I'm as confused as you are.
There was one time, at a renaissance fair, I did an axe throwing challenge. We were given three tries, and I didn't hit the target on any of them. However, two of the axes became embedded in the dirt, handles first. I turned to the guy running the game and asked if I could get a prize for that. He turned and stared at what I had done for a solid sixty seconds, or so, then turned back to me and said "No, but that's legitimately impressive."
@Scotty-vs4lf

For the entire 60 seconds he was just thinking “I wish I could give them a small prize but I think I would get fired “ lmao that is impressive though

I got sort of the opposite story. In my college friend group, I’m apparently known to be the most “Midwest” whatever they mean by that. And we had an axe-throwing event at a fair in the nearby town. Being the first time, they all got on the target board but not accurate. And I’m on the side with 4/5 axes near the center and thinking “This is not helping my image.” So I’m now Mr. Midwest to them which I guess could be worse.

@@TheStrangerous okay, that's fair, but on the other hand, consider that it would be *excellent* content. Not to mention the absolute most hilarious way to reset the counter. Imagine. Thanks for that!
honestly what happens when you listen to great teachers, the amount of information they gave in the first few minutes was amazing, good work rogues !
these episodes are getting increasingly more manic and I'm totally here for it
I grew up in the country the sort of place where you just let kids go into the forest and shout for them when diners ready. Anyway I remember I had a hatchet that my grandfather had rehandled with me and I would just through it as hard as possible at a wooden bord and it would bounce back and hit me a few times, never the blade part, you know to complete lack of fear children have. Anyway eventually I learned to stick it at any distance by putting the right amount of spin on it, I understand why they didn't teach them that but it's much more fun because then you can land trick shots at any time.
Brian's celebration of doing well reminds me quite a lot of Bert Kreischer winning a cheese burger making contest against Sebastian Maniscalco and handling it in a totally calm and professional manner. Not at all surprised by an unexpected result and totally kept his composure.
This is why I love axe throwing. It's so simple you just have to know what to look, and listen, for. It's also just challenging enough to not get boring. And I mean the inner viking just screams when you do it.
been having a rough week i just LOVE hearing the pure visceral joy from these 2 when they succeed. its like pure.
And just when I thought axe throwing was a good way to get myself on the show 😂 Speaking of that. I have an Atlatl expert for you guys. He’s an Experimental anthropology student

YES!! i love axe throwing, it's sooo fun! So glad to see y'all doing it
When I'd thrown a fireman's hatchet a school friend had 'acquired' some way (probably by his dad), I was side throwing it, left handed so it went in slanted. My 12 year old mind just thought 'I'll lean over a s**tload and then it'll fly straight!'....... I wasn't wrong neither 😂!! Once I'd got my distance and angle of leaning right, I could throw that insulated hatchet with such demonic, rage force that we had to cut it out of a tree a number of times. Damn, I wish I was 12 year old again with a fireman's hatchet, insulated to 20,000v. GOOD TIMES!!!
9:07 I almost feel bad for pointing this out, but Jason's throw was definitely an under rotation, not a "javelin".
