I agree! I absolutely love how scents can remind you of a time, a place, &/or a certain person. Like you, my bestfriend also loves rose scents & her favorite is BYREDO Rose Noir. I myself tend to go for fruity florals, but I'm hoping to add something a bit different soon to my huge collection of 3 perfumes 😆. Never tried the Jo Malone Red Roses range, the scent seems interesting. I love floral scents. I'm currently obsessed with Jo Malone's British Pear and Freesia Eau de Cologne. I tried out the smaller size and my life has changed ever since. I want a 100 ml bottle next!

I love Do Som by Diptique and Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison! Also I have a very fond memory of the ballet theme advertisement for Chanel Chance, I remember looking at it up in awe at the Singapore airport

My signature is jo malone's blackberry and bay. Starts bright and fresh, fades to a sweet, clean, feminine floral on me. I also got it for my friend and it smells more masculine on her, as it pulls more woodsy on her skin. Fragrance can be SO interesting.

I love that perfume can remind you of people, places, times, and events in your life. Scent is such a trigger for memory that I've often recommended it as a study hack for students. I encourage them to assign a scent to each subject and have that scent present when they're studying... usually an EO on a tissue or the scent of whatever they're drinking. For me, apples and math is intrinsically linked and literature and chocolate. I actually change up my scent by the season usually. My favorite spring/summer scent is Maison Margiela's Replica Beachwalk with notes of Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Lemon, Ylang Ylang, Coconut Milk, Cedar, Musk, and others. I definitely pick up on all the notes but the bergamot, ylang ylang, hint of coconut and the warm cedar stand out to me. It's a scent profile I never thought I'd enjoy because I don't think of myself as a floral or fruity perfume kind of gal, but it might truly be one of my all time favorites. Bergamot actually seems to be a common thread through many of my favorites and if not bergamot, its lemon, yuzu, or grapefruit but always paired with a floral, berry, or both. Since you love rose scents, you might like Nest's Turkish Rose. It's a perfume oil with key notes of Turkish rose, black plum, and light woods. It's actually one of the best smelling rose perfumes I've had the pleasure of enjoying... but to be fair, I haven't had the opportunity to enjoy Jo Malone's rose perfume. My Burberry Blush is another perfume I enjoy that has rose notes paired with lemon, apple, and other florals that makes it both refreshing and complex. This video has brought back so many memories... its lovely.

Love the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume! My fave (atm) is the Philosophy Amazing Grace perfume Eau De Toilette. Light and Floral! So nice & beautiful!

We have a few overlaps! I had the DKNY apple perfume growing up and my best friend wore Daisy! Some teenage and early 20s favorites of mine also include: Dolce & Gabana Light Blue, Chanel Chance (and later Mademoiselle), Stella by Stella McCartney, and Vera Wang Princess (the bottle was epic!). Now my scent taste has changed. I really like Tokyo Gaiac by Le Labo. I keep Coriander by D. S. and Durga and Gypsy Rose by Byredo in my rotation, too!

Chloe Rose Tangerine smells like grass to me, but in a way that I absolutely love. Definitely need to try Juliet in White, I love jasmine so much. Jasmine is my scent memory since we wear jasmine flowers in our hair for a lot of Indian holidays and my grandmother had a beautiful jasmine tree.

Really happy to see your perfume collection over the years! I recently tried Diptique Eau Rose and found that it was very similar to Roses de Chloe, especially in the dry down. Curious if anyone else here felt the same? I love the scent :)

i have jo malone red roses too!! the reason why i love it so much is because not only is it the perfect recreation of rose but it has sweet citrus notes that adds a layer of depth and complexity to it.

