Brilliant mower, I have the lawnmaster reel 400, which has the Tecumseh motor made in N.Z. yours seems to be a copy of steelfort NZ.
I'm looking at this mower now, looks a good bit of kit. The oil change is easy go to Bunnings and pick yourself up the Briggs & Stratton Oil removal kit $38:99 makes it so easy no mess. Cheers.

Thanks for the tip
Kinda wish I went for this instead of the massport rotory... maybe once lawn is re-levelled will grab one.

How often do you need to have it serviced and sharpen the blades?
@Homeonthetools
Жыл бұрын
@@supersonic249 hey mate, service it myself twice during the growing season and just before putting away for Winter, as for sharpening I backlap and adjust the blades every month or so to keep them tiptop, I haven’t had a pro sharpen them yet, prob do that next year so will be 3 years between sharpening
I have the 500 and agree the height adjustment handle is a piece of 💩 the only other thing I think it needs is a bit more weight. I’m going to work out a way of adding some extra weights maybe another 10-15kg if possible just to stop it “floating” on grass that isn’t perfectly flat

True, I have thought of upgrading the roller to a heavy steel one myself, maybe a mod in the future
I am looking getting one of these, have you experienced many issues with this mower? I’ve read a lot of problems with the clutch and plastic roller.

No problems with either the clutch or plastic roller after 2 seasons however I have maintained the mower well, only reports are stretching of the control cables and the grips fell off the levers

Hey mate, I can’t seem to find a way to backlap this mower. The reel spins independently of the rear drum and there isn’t a nut on the bolt that spins the reel. Outside of getting the right nut for the bolt, is there an easier way

Hey mate, I haven’t got round to backlapping my mower yet, I have the paste just need the time, correct about the bolt, think it takes a 19mm nut then should be able to spin with a rattle gun, not sure how else to sharpen other then filing the bedknife by hand
I just can't justify buying a petrol device these days. I'm going to wait for the electric cordless versions to come down in price.

Don’t disagree I love the battery operated stuff, nearly swapped out all my petrol tools, battery op cylinder mowers not in my price range just yet
What country is it made in?

Hey mate, the parts are sourced globally and then tested in Australia, the company is Australian owned
