    Hi Dr Pedro, any experience doing this using an Android phone? I tried using my video option with flash but it was very difficult to get a proper image.. I'm going to give filmic pro a try but if theres any tips reg android phones.. it'll be much appreciated! (Ophthalmologist from Malaysia)

    Hey shvn! I’ve always used an Iphone but you shouldn’t have issues using android as long as you can regulate the intensity of the flash. Try FiLMiC pro o Ullman indirect, this are the best apps in my opinion. Hope it helps

    Is there any way to do this without dilation drops? Looking at this for a DIY at-home project, so nothing prescription would be available.

    Yes , it can be done but it is extremely difficult with this method. Mukai et al adapted a BlackBerry to be able to do it without dilating drops

    @@MrPillo55 Why wouldn't this work with iphone? does it have something to do with the flash and camera sensor distance?

    Great video thanks , I want to ask how far from the eye do you place the lens and what light source do you use for examination (mobile phone ? )

  • @MrPillo55

    @MrPillo55

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for your comment! So the distance to the eye depends on de lens used and the amplification desired. The phone’s flash is the light source

    Hey Klyde, so I use a Volk Digital Clearfield. You can use any lens but in my opinion this lens has a good balance between field and magnification.

    Pedro Mario González Madrigal what is the diopter of the lens that you used? I have this as my thesis study. We used a 20d lens but we cant see through the retina by using this lens.

    Well this is one of the volk digital series, so it is supposed to be between a 20 and a 28. But I´ve used 20´s, 28´s, 30´s. They all work well.