I clicked so quickly and was not disappointed! Such a lovely and also nostalgic fragrance collection! I remember smelling perfume samples of Flowerbomb and Daisy while looking through fashion magazines. Can’t imagine how the room smelled like with all these perfumes combined hahaha! Once again another amazing entertaining video! Will definitely give some of these fragrances a go! Princess Diana I remember was also a fan of a bluebell fragrance by Penhaligon, so it was sweet and charming that Meghan wears one as well🌹

I’m a byredo fan and the best thing is that I share most of the scents with my boyfriend 😊 Couldn’t choose a favourite out of Bal d’Afrique, slow dance, eleventh hour and mixed emotions. A couple of other faves are tiger by her side by sana jardin and portrait of a lady by Frederic malle when I want something intense! Xx

Oh wow! Mum's a BIG perfume person and it was so nostalgic seeing alot of Mum's favourite here. And the ones I occasionally stole and spritzed on birthdays! Thanks for the walk down nostalgia lane, Matilda!!

we have really similar tastes! daisy reminds me of my undergrad in florida. i remember reapplying it in between classes so vividly. i bought jo malone orange blossom as a present for myself for defending my thesis! also funnily enough, i now associate red roses with you even though i’ve obviously never met you. but i smell it and i think, it’s matilda!!!!

Jo Malones lime basil and mandarin is an absolute favourite, I got it for a birthday then immediately went away to the cottage I go to in the summer every year so now the scent is associated with that :D it's so bright and fresh I absolutely love citrus scents

loved this video! I visited Jo Malone last year and tried to swatch every single scent they had lol I ended up getting Mimosa and Cardamom. also, they released a limited edition of their poppy scents and I picked up the Yellow Hibiscus, which is a sweet flowery scent that I normally don't gravitate towards, but for some reason I loved sniffing that one! I think my taste in scent is quite the opposite to yours, I don't really like roses, but I do love hibiscus and maybe neroli when it comes to florals!

i’ve been a loyal glossier you wearer for years, but lately i’ve wanted to branch out a bit. i’ll definitely check out some jo malone scents! as someone who steers clear of floral/fruity scents, i loved the clean but warm tones of glossier you - i always describe it as smelling the way it feels to wake up from a nap in the middle of the summer, that sort of warm but sleepy vibe. great video as always!

I love rose too. I haven't tried many but I love Le Labo Rose 31. Many perfumes give me a bit of a headache but this one is lovely!

OMG I loooooove perfume Matilda. It is absolutely my number one accessory-the one thing I never leave the house without!! can care less about hair and makeup if I don’t wear perfume…My love affair began as a child watching my grandma with her Chanel No5 and my mom with her Dior Poison in the 80s (which used to make my head hurt 😂) and now me since I have over 30 bottles and I use them all depending on mood; and they often transport me to certain snapshots of my life..I’m a floral girl especially a good rose; nothing clean or citrusy or fresh and as I’ve gotten older it’s developed into warm, spicy musky gourmand scents…baccarat 540 is a go to, as is TF Tobacco Vanille, YSL Libre & Black Opium, TF Lost Cherry (latest addition thanks to VIB sale 🤣), TF F Fabulous, Flowebomb, Chloe, etc…clearly I have a problem but I love a good scent 💜💜💜

It fascinates me how definitely people interpret different scents. To me, Chloe and Flowerbomb are both fresh, fairly light, floral scents. I do love a good spicy gourmand scent... YSL Black Opium, Armani Si, and Carolina Herrara Good Girl being some of my favorite ones... but there's nothing like a perfume with bergamot or patchouli to make me feel all warm and fuzzy. If I ever find a fragrance that mixes bergamot, bourbon, and an undertone of warmth... that would be heaven.

Love this video! I was obsessed with Daisy as well and remember getting DKNY Be Delicious on 17th birthday in US :) My favorite scent from Jo Malone so far is Poppy and Barley, since I also love sweeter floral scents. Red Roses is definitely on my radar

You’re always in time because I wanted to rewatch older videos 🌸🕊For me fragrance is such a difficult subject because pretty much everything is ~too boring or obvious~ so once my mom and I discovered that you can mix Jo Malone’s fragrances we immediately bought Wild Blueberry and Honey Blossom and that’s all I’ve been using for a couple of years now. Year ago I decided to buy ‘You’ after your video and my boyfriend likes it on me so I guess it’s also a win🤍🗝 I feel honored because you also have Wild Blueberry and I didn’t know that😂

Loved seeing your collection! I used to be a signature scent person, though more recently I've been toying with the idea of using specific scents for specific occasions. My recent perfume favorite has been Bright Crystal by Versace, though I just use the Into the Night body spray from Bath and Body Works for daily wear.

