shotaro in this was incredible, i feel like you can pause at any moment of the video and watch him and his moves will be worth analyzing. a great team overall.

It's an intense unit, especially since majority are main/lead dancers. though it's so crazy, how many of us just get stolen by shotaro's little nuances and overall movements. shotaro is just crazy outstanding in this art called dancing!

I don't remember where they revealed it but I vividly remember Jeno saying that when they learned the choreo, all of them thought it would be basketball based and then they were surprised when the MV was staged around baseball. So you where right!

I togally agree with you on Jaemin. My bias is Haechan and so I almost always pay attention to him & everyone just fades out but I watched the dance practice again just to see Jaemin. I think he really worked his center time well in Universe! He really stood out to me. In my opinion, this is the best performance from him so far. It’s such a pity that Universe came out so late in the year and they only went to music shows once. Also, SHOTARO WAS AMAZING. I was honestly shocked at how good this unit was cause it seemed so random (😅) but their stage at Inkigayo was great. I saw someone tweet about how Shotaro probably made this unit dance better and somehow I agree 😂 Shotaro, you’re a star! I hope he gets his own unit soon 🥲

@@fatimamalik5523 yes in 2016 he have an herniated disk problem and he took the whole 2017 to heal his back. he returned in 2018 for a member to step on his back for black on black video (sm don't give f about idol health problem).

Yes, it's true. Haechan does have a habit of leading with his elbow when doing hand/arm movements and it is a very Haechan kind of style that really suits him. Haechan has really been going off lately this year, with NCT 127, DREAM and now NCT U, his dancing has improved soo much and not only that but he's getting a lot more lines and more center time now than back when NCT first debuted. I'm soo glad that you take notice of Haechan's movements and how it's different from the other members but at the same time breaking it down for us and telling us why it suits him and how amazing Haechan is as a dancer, very much appreciated Jeff, thank you!!😊😊😊

My gosh finally somebody talked about Shotaro’s hip thrust at 10:25!!! I LOVE THAT DETAIL SO MUCH and it was such a outstanding move that makes my eyes keep falling on Shotaro the whole time. He never misses a single detail and really is specific in his movement. Thank you for pointing that out. That hip thrust must be highly appreciated! 😭

I don’t know anything about dancing but Shotaro dances like a choreographer 😩 He’s a different breed.

At 10:10 you’re pointing out how Shotaro started with the hip first (bottom up). I’d like to point out how Mark leads that move with his shoulders (his specialty, come on). He kinda shakes (?) it at the end, following the beats, left to right (if that’s make sense), while other members don’t rly give the same nuances as they do it bottom up like Shotaro minus the hip. Love both styles!

Shotaro was born to dance. God blessed him with so much talent. He is living his dream life now. He started dreaming K Pop when he saw an NCT127 concert in Japan and now ~ I mean he could have joined a Japanese group but the world should see his talent. Yes, you’re right this group is 🔥 I also love the choreography of Universe. The transitions that leads to the formations are so good. I don’t know which member said they only practiced the choreography to do the MV for 3 days. Maybe they just did the parts that are needed in the MV?? Then they suddenly decided to shift from baseball to basketball in the real dance??? Okay, I am just guessing.

Like seriously Mark dance is just too good and too flawless.

I am not very familiar with NCT name wise. I only know a few by name but I always get drawn to Shotaro's dancing. Him and Ten may pull me into stanning NCT. I have been resisting it because I am bad with names. I looooooooove Shotaro's dancing. I love the hip theme of the dance and the song.

I am not at all surprised that Shotaro stands out in this choreo. Not only is it a jam packed choreo in his style, there is no mistaking someone who has been dancing (and professionally) since they were 5 years old. It's unmistakable. :D And he got into SM because they saw an amazing dancer who also had potential to develop the all-round skills of a kpop performer. So he will just grow and grow in his vocal abilities as well over the next few years because you know he is a hard worker. It must be so fun to be a choreographer who can just give these boys a choreo and know they will totally deliver on it, they are all such skilled performers.

