Hi, I enjoy your lore videos but i was woundering why you Discontinued: [SEMINAR 1: Terminology & History. The Lore of CONTROL!] PS. Sorry if you already answered this but i couldn't find your answer or reason anywhere... Also I truly enjoyed your Control video it was the reason i subscribed!

So if my monkey brain is correct, it's like a psychotic version of the matrix, but instead of robots it's psychopaths.

Ruvik was a pretty cool villain, and one of the few I've come across who actually won in the end, or at least escaped justice..

The only villain in the 2nd game who stood out like Ruvik did in the first one was Stefano.

Another interesting thing about Sebastian as a protagonist is the fact that his triumph over Ruvik is partially due to Ruvik not considering him significant enough to spend time on, allowing Sebastian to go far enough until it was too late to stop him.

Even if I had never heard of this game, you couldn’t fool me into thinking that someone who called himself Ruvik was a good guy.

I think I damn near shit my pants the first time I encountered Laura. It’s that scream she lets out everytime she appears, and the upward way the blood sprays. She’s such a dope character.

Never noticed the early foreshadowing with Kidman in the car.

rewatching this one and am freshly grateful for your defense of leslie here -- as someone who's been plenty traumatized, seeing a character with entirely understandable and *common* response being belittled left right and center can be exhausting. thank you for the compassion!

These games and Resident Evil always crack me up with how far they're willing to wade into left field to not have their horror be supernaturally based

I mean what ruvik became is not natural so its supernatural right. He stole a body and kept some of his abilities he had while in stem

supposedly leslie's appearance is the result of staff disconnect. he was aged up to 25 but was originally planned to be 15 years old, and i guess the team working on the modeling didn't get the memo that they should age him up

What I love about Evil Within is that it’s basically the first Matrix movie but in stead of a John Wu-esk Hardboiled action movie, it’s a survival horror action game that is just as bonkers as the Matrix and John Wu films.

There was way more lore in evil within then I originally thought.

Your work is extremely slept on and super high quality, but I recommend lowering the music volume as it make it hard to hear you voice.

Loving the content so far, not a dan of the music choice at the start of this video tho

I’ve never been more hyped for a game, then immediately deflated, losing all interest. “Oh, a nightmare/dream machine? So.... it’s all just nightmare/dream.... well then who cares?” “Dude, but it’s still scary and crazy!” “But it’s not real. I know video games aren’t real, but when even the characters admit it’s all just a simulation, that none of this is actually happening, then there’s almost no tension anymore.” It’s almost why I think Bloodbourne is the weakest of the latest Fromsoft games. At least the theme of dreams and nightmares makes sense (kinda) and there’s a real fear of being not just trapped in a dream, but even the waking world is under the control of Eldritch beings beyond the ken of man’s comprehension. Here it’s just, a weird experiment. It’s only scary the way a roller coaster is scary. You’re more entertained and waiting to see what’s next, but you’re not in any real danger. Final note: Yeah the main character is actually trapped in this nightmare, but the fact that he knows and I know what he’s seeing is just a bunch of code in a program is, quite frankly, lame.