Just bought Jo Malone’s Red Roses because of this video. The smell of rose is prominent but not too overpowering. I would say it’s the true rose smell and I love it 😍. We shared the same preference: rose-scented perfume. The other day I spritzed my favourite - Dyptique’s Eau Rose and someone complimented the smell too 💕.

I wasn’t sure I was in to florals but I got Un Jardin Sur La Lagune by Hermès and I love it, i also have blueberry and bay from jo malone, and I’m planning on getting my hands on myrrh and tonka from jo malone and maybe angel by mugler!

Rose recommendation: Penhaligon’s Elizabethan Rose and L’Occitane Rose Calisson. My 14 year old daughter wears Flowerbomb, which I also love. My signature scent is Lancôme La Vie est Belle, but in the past were: Gap Dream, Tresor, Chloe, CK Eternity, Kiehl’s No. 1, L’Occitane Verbena and Penhaligon’s Bluebell. My favorite scent memorie is my grandma using her precious bottle of Chanel No. 5 once a week for church and also my mom’s signature scent, Lancôme Magie Noire. It was discontinued and when they relaunched it was reformulated, and because the original is so ingrained as “Mommy’s perfume” it was disappointing that it didn’t smell quite the same, if that makes sense. I was a magazine fiend too and loved rifling through to find the “perfume pages” which I would use for special occasions. :)

I absolutely love rose and floral scents. I've been trying to find a signature scent that I can wear for every occasion. Recently I've been wearing Guerlain passiflora for it's fresh and citrussy vibes since we are going into summer but I think it's a bit too strong for some things. I'll definitely be trying out some of these, thank you so much for this video!

Finally managed to get stuff done enough to sit down and watch this video! I love scent memories, my mother used to wear Miracle Summer by Lancome when I was a child--it's been discontinued since but the fruity notes are still in my mind. My teenage perfume obsession was the 2012 Miss Dior--I think the one from last year that's all over TikTok now is slightly different--but that was my holy grail of "grown up scent". I think I enjoy layering a floral perfume with a stronger note a lot--Le Labo's Rose 31 is apparently what I normally smell like, according to a friend--but I often layer it with Cuir 28 or Tabac 28. I've often been convinced by the "vibes" of a perfume and that's how I blind bought Maison Margiela's Replica Whispers in the Library. It's quite a strong scent, but I'm happy with those and I love that one. A lighter floral Replica scent I've found is Lazy Sunday Morning. I find it a bit too lily and linen-ish, but I've got friends who swear by it. Diptyque's Do Son is the one my mum wears now and I steal it from her every time I visit. My favourite niche perfume secret is L'Artisan Parfumeurs, they've got some lovely scents! Apologies for the rambling essay, I just get excited about perfume, and this was such an awaited video, loved it, I feel calmer already xx

Love this! My current fave is by Rosie Jane’s Rosie. I just upgraded from the baby sample to the travel spray bottle and I will say that the Sephora app comments are right, they are not the same scent! The trial size is more musky and powdery and the bigger size is decidedly more floral and brighter. I never thought I’d like a rose centered scent but Rosie was my favorite from the sampler and hey maybe Matilda is on to something here!

Love this video! I also wear Daisy, but I've been wanting to try Jo Malone scents. There isn't a store near me that sells it so it's difficult to know what I like just from the descriptions but I really like the sound of their Lime Basil and Mandarin.

I got a tiny sample of the Lime Basil Jo Malone when my mom went to restock her big bottle of Red Roses, and I have to tell you, it is a very masculine scent. It smells really good, extremely green and fresh, but also very masculine. Just a warning! Go for it if you're into it!

