I find scoring both sides helps a lot too on thicker boards.

I'm pretty sure this is like 10 times easier than what I had been doing. Thanks!

I have been pulling out my hack saw or Dremel for YEARS. Never thought it would be that easy. Totally using this next time. THANKS!!

But, "resizing" suggest both ways! How do you make the boards BIGGER?

So basically the same procedure as drywall, except with a bit more force. Also, voila, ersatz castellated vias (they probably don't work, don't trust them). SparkFun has a "snappable protoboard" which is essentially a pre-scored perf board. I tried it, it's not bad, but you end up with a lot of leftover bits and the quality of the pads wasn't great (they oxidized within a year, ugh). Also if you make a big board out of it, it would tend to bow a little in the vise, so that was fun too. The more I use perf boards like this, the more I appreciate circuit CAD and PCB fab services. Sure, I have to wait a couple of weeks for the boards, but I can size them the way I want beforehand.

Is it better to cut across the center of the pads like shown in the video or between them? I've always done between, but maybe through the center is better

@@climatebreak center of course, its half way cut already this way

@@climatebreak Those vias are unusable anyway. _Edit:_ What I usually do is cut the board as per the video and then clean the cut smooth with a utility knife (and a file if I can be bothered).

Imagine the perf board as a piece of paper (say, a sheet of coupons), with perforations. Scoring the board along the vias is like folding the paper along the perforations before tearing it. I've been using flush cutters and scoring between the vias, and I looked at the video and thought, "Oh, that makes more sense."
