Peristaltic Hose Replacement for Albin ALH and ALX Pumps

Albin Pump hose replacement for the ALH and ALX high pressure pumps can be performed in a relatively quick and simple manner. As the most critical component in an industrial peristaltic pump, the hose is able to withstand abrasive or aggressive media without interrupting fluid flow in diverse applications like mining, mineral processing, or water treatment. Proper hose replacement is necessary to guarantee long-lasting, reliable performance.
Required Tools and Materials:
• Albin Lubricant
• Albin Hose
• Brush
• Wrench, Socket Wrench
• Mallet
• Flange/Bracket Hardware
• (Cordless) Drill and socket attachment
Installation Steps:
1. Disconnect the pump from the power supply for safety until advised otherwise.
2. Lubricate the inner surface of the outlet port (black circular sleeve nearest the base of the frame) and the inlet port (black sleeve directly above the outlet port). Lubricate the outer length of the pump hose diameter (to reduce friction).
3. Insert the hose end into the outlet port, turn the drive on and begin feeding the hose into the casing. As the shoes rotate, the pump hose will continue being drawn into the pump. Continue lubricating any missed sections on the outer diameter (OD) of the hose as it enters the port.
4. When the hose is slightly visible (4-6”) at the outlet, stop the drive.
5. Install the flange brackets on either side of the ports and hand-tighten the fasteners. Note: Please consider the orientation of the bracket (tabs facing inward). Mount the flange on the end of the brackets and hand-tighten the bolts.
6. Torque the bracket down securely to the Albin specification. Finish tightening the flange. Note: A socket wrench was used to tighten the bolt while a separate wrench was used to hold the nut in place.
7. Slide the smaller steel clamp over the hose until it reaches the face of the larger diameter of the sleeve and is flush. The head of the bolt should be facing upward.
8. Slide the second cast iron clamp over the hose. Drive the hose forward until it is flush with the flange face. Rotate the cast iron clamp upright such that bolt is visible between the brackets for assembly step 10.
9. Assemble the insert though the flange and into the inner diameter of the hose until flush with the flange face. Use a mallet to tap insert in place.
10. Tighten the clamps to the specified torque.
11. Repeat the steps for the other port.
Note: Refer to technical manual for appropriate torque specifications.