All trough my last year of high school (2019, right before the panini caos) I wore a Rihanna Body Splash that I bought at a random Ross somewhere in Miami. To this day and now getting back to life, the scent reminds me of easier times, happy memories and a younger me, naive and full of energy. I'm still trying to find a scent that will mark this new era of 20 y/o me, but I am confident that it will find me instead.

Daisy was the first fragrance I bought as a teenager! I saved up for it and drooled over the campaigns whilst I waited. I still have the bottle ❤🌼

Thank you! Ooh interesting, I think I'd heard that you could put them in the fridge too.. but I haven't tried anything like that! I just store them in a cool, dry place (in a box in a cupboard) and even the oldest bottles here smell the same ☺️👍 x

i love rose too!! sometimes i feel so old fashion for loving rose...but i cant get enough of it. i have the JM red roses and chloe edp and absolue

Love this kind of videos ♥ I don't have the same tastes than you, but always curious to know! (Even if I bought Red roses because of you two years ago! ) When I listen to your voice I imagine you wearing so much of perfumes that I like! My beloved perfumes are Piano Santal by L'Orchestre Parfum, a beautiful lactic sandalwood. Oh là là by Teo Cabanel a Hazelnul sandalwood (Yes, I love sandal wood!) and Naxos from Xerjoff, a very very strong Honey tobaco! I also love Parisian musc by Matière première and I think that maybe you could love this one! ♥

Glossier You will always remind me of the fall trip I took a few years back, traveling through the New England states because it's all I wore! Another favorite scent is Lush's Lust solid perfume, smells just like honeysuckle (or jasmine flower) and I've been wearing it for years and years.

Love Chloe, was stuck on Christian Diors Forever and Ever for the longest time. In younger days, with pocket money went for CK perfumes as they were more budget friendly. Great video and will definitely branch out into more scents.

Another rose perfume that's possibly discontinued: When I was 16, a couple months after my cousins had moved in with us, I discovered the Stella Sheer perfume in Priceline and the scent transported me right back to sitting with my cousin when we were like 3 and 4 on my front porch crushing up rose petals from the garden to make our own little 'perfumes', so I bought her that bottle of Stella Sheer for her 16th birthday as she was newly settling in with us :) The most sentimentally important perfume I own is my mum's 30ish year old bottle of Dior Poison, which is so vintage that it doesn't even have a spray top, it just has a glass stopper sitting on top. She used to wear it but it got lost in the divorce when I was little, and then years later I found it at my dad's parents' house and smuggled it back to give to mum. But she didn't want it anymore, so now it's a precious part of my collection, and it's become my "Hot Date" perfume! I love its complexity and how it mellows and warms up over time on my skin to unveil the warm woody sweet base notes

Love a perfume video!! You should try Jo Malone Rose and Magnolia! One of my favourite winter florals! I just got a 250ml bottle of Dior Rose Kabuki and it is now my favourite. A watery dewy rose dipped in baby powder!

i love perfums and have been waiting for this video for a while from you, i love scent memories and still keep a bottle of Britney spears fantsy as my mum wore it during my childhood and always reminds me of her! Im wondering, have you tried delina by perfums demarly? as you love rose, i feel like you'd like that scent, its turkish rose but has a slight tartness to it with notes of lychee and rhubarb, love this video and your calming style as always x

YSL’s Paris has scent of pink spring roses but Creed’s limited edition scent Wind Flowers is a floral that lingers a bit longer. I’ve been curious of Jo Malone for a while and you’ve helped me decide to try a few.