Xiaojun's movement is so smooth. He such an underrated ace, like he got everything, he's handsome, he dances amazing, he has godly vocal. Fun fact: he is Make a wish (also Resonance) choreographer favorite student

He mentions that he's worked with all of NCT at some point (excluding sung taro?), but now mostly works with WayV. I think WayV has a special place in his heart, particularly Ten and Xiaojun as students that enjoy making their own choreography.

@@SeleneLedezma exactly! He does not get enough credit for his dancing. He is much more fluid in his movements then sharp. Lunch and Lemonade were amazing choreography for him to showcase his style

It's probably because his vocals kind off overshadows his dancing skills. He is a really good dancer and keeps up with every group/song/performance he is in but his vocals are insanely beautiful and strong, he is one of the best SM vocalists out there. We have so many members in nct and that's why most of the time members do not get a chance to show other sides of their talents. Most of them are aces, we have great rappers, great dancers and great vocalists. Doyoung is one of the best vocalists in nct and kpop too. I think that's why their managing team mostly focus on his vocals in performances and push him more on to the side of being a singer/vocalist. His dancing abilities are so good too but it gets overshadowed cause his singing abilities are much more stronger than his dancing abilities. What an amazing artist to stan... idk i just love him so much dhsjshj

i really can’t help but to watch Shotaro whenever he’s dancing, then i’ll have to play the video again cause i forgot to watch my children then he will snatch my attention again so then i replay the video again then she freaking gets my attention again, imagine how tired i am 😩 yes i love how Mark and Shotaro got a moment together, it’s so satisfying seeing them dance side by side. and Jaemin smashed his center position, like he really said i’m not getting any lines imma make y’all worship me. he’s different in this comeback. this is a great reminder to people who’s been discrediting him. he gets dance breaks and center for a reason!!!

honestly i never thought the combination of this unit though, but it turns out this is the best unit for me!

I didn't really catch up on any updates about this comeback so I didn't know who're in this line-up until I watched the MV. When I saw the members, I was like, damn this is a very strong unit when it comes to dancing. We literally have Sho freakin Taro, Jeno Jaemin Yangyang Haechan Mark Xiaojun andJungwoo, who can literally be considered the lead dancers and let's not forget Doyoung. I find that Jaemin suits this concept more than MAW in terms of dancing.

Doyoung is really an ace, he got put in all 3 supreme groups through 3 NCT projects: Boss, Make a wish and Let's play ball and let's not forget the ultimate first NCT debut unit - NCT U The 7th sense unit

13:39 he's one of the best dancers of the group, you (and most of the fans) just never noticed him lol

He didn't click with me there, I don't know why but maybe the presence of Xiaojun and Shotaro just made me focus on them. This is the best I have seen him so intense and aaahh, he’s making me abandon Renjun lol. Edit: I changed my mind. I binged on all of Jaemin’s fancams and boy do I regret not appreciating him enough ahhhh. He’s so charismatic even with the dreamies. I’ve been focusing on Jisung, Jeno, and Renjun when he’s with the dreamies and on Shotaro, Xiaojun in the other units. He deserves the center position!

I say this everywhere and have probably said it on your other videos, but Shotaro just amazes me. He’s like a skill/technique sponge. He came to the group with a lot of talent and an incredible skill set, and he has just absorbed everything new and different the trainers and choreographers give him and spit it back out with his own completely unique style. I cannot get enough of him. Cannot. And Haechan and Jaemin are my Dream biases, so of course I love the love.

This is by far my favorite reaction for this dance practice and possibly my favorite reaction of yours as well Jeff. The way you praised the members every time they stood out and explained the way they move like with Haechan in using his elbow. I sometimes get annoyed with too much pausing but for some reason I never do with your videos, I'm just amazed and entertained the whole time. Thank you for making me love this choreo even more then I already did.

3:53 I mean there was a basketball hoop in the music video as well and the hand movement in the chorus kind of resembles swinging the baseball bat so I guess any ball game is aight
