservations and adaptations. I appreciate the efforts taken by the team. Pranams to the team for this great efforts. Let us not debilitate their effort in communicating relevant info needed at today's world.
