Idk how they'd fix it, you cant have it clip through objects, it doesnt make sense to limit the damage ticks after a collision, the only thing they could do is nerf the damage or the aoe.

All they have to do is just make it so that all the hitboxes for Rolling Sparks can't stack on top of each other. So that even if you free-aim it directly into the ground, it still spreads out along the ground. I'm pretty sure that was what was intended for the Ash of War in the first place.

A bit unrelated, but also totally related to new weapons like Perfumes. I beat the final boss solo last night (I didn't use the perfumes, before you even go there, lol). Without getting into too much detail, I did it in a stubborn way on NG+, but I wasn't leveled up enough, and I only use melee weapons, no shields, and no parries. I honestly had more trouble with Bayle, but I digress. I practiced by putting my summon sign down outside the boss arena for like a day and a half. I can't tell you how jarring it is, to see everyone go from using RoB, Blood Fly Swarm incantations, or just plain old Rot Dragon Breath, almost exclusively, non-stop, for two years in the base game (other than that, Bloodhound Fang, but they refuse to do anything besides press L2). Didn't matter if the boss was immune to what they were using, everyone was just going to try to brute force their way through the game using their one trick (they just copied online btw, most likely). Now? At the end of the DLC? I admit, I barely did much co-op until I finished everything, but at the final boss, suddenly people grew a brain and realized not everything can be fought the same way, hoping to get lucky, or summon someone else to beat the boss for them. Unfortunately, people only care enough just to beat the Final Boss, but it's still funny to see everyone try switching to the Lightning Perfume or a Greatshield and status proccing weapon to poke from behind. Just to beat this boss. Man, what I would have given for even a SMALL FRACTION of people that summoned me to beat Radagon to just not use a Bleed Build, especially RoB. I guess the DLC final boss just broke people to change builds, or at least get something through to their thick skulls.

I'm one of the people who were forced to switch builds and look up a cheese strat( The bloodfiends arm with bleed high arcane pose break). I know it's not a race, but I really don't have the patience anymore for a boss like him anymore knowing I have to go to work the next day. A couple of hours is my limit, I need to do other things but everything else was manageable, even BAYLEEEEEEEEEE!!! Currently helping people with antspur bleed poke and respec into a full tank.

I struggled to beat the final boss and my main weapon was at the time godslayer gs and for the life of me I couldn't kill him mostly because I couldn't see what the hell was going on. Bosses like twin princes and Gael I liked because they were fast, aggressive, hurt, just like radahn but they had clear tells and occasional breathers where my heavier weapon could hit them without me getting wacked in return, with radahn I had to use a greatshield because I can't see what he's doing enough to dodge it

@@alexberube5269 The visual clutter (valid complaint you hear about this boss) is exactly why blocking is better than dodging at first. It's so hard to see, and things happen so quickly that you can be stunlocked and take massive damage. That's why I spent a lot of time practicing with Co-op for others. I could experiment with how to dodge and what needs to be dodged in a specific way, when the best time to attack is. Less flasks and no Great Rune as a phantom forced me to be very cautious and pick my time better, while the Host can be a distraction to give me time to think, while I do the same for them when they need it. But yeah, it's hard to see what's happening, so it's hard to know when exactly you should dodge (and where, something rarely needed to consider to dodge most things), but it's possible. I was on NG+ at level 110 with my weapons not at max level for online purposes, but I still wanted my first DLC playthrough to be with this character. If I was on regular NG with a proper max weapon character level 150-200 or more, I would have beaten the final boss much easier, and probably wouldn't have as much insight on how it works compared to how I did it with a bit of an extra challenge.

Thing is: Perfume Bottles are actually kinda bad for pvp. Rolling Sparks is the one thing that is absolutely busted and broken op. The rest is kinda meh tbh. Tried invading and going on arena with a Perfumer theme build (using wall of sparks and not rolling sparks) and had a terrible time.

They're mainly a defensive weapon, they work okay when someone's trying to rush you down, the R2s are good for getting people away. But then again, being in the defensive role during a fight in souls games is usually the advantageous position anyways. These just exemplify it.

The fact that the attack has a delay before it deals damage makes it really easy to read. However, in PVE I find them incredibly useful as a sidearm because the lingering effect of the attacks makes them an amazing tool to use against some of the most irritating enemies like dogs who love to just run face first into the fire.

This right there, been Invading using perfume bottles for the last few days at rl150, even dudes who go into the dlc blind knows how to counter this weapon, by using something longer and poke from the distance. The delayed dmg makes it even easier to dodge due to latency.

I love these weapons, the frost one is fun and the classic dex/faith with lightning bottle one is a great punishment/roll catcher.

Figures that perfumes are the sweaty gamers kryptonite.

Not exhaustive, but there are some things that needs some balancing. Perfumes, for instance, swift slash, and the fire knight’s great sword, a colossal with an R1 R1 true combo, Bloodfiend’s right arm instant blood proc potential, instant kill punch etc. However, in my opinion, this lightning perfume should be a the top of most broken things found so far in the DLC.

You can also use the lightning shrouding cracked tear and the faith boosting tear for even more absurd damage, because why not

I guess at least this one it's really easy to dodge, unlike some of the other broken shit like swift slash, and the golden crux grab

@@like_th_drinoI’ve run into plenty of ganks using it and I just spammed them with golem great arrows until they got impatient enough to run into *my* rolling sparks. It’s not really something you can run someone down with, they’ve gotta be trying to trade into it. I mean yeah, I would like it to be nerfed too, but as an invader I have to admit I enjoy having something that kills phantoms and hunters so quickly and easily. I haven’t been killed by it once, but only because I’ve played around it *extremely* cautiously knowing that it can one shot me. I dunno, I like having overpowered stuff in the game because the skill differential will always win out in the end, and I’ll always be able to use the overpowered stuff more effectively than gankers. All that said this is *too* powerful, and it’s basically forcing almost anyone who’s paying attention to use it or have it on backup for counter play, creating an annoying and unhealthy degree of build homogeneity.

It's especially annoying considering that spells like Flame, Fall Upon Them and Radagon's Rings of Light will make a target immune to the rest of the bullets once they get hit by one. So the literal fire shotgun spell that could be amazing against large bosses is only okay because they can't get hit by more than one projectile.

A good counter I found if you know they are running this : Palm Strike aow with shard and axe talisman. Fully charged will decimate these guys. At the very least you will both die. Thats still a job well done imo