Oh i have been in Love with Jo Malone English pear and Freesia and Myrrh and Tonka beans since forever, and My Burberry black for evening soiree.... So recognisable yet classy!!!! But as far as Scent memory goes... It has to be Chanel no 5! My grandma used to wear it and as did my Mum! So ofcourse I used to wear it even as a child when they would spray a bit in the air and ask me to walk through it! My own bottles adorn my dressing table and bathroom shelves and its like having them with me!! This video was so amazing and i thank you for sparking my desire to visit my perfume collection.... Often times we just stick to one or two at a time... But keep collecting them depending on the mood.... 💕 My latest buy was the Tom Ford Black orchid ... Wow it's a definitive scent! So amazing!

so excited for this video!! i’ve been wanting to get into perfumes, but with how much i tend to impulse buy, i’m going to make a rule for myself that i can only purchase a new perfume if i at least halfway finish one i already have. but lucky for me, i’ve just about hit the 65% gone mark on my Glossier You! i will probably be trying to get my hands on a small bottle of jo malone red roses soon ;)

Hey Matilda, I love rose scented everything, and love Jo Malone red roses too! (despite having other two rose fragrances: Penhaligon’s Elizabethan Rose If I want some umph, Diptyque Rose after shower, and recently I’m getting my hands on Rose Morning by Fresh. I bought it online so I wish I would enjoy it!)

absolutely loved this! I've recently tried a new scent, not really a perfume, but a body lotion, which I never go for, I am so glad I did LOVED THIS SCENT it's from this brand called Santa Maria Novella Idrasol Cream- OHMYGOD the handsome dude with a linen shirt, exactly how you put it, describes that scent lol

Love this! I don’t go a day without fragrance, one of the last videos I did before #retiring from KZread was on fragrance. My current line up is Jo Malone Rose and White Musk Absolu, which is my go to for a warm sexy scent. Boy Smells Violet Ends which gives me Theirry Mugler Angel vibes (an old fave) but without the overpowering silage. And Jo Malone Earl Grey and Cucumber, which is more of a “just popping to the shops” errand running everyday scent! I wear the Boy Smells scent most often and always get compliments on it. My fiancé loves fragrance, too. His go to scents are Byredo Mixed Emotions, or he layers Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede with Wood Sage and Sea Salt.

I begged my parents for Chanel Chance for my 16th birthday back in 2010. I remember seeing ads for it and feeling like it was time for me to pick a grownup signature scent. I hadn’t even smelled it before I got it! Luckily I really liked it and have been loyal to it since. Now I switch between Chanel and wild bluebell. Chance is definitely very light for a Chanel scent, which is probably why I like it so much

Very beautiful video! Looking forward also to the poetry festival. I have very few fragrances (6 bottles including the body splash cologne ones and i only ever owned 7 distinct fragrances). My tastes are more leaning towards gourmands ( Lost Cherry by tom ford is my all time fave) buut i have two light simple florals i Adore. One is byredo La Tulipe , and smells like a whole tulip, and maybe Lilly of the valley. Basically like a garden after rain in a cold spring. It's delightful. The other fresh floral sleeper hit is Verveine by l'occitane. Smells like their verveine line, which is fresh , green and lemony . I can't imagine owning something of a more complex floral, i love scent profiles that are more airy, but I am interested to try red roses and byredo rose line. Ideally i wish something that smells like the by terry cc palette. ( that oldtimey rose? But without being overpowering)

I love the powdery rose scent of the BY TERRY palettes too Anca! Not sure I'd wear it as a perfume but it feels quite traditional in a very charming way 🌹 Definitely need to look into those Byredo scents, thank you for sharing! x

Dior hypnotic poison was my mum's signature fragrance. Now as an adult I use it when I want to feel mature and sexy. But on the regular, I love Jo malone Bluebell and Chloé Rose Tangerine.

Have you tried any of Maison Margiela’s Replica perfume line? I loveeee how they’re centered around how scents can take one back to certain memories❤️❤️

My go-to perfumes are My Way(Giorgio Armani) and Chanel’s Mademoiselle. Especially the Chanel one, I’m always complimented on it so I guess it goes well with my skin scent 😌

OMG! Rose is also my favourite! 😄💕 I'm using Roses de Chloé for last two years, which is my only perfume. Before that, I had Dolce & Gabbana Rose the One. I definitely need to try your Jo Malone one as well! 😊 I also have got a scent, which brings me old fund memories. That is Estée Lauder Pleasures, which I used, when I was young... 🌸
