Periphery - Marigold Guitar Cover By Ryan Siew

My band: / polarisaus
Hey guys, it’s been a while! Loving the new Periphery material so I had to cover this song, had a lot of fun figuring this one out, some of the riffs get pretty tricky - especially those arpeggios at the end haha. Anyway, enjoy the video, hopefully I’ll be uploading more frequently but you can keep in touch with me through my socials down below!

Emmanuel Malibert If you're talking about the first riff, it's 7/8. The last beat is a compound beat. You can tell the last beat feels longer than the others. If you look at the sheet music, it's notated as 7 bars in 7/8 and a last one in 8/8.

Music can be notated many ways. You can call it 7/4 or 7/8 or 7/16 etc etc. It doesn't matter, the only difference between those would be the note values and the tempo you play it at. It would sound the same when played. That being said, 7/8 makes the most sense and is most easy to comprehend in this instance. Plus the drums lend themselves to that feel. Also, the majority of the song is in 8/8 or 4/4, whichever you prefer. Only the intro/first verse riff and half of the second verse are in 7/8

Dear Ryan Siew, This is the video I was sitting tight for. It's so astonishing. This video truly completely changed me and helped me develop myself into a superior, reliable and an all the more minding individual. The manner in which you play that guitar truly moves me to contemplate progressively about music and show signs of improvement rehearsing it. Taking a gander at your adventure unquestionably got me progressively roused and yearning about my examinations and I will in reality buckle down and practice hard to be as effective as you. Taking everything into account, your recordings got me inspired to accomplish my fantasies and objectives throughout my life to pick up notoriety and achievement in this great and green world that us people live in. I would definitely prescribe your recordings to my companions and my folks as they need to think about your unending and wonderful ability. Really wonderful and furthermore honored to have seen you, a prodigy, making music and being a very good example Thank you, Yaseen Kaliyadan xoxo

+Dale Sellick It just takes lots and looooots of time to get apreggios like that right by l ear. I thought sweep picking wash a dark art. Completely convinced it was impossible. Then I devoted 4 hours a day for 2 years and could do it across 7 strings effortlessly. Miles of machines by Jeff loomis quickly became one of my favorite songs to play. My dyslexia reaps hell on me learning by ear, that's the only reason I prefer not to.
